I'm glad the tablets are kicking in Caronc 🙂 I hope you took things easy today

A full week in the office was a bit of a shock to the system  :# not helped with no lunch breaks and long days shut in a meeting room.  Too much sitting upset my hip so limited sleep meant I was flagging this morning.  All done now for three weeks before I need to go back and then only for a couple of days, it's amazing what you can get done at home on a lunch time 😁

The office kettle started leaking this morning and I volunteered to stretch my legs to walk down to Sainsbobs, their Argos only had then available after 4pm so I brought from Sainsbobs it was £5 more expensive than the same one in Argos but not my money 😁 and the shop in town was 20 min walk.  I had to pay and will claim back with the lunches I brought this week.  Turned out a expensive week for me, hopefully it will be reimbursed quickly as I £100 out of pocket this week and it's the end of the month 😬

Lunch was a SM sandwich and after picking on biscuits all afternoon dinner was cheese and crackers at 8pm

  • Sounds nasty, caronc - keep taking it easy.

Pretty much got my quiet wfh day, couple of curveballs but all sorted and only a couple of planned tasks not done…oh well, there’s always Monday 😅

Nice “things out of the fridge” lunch - feta & spinach parcels, olives, beetroot, tomatoes, avocado and salad. Made butternut squash and black bean fajitas tonight, with lime and coriander yoghurt and avocado. There may have been 🍷…

Still a bit chilly out even though sunny but not going anywhere so not a problem

The YS chicken is still providing meals, at least for today

    Lunch another chicken sarnie

Dinner, cold YS chicken with mash. For some reason the spuds I have don’t AF chip at all well, spuds are just a bag from on line Asda shopping, not a pick & choose variety. So mash it has to be, I’m assuming they mash OK

Maybe a spot of side salad which means some salad cream could spill over onto the mash

    Good morning everyone,
I'm still feeling wiped out so nothing planned. Managed to wash my hair this morning:)
Enjoyed scampi, oven chips, peas and corn for dinner yesterday, food may well be similar today.

  • Easy, comfort food sounds like a good plan, caronc. Rest, rest and more rest 😊

Was awake at silly o’clock this morning so once I was bored with catching up on here, I got up and did my meal plan and shopping list. Then did some voluntary admin stuff and watched Saturday Kitchen.

Swim before lunch of scrambled eggs and avocado on toast. Then off for a haircut and a trip to big Sainsburys while I was in the area. I might have been forced to buy a YS salted caramel cream choux bun 😛, ate half with a cuppa when I got home (might eat the rest in a bit)…

Made this fab sausage and fennel seed pasta tonight. Worked really well halved for CFO and was lovely. Served with green beans and a 🍷

That recipe look good JKS I have the fennel seeds and I think I have a couple of pork sausages in the freezer so I may add to the menu plan  :)

Hopefully you had a restful day Caronc  :)

Too much sitting in meeting room chairs and wheat meant painful joints and a bad night, so a slow day other than washing all done and dried and some pottering indoors.

Lunch was a egg and smoked salmon salad. Dinner was roast beef, I tried it in the airfryer for the first time it needed a little less time but will definitely do it again if I'm not having roast potatoes etc, I did throw in some A Bessie parsnips into fryer part way through as I had a few left in the freezer.

‘Morning folks, another one up & about early, more watering of plant pots as well. Very disappointed because I had my eyes and belly on my cherries ripening in the sunshine, duly protected by chicken mesh from the birds, however this morning being time to harvest the blooming squirrels have beaten me to the lot, must have gone under & up the mesh, all I have left are the pips, not one cherry tasted this summer, grrrrr.

At least I had a loaf in the Panny overnight and that has turned out well, cooling for lunch time cheese & salady bits sarnie

Dinner, one YS chicken quarter & leg left so it’s that and no idea what else

Nothing planned for rest of the day, maybe a bit of garden pottering out the front

    Good morning everyone,
How disappointing re the cherries Farway  :'(
My lurgy finally seems to be improving but oh my the cough...... Still feeling completed wiped out but fingers crossed a few more days and I'll get my oomph back.
Sofa and kindle beckon this afternoon, it's grey and wet outdoors but I plan to cook dinner tonight and give DS2 a break. He's been looking after me very well.  We're having roast sirloin, Ayrshire tatties, tender stem broccoli, managetout, mushrooms and peppercorn sauce.

    Darn squirrels 🐿

another lazy day for me  :) I was due to meet a friend in Chichester yesterday but I'm now glad that between the train strikes and chaos on the roads thanks to Goodwood festival of speed we cancelled as I've felt tired all weekend  B)  SM delivery 10am this morning which came with small cauliflower and huge (700g) broccoli head 🙄 and giant grapes the size of plums, other whilst only one no show and a couple of ok subs.  I did a little gardening but only about a hour before I had to come in.

Lunch was scrambled egg and smoked salmon on a bagel.  Dinner LO roast beef with AF chips and LO veg

  • Quite a productive, domestic day here. Warm and sunny but very windy, got two loads of washing dry but did have to stop it wrapping itself around the line 😂

Some of the never ending beetroot for lunch, in a sandwich with cheese on yummy YS bread. Made a steak salad nicoise tonight. Also prepped fruit and tomorrow’s packed lunch.

Full week this week, let’s see how that goes…
