It's been a hot day and tonight is meant to be warm as well, so sleep may be difficult 😞

work was the same as the rest of the week.  Unfortunately I'm working tomorrow and selfishly I'm hoping my colleague who is due to work with me doesn't pick up the S&V bug from her child overnight 🤢 as the others are on holiday so I'll be on my own

I cooked my gammon lunchtime ready for salads and sandwiches and maybe ham egg and chips

lunch was a repeat of yess one mackerel and egg salad, using up the mackerel. Dinner was freezer LOs beef cheek rendang, it a bit warm for curry but it just needed pinging

Completely forgot to post last night. Was a warm day but not unpleasantly so, wfh so managed to stay cool inside.

Food wasn’t particularly weather appropriate but I was determined not to shop again until the weekend 😉. Lunch was creamy mushrooms on toast (end of the mushrooms, end of the double cream) and I had beige tea of scampi and chips from the freezer, oh there were some frozen peas as a nod to healthy.

Out a bit over the weekend so not much CFOing and potentially not much healthiness 🙃

Enjoy the sun everyone. Don’t work too hard Brambling.

    Good morning everyone,

Lovely and sunny here this morning but not yet that warm, that said we aren't expecting the heatwave other parts are.
DS1 and DIL-to-be have been fortunate to receive weekend passes for TRNSMT and the weather seems perfect for it after rain yesterday.
DS2 is off to help his mate fill a skip in an ongoing project to level his garden which is on a slope. I'm Hector sitting and he's currently snoozing while I enjoy a cuppa before heading to the garden.
Salady bits for lunch and chicken wings, baked spuds and salad for dinner. Last night ended up being a wodge of HM chicken pie with veg after the pie fell out of the freezer breaking shattering the takeaway tub it had been frozen in!

Better car news yesterday, it was "just" a duff starter motor, which as it's sixteen years old and must have done zillions of starts during those years I think I'll allow that as fair. Only thing left is MOT next month and then relax hopefully

Up & out watering in the back early, before the sun gets really hot. It's scorching already, luckily with a bit of a cooling breeze

Lunch I'm not sure, I've frozen half a loaf because in this weather it goes mouldy before I get round to eating it. An easy option would be cheese, but I'm looking very mouse like, having eaten so much of it lately. Maybe Fish F's? Just pleb ones, not posh ones
Dinner, another one having non-weather appropriate food for dinner.
The use up W8rose individual pie, nuked LO mash, carrots, use up broccoli, use up celery heart and maybe frozen beans if that lot looks a bit sparse when I get round to it, plus instant granule gravy

Glad that the car will live to see another day Farway  :)

i worked until 2.30pm we nearly finished a hour earlier but the system decided to fall over at the last minute and we had to track down our Indian developer to resolve, their interpretation of a developer having a 24 hr 'support' mobile is different than ours, it only works if they answer it 🙄.  I did manage to get all my washing including bedding on the line 🙂

I grabbed a quick gammon and pickle sandwich before my sister picked me up at 3pm to go over to see my DH, plenty of baby cuddles 🥰 little one was all smiles and she can laugh now, I laughed when she had a nappy leakage on grandma and then was sick down her back  😁 I had a very narrow escape 😬

we got back at 7.30pm so time I sorted his lordship and got the washing In I was glad I had taken dinner out of the freezer, chicken tray bake with black pudding and chorizo etc which I frozen with rice, roast cauliflower and tenderstem broccoli

Another scorcher due today, especially as the breeze has gone, I hope to get out and water a few bits before i the heat really gets cracking, not a tennis fan, but it'll be tough on Centre Court today, rather them than me

Food is back to more weather appropriate, lunch tinned salmon + cucumber sarnie
Dinner, nuke a MFO RM of macaroni cheese, just a Smart Price one so not pushing budget boat out today

    Good morning everyone,
Glad it was good news re the car Farway
Another lovely day here, warmer than yesterday I think but not unmanageably so. Hector was in the bad books yesterday after destroying several pots of plants in a puppy frenzy. He wasn't a bit sorry lol!
Once the sun has gone over a bit I'll carry on with tackling the herb pots, they are needing a bit of tlc.
Salady bits for lunch and pork steaks with various veg and Ayrshires for dinner.

Hot day here and due to get hotter 🥵

quiet day other than a quick trip into town as I wanted some fruit and decided M&S may be easiest. I was offered someone's parking ticket ticket at the smaller car park in town as they now only do a all day ticket on Sunday at £1.70 to encourage shoppers in.  I was offered four as I was parking 😁 and passed it on when I left.  I'm sure the council will find a way to stop that, they changed parking at our leisure centre so you have to put in your reg number 🙄

As well as fruit I picked up another gammon joint to freeze before the price goes up 🙄 they are still £5.50 for a 750g one and they are very nice 🙂 and just the right size for CFO, YS runner beans, asparagus and peaches as well  :)

lunch was a gammon and salad crusty roll.  Dinner was pan fried sea beam, new potatoes, runner beans and broccoli with a salsa verde.  I picked up what I though was two packs of sea bass heavily reduced at Easter and one turned out to be 2 butterfly filleted sea beams rather then the two sea bass fillets I thought when I picked it up not bad for £1 😁 I had one tonight and will have the other tomorrow, I cooked enough veg so just need to cook the fish.

  • Hmm, so best laid plans and all that…was supposed to be out for lunch today but woke up feeling not too great - very covid like symptoms so did a test and yep, it’s finally got me. Spent the day shivering inside whilst it was 28 degrees out 😮

Luckily my shopping was done yesterday and I got loads of salady meal options due to the forecast. Lunch was cheese and egg salad with bread and butter, made a yummy honey and mustard dressing that will do a few days. Tonight was chargrilled halloumi and courgette on a bed of French style lentils (Lidl pouch, very nice). Much paracetamol, water and tea during the day…

    Good morning everyone,
Sorry you've succumbed JKS. hope it's a mild dose
Hot and hazy here today, over 20C already and due to hit the mid-20s this afternoon. Too hot for me tbh so I'll be lurking indoors until later when there's some shade in the garden.
More destruction yesterday, in the greenhouse this time and not Hector this time! One of my tomato plants toppled when the stake broke breaking the top half clean off another. I've removed the broken bit and hopefully a side shoot will produce some fruit. Such a shame to lose it as it was laden with flowers.
Salady bits for lunch and dal for dinner.
