I also had a sleepless night due to the heat
today was really warm and muggy and started to rain at 3pm nothing heavy just slight showers although it is now thundering ⚡️ and heavy rain
I topped up in Lidl this afternoon, I had set up a W8itrose ordered for tomorrow but decided to go to SM insteadand cancelled it, I still managed to spend the same amount (there were a lot of offers in my on line shop) it all fitted in a basket
lunch was LO koftas in a wrap with salad and a yoghurt and mint dressing. Dinner was pan fried salmon, new potatoes, broccoli and runner beansLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Complete change in the weather, dull, windy & cool, not that it affects me today
My Coronation chicken trial turned out well, only slight problem is the curry powder I have is dark brown, so final product look is a bit off putting, if dropped on floor you’d think your dog had an accident. Tasted just fine though
Neighbour left me some more black spot bananas, so yet another banana loaf made and is now cooling, smells nice because I discovered a bottle of vanilla yesterday while seeking the curry powder
DD is popping over later for Dad’s day, so maybe sample a slice then?
Lunch, not sure because DD is likely to be here, so TBD on that
Dinner, rinse & repeat yesterday by using up the Coronation chicken, HM AF chips + salad
UPDATE, no sooner pressed send than phone call, off to posh pub lunch with the "kids", whoo hoo!

Good morning everyone,
Enjoy your posh pub lunch Farway.
Yesterday just ran away with me and I realised after I'd gone to bed I hadn't posted.
Dry but windy and quite chilly this morning, both pooches are snoozing so DS2 and I are enjoying a quiet 1/2 hour!
DS1 and DIL-to-be popped by yesterday bearing food, they'd had friends round on Friday for homemade tapas and had over catered so brought meatballs, croquettas and prawn bisque. The meatballs and croquettas formed the basis for last night's dinner and the bisque will do nicely for lunch.
I've a small joint of FR pork shoulder defrosting to roast later. We'll have it with Jersey Royals, carrots, broccoli and HM gravy.0 -
I hope you had a good lunch Farway?A friend of mine is half Spanish Caronc and makes fantastic croquettas 😋 I may have to persuade her it's time she made some more
Colder and damper today but still warm enough for a tee shirt. I cooked a small M&S gammon in the pressure cooker this morning for the next few lunches and whilst I had the pressure cooker out then made a ratatouille (minus courgette as the ones left in Lidl yesterday were awful).I caught up with Sherwood this afternoon whilst my neighbour spent the time drilling 🙄Lunch was gammon baguette. Dinner ratatouille (will cook less time if idiot in pressure cooker again) with LO feta crumble in with broccoli and green beansLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
‘morning folks, sunny and warm with breeze today, ideal for hanging washing out sort of day
Yesterday’s posh pub lunch I opted for the ploughman’s while “kids” had vegan nut roast, which looked nice in a roast dinner sort of way. However my ploughman’s was full on omnivore, with a whole rustic local pork pie, slices of ham, cheddar, usual pickles, salad leaves etc. Served on cliché plank of course but extremely filling and tasty. I chose that as a change from roast or my normal F & chips fall back option and glad I did
After the huge lunch I never felt like any dinner so it was just picking at the banana loaf I had made and some of the monster choc bar hat had arrived
Today is back to normal, bedding changed, how exciting, then toast and??? for lunch I think
Dinner will be the last of the Coronation chicken that was for yesterday, with HM AF chips + salad bits
I have frozen the remains of the chicken, just a pair of legs with the picked over carcass in the bin

Good morning everyone,
Dry and sunny here though not that warm. DS2 is in his "office" so I'm back on dog duty. Big dog is still very wary of pup which is to be expected. He's like him well enough when he's sleepy but not when he's in manic pup mode. It's been hard work to minimise skirmishes! My sis returns on Wednesday I think her pooch will be very pleased to see her though has enjoyed seeing my nephew.
Today will be spent mainly in the garden though I doubt much gardening will be done!
LO roast pork with salad for lunch. DS2 is cooking Chicken Chasni tonight and my nephew is joining us for dinner.
Off to see if I might manage to have a cuppa as the wee one is semi-snoozing.

Back from a family weekend of much eating and drinking but no CFOing 😊
Have meal planned and shopped this afternoon. Service station picnic for lunch (was sent with a pack up of cheese salad roll and some LO coleslaw), and made halloumi, new potato and asparagus salad tonight.0 -
Busy day in the office, one of our IT developers is over from India for the week demoing a major system upgrade, so I was a little brain dead by the time I got home at 6pm it will be a long week
I turned down a working lunch of sandwiches and took in a ham and egg spinach salad as I'm trying to avoid too much bread so even if free sandwiches all week will not be good for me
Dinner was LO ratatouille with pasta and green veg so no real cookingLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Blue sky & warm sunshine today and same for next few days so it’s said, gardening is completed so just watering & pottering for now, except checking my first tomato, only a green babe at the moment but at least it’s progress
On a more pressing note my chemist is closing, so need to find another for my repeat prescriptions. Plenty around here including one in Morrison’s but I liked the local & friendly atmosphere in the one I had. I suppose from a practical view Morrison’s would be best, easy free parking and open seven days a week, bit maybe a doorstep delivery service from elsewhere? Needs a bit of thought before I commit
I’ve just about run out of bread with just stale crust left but do have part baked baguettes as standby so I’ll use them up while still in date
With the heat I’m a bit off my food, so just easy stuff for a few days I think
Lunch, one of the PB baguettes with BLT inside
Dinner, could be another BLT PB baguette, or maybe stab & ping MFO?

Good morning everyone,
Just a quick pop in to say hello. Unfortunately developed a horrible cough/chest infection club. LFTs are negative. I've been up most of the night and really feel quite unwell. Managed to get through to the surgery first thing and had a telephone consultation just after 9. Dr said she could hear on the phone how wheezy and congested I was and antibiotics have been prescribed DS2 can collect them from Boots this afternoon.
I'm pooch sitting until DS2 finishes a meeting and then I'm off back to my bed for lie down and hopefully a snooze.
Meals are tbc0
