  • Sherwood is highly recommended, one of the best things I’ve seen in ages. I’ve put The Secret on my list 😊

Quite a pleasant day here, it seems to be sort of like spring here this week, which suits me for the working week. Went out to my usual offsite meeting this morning but we were done quickly and I was back home late morning. Caught up on a few bits this afternoon, all calm!

Lunch was posh fishfingers, lettuce, pickled gherkins and aioli in a toasted pitta 😋

Made pesto and cherry tomato orzo with oregano halloumi tonight. LO orzo popped in a lunchbox with salad and feta for tomorrow.

    Back to the Murray rollercoaster…🎾

Made snap decision yesterday to get my W8rose order in because there was a slot vacant this morning, so a lot of the morning has been spent “putting away”. A couple of not available items, one I was looking forward to was lamb mince, dreaming of lamb burgers, but not to be it seems, at least this week’s loyalty vouchers were handy, £1.50 off loo rolls and £1.00 off individual meat pie

Plus replenished the posh Fish Fs and rump steak on 3 for tenner offer

Rain at last, quite steady stuff which may water the garden at last, still warm though

Lunch was a bacon & tom sarnie, the bacon is best back ex Asda the other week, it’ll do for now

Dinner, one of the individual pies, depends on Use By date which one, with nuked LO HM mash and clear out some frozen veg I have lurking, one of which is cauli florets LO from Christmas

    Good afternoon everyone,
Late on parade today as pooch and puppy sitting! They still require close watching but definitely getting better.  :)
While they're both snoozing I've finalised the Tesco order, noodled on here and with a bit of luck will get a chance to do the crossword.
LO pasta for lunch and salmon with roast veg and salad tonight.

I gave up trying to post last night when my tablet froze and wouldn't even allow me to switch off 🙄 I'm sure my old one had a reset option 🤔   It did eventually allow me to switch off after a long while

Farway I have some good Waitrose offers this week, unfortunately at the wrong time as I don't need to shop and with one chicken in the freezer I don't need another  :|

I hope the doggy day care went well Caronc 🙂

usual work days, at least tomorrow is Friday  :) and only two of us working 😐 I did pop out to top up cat food lunchtime and then remembered it was the 30th and my quarterly vouchers aren't valid until tomorrow

crab stick and avocado spinach salad for lunch. I made a vegetable and butter bean chilli lunchtime in the slow cooker, stirred in the end of a jar of peanut butter and wilted a half bag spinach into it once  cooked it was very nice 😋 I forgot about added peanut butter to veg chilli, it made 5 generous portions and only about 2.5 tablespoons of PB but made a difference.

it's now tipping down with rain and his lordship is sulking on the door step 🙄

  • Ooh, peanut butter in veg chilli 🤩, I love peanut butter, will have to try that Brambling.

Also glad it’s Friday tomorrow, been a long week. Couple of days off next week so few things to get done tomorrow to meet deadlines, luckily today was relatively calm.

LO pesto and cherry tomato orzo with feta for lunch (as previously advertised). Easy tea of LO chicken, cannellini bean and leek traybake from the freezer. Just reheated and served with the end of a bag of salad.

Another Brit to support tonight 🎾

    Good morning everyone,
Started watching Sherwood last night, I really enjoyed it but DS2 wasn't sure initially but warmed to it as the episode progressed.
Doggy day care went reasonably well only one "falling out", I'm sure in a few months they will be firm friends.
Hector is sleeping at my feet, wrapped round the castors of the computer chair, I'm scared to move in case I squash him!
Overcast here but if it stays dry we'll bbq this evening. If not it will be burgers indoors. DS2 finishes for a week's leave this afternoon so fancied bbqing rather than his usual chippy. Burgers and bangers have been requested, my sis will make coleslaw and I'll cook some Ayrshires for potato salad. Some vino or a G&T will be enjoyed.
Tesco due in a bit and then housework beckons, I'm still playing catch up from being poorly and have visitors coming on Sunday so must shift some dust!

Back to a full fridge after yesterday delivery and could do with making a salad now but weather is bit dull & not really salad weather, Sunday is supposed to be improving so maybe then.

In the meantime, lunch will be another bacon & tom sarnie

Dinner, one of the items from yesterday was boil / nuke in bag kipper fillets so it’s Fish Friday. I’ll make a pot of mash, enough to give LOs, and maybe frozen peas or baked beans?

We had rain overnight / early morning and the day turned out quite nice 🌞

work turned out really quiet which seeing as there were just two of working today was a good thing and we both logged off dead on 5pm  :)  I did go back to the pet shop lunch time to stock up on cat food and spend my voucher, definitely not such good vouchers as previously unless I wanted to buy services rather than food ie insurance or pet sitting or spend a fortune on really expensive cat biscuits even with 20% off I also don't want to take the risk he likes them too much and won't go back to his current cheaper favourites 🐱  having said that I'm not complaining on the £1.50 voucher I did use   :)

A easy day food wise, portion of turkey soup from the freezer to free the gap to freeze LOs veg chilli. Dinner was a portion of the veg chilli 🙂 it made about five portions, It seems I can't cook small portions especially if I get the slow cooker out 🙄

    Good morning everyone,
Showery and overcast here this morning. After a couple of sharp showers late afternoon it turned into a pleasant evening so we managed to bbq though ate indoors as the midgies were out in force!
Housework and a bit of prep for tomorrow's "picky bits" lunch with the "girls".
There's a new(ish) food van opened that is getting very good reviews. Their slogan is "junk food done well". DS1 tried it recently and said it was definitely a notch above other offerings locally, probably helped by the owner being married to one of the local butchers who provide all the meat. We are trying it tonight for a treat.  :)

Woke early so up & about watering the volunteer large tubs. All easy stuff with a hose. Then the “fun” started, blooming car would not turn over despite new battery, fiddled about a bit then called RAC, who fiddled about a bit, battery is fine, as it should be it’s only about a month old.

Finally finished up being towed by RAC to my local garage about noon,. Where the car will sit until sometime next week. Getting to be a dear car now but too good to scrap it and it could just be the starter motor, about hundred quid plus fitting

All my plans went out the window of course, but at least I was home lunchtime

Lunch was grilled cheese on toast, with piccalilli

Dinner, another one of the W8rose individual pies, with W8roseRM oven roasted root veg in honey butter, it was part of an offer otherwise I wouldn’t be having that

I’m hoping they can both go in oven at the same time
