Good morning everyone,Chaos no longer completely rules here and all the new plumbing has been thoroughly tested.DS2 is having a well deserved day off and is going fishing.I'm going to have a catch up day on the domestic front and then enjoy the garden.
I cooked sausages last night and there's LOs for a lunch time butty.
Nadiya's chicken and rice tonight.0 -
Really doesn’t feel like Thursday does it 😂
Dry sunny day so got my tatty metal plant stand sanded and painted. I’ve also done some tester patches of fence paint. Load of washing pegged out once I’d cleared up from the black spray painting 😜 and then sat and chilled in front of the tennis.
Lunch was salad, Parma ham, feta and olives. Grilled salmon, new potatoes and creamy mustardy leeks and peas tonight.0 -
I know what you mean JKS I've been convinced it's Saturday all day, just as well I heard the neighbour putting the bins out
i put a W8itrose order in as well Farway although I have pushed it back until Tuesday, but I may have to get bananas before then, I arranged my menu plan around their offersalso my 2 loyalty offers are £1 off a small chicken and £1.50 off my preferred teabags which are also on offer so that works out half price
I'll probably tweak again
I did enough gardening to top up my garden bin as it had dropped, they collect it tomorrow and then just usual weekend stuff done indoors
lunch was a couple more crumpets with cheese. Dinner a lamb shank casserole from the freezer, unfortunately not with dumplingswith runner beans, cauliflower and jersey royals

Another one here confused as to what day it is, like Brambling it was the bins that sorted me this morning
Bit dull today but warm enough for me to do a bit of garden pottering & watering later, have to keep an eye on my climbing beans now they are just starting to twirl upwards
I may repeat yesterdays’ lunchtime F Finger sarnie now I’ve opened a new packet, not sure if the older ones had dried out or Asda have changed the recipe but the new ones seem better and don’t burn under the grill before they are cooked
Dinner, more fish, Iceland’s salmon en croute which has been lurking in freezer alongside the Asda F Fingers for yonks, I think having with frozen chips because oven will be on for the salmon anyway. Maybe with frozen peas for a bit of greenery?

Good morning everyone,
Dry but cloudy here though supposed to be sunny later.
No fish were caught yesterday, just a small patch of slight sunburn where he'd missed a bit with the sun cream and a few midge bites! Once Tesco have we'll head to the fishmongers so we can still have a fishy dinner tonight. Lunch is tbc, there's LOs from last night but I suspect when we're in town a quick visit to Greggs might be on the cards. I'm also hoping to pick up some new season Ayrshire tatties now the price has dropped a bit.

Good morning everyone,
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday.
Glorious sunshine here this morning, I'm just waiting for my sister to drop off her pooch as she is off on a work do.
I have some begonias to pot up today and then I'm pretty up to date with the potting on. I have more plants to be hardened off and the greenhouse to plant up but at least the bulk of it is done.
Bought some Ayrshire tatties yesterday, they've been about for a few weeks now but much as they are delicious I refuse to pay £8 per kg for a spud especially as the price quickly comes down. Yesterday's were £4 per kg, still pricey but absolutely worth it. We had paid a visit to the fishmongers and bought some gorgeous angel filleted haddock. Dinner was breaded haddock, Ayrshire tatties, mushy peas and tartare sauce it was delicious.
Dinner is tbc, had hoped to buy pork ribs yesterday to bbq but they were sold out. DS2 will see if there are any to be had today if not we'll need to have a rethink.0 -
Sun’s just peeking out after overnight rain, bit blowy though for anyone at parties or festivities
The haddock dinner sounds tasty Caron, agree about spud prices not hat we get Ayrshire tattles down here, Cornish if not Jersey usually
You have reminded me, I’ve got a begonia to go in, a very poorly vine weevil nibbled one, nearly did it yesterday but got distracted, at least the cucumber & last of the beans went out
Meals, more fish, and another f finger sarnie for lunch now I’m on a roll with them
Dinner, the Mark’s single pie for one, with HM AF chips and nuked peas, and go Northern for the day and have gravy on it
Tomorrow is W8rose delivery day so can start again, one item I’m trying is Scotch eggs, not had them for years so thought I’d give them a go just for a change

sometimes you can't beat good quality simple food Caronc 🙂
Yesterday afternoon and evening was spent with family friends she cooked a lovely dinner and my sister, nephews, my nephew's OH and baby were all there as well 😁
Telephone call from one of my sisters this morning with news of a great great niece born and the not so good news that my BIL the baby's great granddad is very poorly at the moment with some not very good test results. So my local sister and I went out for a wander around the garden centre and a cuppa to get out of the house this afternoon
lunch was a egg and cress sandwich. Dinner was lazy a rump steak, oven chips and sweetcorn / peas

Wet overnight but stopped by the time my W8rose delivery arrived, one sub, sirloin in place of rump steak, smaller lump but charged the rump offer price so no complaints
Nearly collapsed as I read through the paper receipt, bog standard essential butter was £2, I must have missed that when I made the order out, and milk has gone up 15p since my last order. Worse to come so they say but at least I shan’t be literally starving as some will
Now I’m dithering on what to eat today with all the choices delivered, I’ve already attacked the fresh loaf. The sausages are close to use by day, 8th, so bangers & mash is a possibility for dinner, or with eggs & HM AF chips?
Lunch, the loaf is wrong shape or it would be sausage sarnie, but now I have them a Scotch egg sounds nice, perhaps with hint of side salad?

Good afternoon everyone,
Not so glorious weather wise here today though dry. Yesterday was gorgeous though too hot to garden so a lazy day was had enjoying the good weather.
DS2 has headed off for the week as he has a site job in North East England, this afternoon he's going to view two puppies so if all goes well we may have a new addition to the household next weekend. He was going to wait until he bought his own place but that's an unknown timescale and any pooch would be spending a lot of time here anyway so he's decided to go for it rather than wait.
I've only a few hours "home alone" though as this evening my sister and her pooch are coming to stay for a few days as she's having her bedroom decorated.
I'm feeling really tired today, not sure why as I slept well so apart from cooking dinner this evening and few routine chores don't plan on doing very much.
Ham sandwich for lunch and tonight it's roast chicken, corn, salad and baby potatoes0
