Ah, back to W8rose YS browsing again Brambling now you’re back at work, just like the old times, unfortunately I don’t think my Lidl YS browsing before volunteering will ever return without some medical breakthrough.
You’re right about the car, getting expensive now and more to come on Monday when I take it to auto electric specialist for my ABS light, the new battery fixed that starting problem at least, and the battery has a longer guarantee than I have
That said the new battery was less than a lot of folk pay for road tax every year while I only pay £30
I comfort myself with car costs as I can afford it, rainy day money & now it’s raining, plus it’s cheaper than buying another unknown replacement, and with the push for electric cars and price rises on second hand cars, who knows maybe my cheap road tax little diesel will become a collectors classic?
Weather is quite warm so I may weed the pots I'm intending to put the climbing beans in, plus more watering
Food for the day, bit of a mixed use up bag, found a Smart Price ready to nuke Macaroni cheese at back of fridge, use by tomorrow, so that’s lunch today
I also have an opened tin of corned beef & stale bread, thinking of toasted CB topped with grilled cheese, fried eggs & LO beans for dinner. Very easy and clear out the LOs
LO banana loaf if still hungry

Good morning everyone,
Ouch re the car playing up again Farway but as you say that's what rainy day funds are for.
The weather was against gardening yesterday, three times I got rained on before abandoning the idea. I did pot up some new plants that arrived in the greenhouse - must remember to water them.
My sister is coming for dinner tonight if she can manage, she put her back out at the weekend and has been confined to barracks ever since though it is easing.
LO pasta for lunch and tonight I'm cooking Margherita Chicken - Pinch Of Nom with Nigel Slater’s recipe for sautéed peppers and potatoes | Food | The Guardian and green beans. I've already cooked the tomato sauce so not too much prep later.0 -
Unfortunately the YS weren't so good as they use to be Farway, previously they would be half price by lunch time there. I can't complain as the tenderstem broccoli, beetroot and grapes were all on my list and all had 40 - 50p off. It was a nice feeling of normality 🙂
I hope your sis managed dinner Caronc
Work was really quiet, not that any of us were complaining 😁 and we were allowed out for good behaviour 25 minutes early 😁 with the threat that we would be busy again soon enough 🙄 i haven't missed the temporary traffic lights and tractors on the drive in
Freezer dive for meals today, lunch was a portion of minestrone soup and the container for dinner said meatballs and tomato sauce but was beef and mushroom casserole 🤔 if I had known been better organised I would have taken mash potatoes and reb cabbage out as well 🙄 luckily I hadn't cooked the pasta so just added some LO runner beans as I CBA to do prep an alternative. Definitely a benefit of CFO frozen leftovers

Enjoyed my office day today, for once I wasn’t constantly bouncing from meeting room to meeting room 😂
The commute takes a bit of getting used to again, Brambling…temporary traffic lights are the bane of mine - they pop up from nowhere overnight!
Second half of my rice, roast veg and pomegranate seed salad in lunchbox today, with added walnuts sprinkled on. Made harissa courgette and prawn orzo tonight - really yummy and a portion in the freezer 😋

I am getting a takeaway tonight (either chips or a Chinese) as my brother is staying over. I decided to be a bit healthy the rest of the day so I had a smoothie that I made in my Ninja blender and some toast and sliced cucumber for breakfast.
I think I will have a big salad for lunch. I might roast some spicy chickpeas in my air fryer to put on top.2025 GOALS

Good morning everyone,
Yes my sister managed to come over for dinner, clearly on the mend but glad to accept a lift home.
Just waiting for a friend to arrive for a catch up. I had hoped we could sit in the garden but it's very windy so not sure we will.
Meals today are definitely tbc.0 -
It’s garden sitting weather here Caron with a gentle cooling breeze
I made an early start by going down to water the pots in the volunteer garden, no rain forecast for ages, the collect prescription, YS mooch around Costcutter, nothing found and managed to walk away from the YS Bramley apple pie
Lunch was corned beef & lettuce roll, plus slice of banana bread
Salad snap Wednesday, except mine will be dinner, with LO YS cold roast turkey breast, HM AF chips & whatever salad I can muster, I’ll trya new salad dressing with it after splashing out on a Newman’s Own salad dressing with my Asda order, never had it and n offer so worth a try after reading rave reviews. Lovely day today, just a shame I was working 🙂 JKS it's across county between home and work so there are always tractors to caught behind 🙂
work this afternoon was busier than it has been, typical for a Friday afternoon, I have a American colleague who seems to raise issues late Friday afternoon every week, I know it's only her lunchtime but... 🙄
back working at home today so lunch was scrambled egg and wilted spinach on a toasted bagel with some tomatoes. I cooked some kale lunchtime (25p YS for a large bag from T Express when I got milk last night) for dinner I fried a little piece of chorizo with chilli, ginger and garlic and stirred in the kale and had it with pan fried salmon, jersey royals and some of the spinach I wilted lunchtime. It's amazing how little kale or spinach you end up with from large bags of the stuff 🤔

Ah, similar Brambling - my office commute is mostly an A road with very few chances to get past anything and lots of slowing down for the various villages and roundabouts. Yesterday I was stuck behind the tree surgeon doing 34 mph on a 60 bit for about 5 miles 🙄
Home day today so only had to commute to the spare room! Productive day, even got round to a few of the never ending compulsory online learning modules 😴
Scrambled eggs and avocado on toasted bagel for lunch. Salmon, broccoli and chimichurri pasta tonight with 🍷 and 🎾0 -
Bit cooler today this is just as well because it’s bottom of fridge clear out cooking day
Once outside warms up a bit I have to plant out my climbing beans, they are starting to curl round everything now, only growing a few this year as I never eat them all & have enough chutney etc. to see me for a few more years yet
Lunch, more LO corned beef + lettuce, in a sarnie this time
Dinner, I have an individual Mark’s steak pie from my mid-week visit, so it’s that plus steamed clear-out broccoli, cabbage, carrots & celery, with boiled spuds just as a change from mash / chips, served with Instant gravy “jus”
