Another warm day with windows wide open, but it’s not salad today because it’s use up day

I may potter in the garden later, collecting foxglove seeds but that’s about all

Made an overnight loaf in the Panny for today lunchtime sarnie, which I think will be cheese & sliced raw onion, one CFO benefit

Dinner, use up but posh use up, rump steak, fried eggs, HM AF chips & nuked LO beans

    Good morning everyone,
Drizzling here and chilly. After a glorious afternoon the weather broke mid-evening. Thankfully it held off long enough for us to cook outdoors.
I'm feeling really tired this morning, definitely haven't got my oomph back yet post-infection and I've been quite busy (for me) the past few days. Today apart from cooking dinner and doing some basic chores I plan to do very little. We're off to DS1 and DIL-to-be's for dinner tomorrow night I want to be able to tackle the four flights of stairs and enjoy the evening.
LOs (as usual lol) for lunch and tonight it's cheesy, chilli, meatballs with pasta and salad. I'm going to make a double batch of the meatball mix and freeze half for a future meal.

That’s my kind of use up dinner, Farway!

So, back to work but not much of a rest…bounced from meeting to meeting and my lunch break was spent buying petrol 🙄

Packed salad and new potatoes into a lunchbox as I was making last night’s dinner. Added feta and a balsamic dressing and that was lunch al desko. Creamy tuna, sun dried tomato and broccoli pesto pasta tonight - bit of store cupboard, bit of using up 🙃

Warm but muggy here most of the day with too much cloud 🙂

I went out in my lunch break to pick up fruit, salad and milk in Lidl it's easier to park mid week and I refuse to pay Tesco Exp price for bananas 😐 on the way back I popped into the pet shop to buy his lordships preferred food whilst it's on offer, it was the last box so I was lucky.  They were nearly out of cat litter (luckily his lordship hates using a tray so I've used half a bag in four years)  a elderly woman was berating a poor assistant as he was unable to tell her when it would be back in stock as they don't know.

Lunch was a quick salad sandwich when I got back. Dinner was a salmon and avocado salad

    Good morning everyone,
    Dull but dry here.
Have pretty much exhausted the LOs so lunch will be a cheese salad wrap.
Tesco order finalised, I think I've forgotten something but can't think what!
Off to DS1 and DIL-to-be's later for dinner, will be interesting to see how the pooches get on in a neutral space.

Warm, dull & breezy, which is good ‘cos it’s going to get too hot soon

Caron, hope you manage the four flights of stairs, the evening would be over by the time I got to the top

Asda delivery arrived on time, minus boil in bag kipper fillets and fruit juice, I allowed subs for the juice but none at all, last time they subbed with apple juice but I guess this hot weather has cleared the shelves

I had to send the Iceberg lettuce back because it was sprout sized, very luckily & pure coincidence the Little gem lettuce I’m growing this year have started to run to seed, so at least I have a few green leaves for a salad

The fresh [small print on rear label, frozen and defrosted] mackerel arrived, vacuum packed, ready gutted but came as a pair which was not what I was expecting, I’ll eat them of course but shan’t buy again, no use for CFO with two in a vacuum pack and limited shelf life once opened

Good news is the veggie black pudding arrived OK, thought I’d try that, the write ups reckon it’s tastes as good as the real thing, we shall see

Lunch, maybe cheese & pickle sarnie

Dinner, the mackerel, with steamed broccoli, celery heart, carrots & boiled baby spuds

Turned into a lovely day here, was really warm when I walked out of the office and it’s a lovely evening. Really enjoyed the office today - no meetings but a couple of good catch ups with people and finally caught up on emails from my two days off.

One of my catch ups was over lunch so cheese and marmite toastie in Starbucks 🙃

Trying not to shop again this week (bought quite a lot of stuff for having visitors earlier in the week) so dinner was cod from the freezer with a mornay topping/sauce that used up the creme fraiche, new potatoes and the end of the broccoli. I’ve also decluttered the end of a lemon tart and the end of a bottle of red 😉

Another quiet work day, just as well as only two of working today and tomorrow, only the one call with a 'urgent' issue which luckily I was able to say user error not system error  :)

A freezer rummage/tidy in the small chest freezer lunchtime was quite productive 🙂 I  was thinking about taking out a small half leg of lamb but decided it is due to get too warm for a roast so unearthed a forgotten M&S YS gammon joint which I'll pressure cook probably Saturday and will do for salads and sandwiches with the promised warm weather, if I pressure cook it there will be no kitchen heat and it only takes about 20 minutes. I found some Sussex charmer cheese I divided a large block at Christmas from the farmers market and through I had eaten it all 😋 also a couple of blocks of president butter brought on offer earlier in the year at about a £1 a block cheaper than what it is now priced at 😁

lunch was a smoke mackerel and egg salad with a dollop of horseradish. Dinner was beef ragu from the freezer with pasta

Up very early when still dark, thinking about my dead car and what next? Maybe scrap it rather than chuck more money in? One of the problems with cars is knowing when to get rid of them, once it was easy with £100 bangers, but they no longer exist as an option

Anyway, sun's out and feeling hot in the sun already, need to water before too long & it gets really hot

Brambling, with leg of lamb & butter you should put them on e bay, pay for a tank of petrol at today's prices, with hindsight hoarding Lupack would've been better investment than Bitcoins, not that I've got either

Lunch, probably grilled cheese on toast with piccalilli
Dinner, the other fresh mackerel with maybe oven chips & frozen peas.
Despite my misgivings, last night's mackerel was excellent, I cooked it in a tin foil parcel in the oven with a smear of butter inside, pre covid I used to buy fresh in Asda with free herb butter of choice inside all sealed in a cook in bag, that was in days of fresh fish counter, now long gone I think

    Good morning everyone,
I had a lovely evening at DS1's but my the stairs are a challenge! DS1 cooked a gorgeous lasagne, his years of cheffing in Italian restaurants paid off! Tired today so a quiet on planned.
Very grey here but no rain so far and only 13C. Tesco are due soon and when the shopping is away I'll do some dead heading.
Hector slept all night for the second night in a row.  :)
Salady bits for lunch and freezer rake tonight - probably breaded haddock.
