Quiet, pottering sort of a day here. Sun was mostly out so a couple of loads line dried 🙃
Have done a stock up shop at Lidl (pantry looking nicely stocked with tins, jars and packets now) plus popped to sainsburys for bits I couldn’t get in L’s - definitely a spends day!
Lunch was smoked mackerel pate and toast with cherry tomatoes. Made yummy pea and mint spaghetti tonight.0 -
Quiet day here as well JKS just some pottering inside and in the garden, last night was a late one and I was slow to get moving although the furry alarm clock demanded his breakfast the usual time 🙄
Snap on the lunch JKS as wellSmoke mackerel pate for me as well, using up the rest of the packet I opened Thursday mine was with crackers and cherry tomatoes

My yesterday went well as far as Booster jab went, I had been warned parking was PIA etc. but luckily or not I drove right in and parked at the door. No problems at all and back home, bit of achey arm this morning but that’s all
Did spot of gardening, tidying the daffs, in the process of which I cut my finger, dash inside for a plaster, which must have triggered my blood pressure & set off another nose bleed, luckily I was over kitchen sink this time with kitchen roll to hand so abattoir effect was avoided. Stopped the flow but that impacted on CFO, no bending / lifting to turn nose tap back on, just had the bubble & S with mushroom omelette
I hope to finish of the gardening bits at the front later, but will take it steady and wear gloves, Lessons Learnt as they say
Meals, lunch I reckon back to BLT sarnie
Dinner, because it’s sunny & warm ideal day for a salad, I have a nice looking rump steak from my Asda shopping, so fry that and have with HM AF chips + salad
Mackerel pate sounds good and now I fancy some, I may try making with tinned mackerel, usually I use the fresh fillet ones but they come ready packed and I find too many for CFO and I’m left eating them just for the sake of not wasting them

I really fancied baked beans on toast so I had some this morning with two cups of black coffee.:)
I have a whole broccoli and a few carrots to use up so I think I will steam them and mix them with a mac n cheese ready made thing I bought. Well, it is more like a pot noodle but mac n cheese. I will chop up the veg finely and hopefully make a few portions and have one for lunch and freeze a couple of them.2025 GOALS

Good morning,
Realised I hadn't posted yesterday after I went to bed last night!
Hi Wednesday, glad your move is over.
Shame your trip to coast was rained off Brambling but sounds as though a good day out was still had.
DS2 lugged pots about the garden for me yesterday and I think I'm now happy with how they are arranged.Lots of filling and planting to do now. Doubt I'll get much done today though as rain is forecast.
Last night DS2 cooked Korean style chicken wings which we had with oven chips, peas and sweetcorn. LOs for lunch.
I'm back on cooking duty tonight and making pork fillet in a mushroom & peppercorn sauce with savoy cabbage, carrots and baby spuds.
Aim to do a bit of batch cooking/prep later - make a pan of lentil & mushroom chilli for tomorrow and skin & bone a load of chicken thighs for a couple of dishes I'm cooking this week.

More productive day today, lots of domestic catching up, some as a result of the garden works. I’ve also done quite a lot of food prep for the week.
Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch. Chimichurri cod, potato wedges and green beans with sun dried tomatoes tonight.0 -
I hope there's been no more blood letting today Farway 😬
Today has been a mix of pottering in the garden until the hip complained and sorting out stuff in the spare bedroom, I've a pile of cookery books i don't use which I'm going to take to a charity shop, I'm told I should do one new one in and one outI will probably take a second pass later and declutter more 🤔 i caught up with last nights episode of Beck before dinner
I boiled eggs to make Scotch eggs and realised I had put the FS pork and leek sausages in the freezer on Friday. Lunch was AF fried chicken with peri peri and sesame seeds in the bread crumbs and I chipped the four LO cooked new potatoes, just a small amount of coleslaw and a tomato salad. Dinner was 'crispy' beef stir fry with vegetables and soba noodles. I marinated some YS bavette steak from M&S freeing up a little freezer space as well

Very dull & a bit chilly today, which is good because I have LO savoury mince to use up so fits in nicely with the weather
My neighbour has given me two more black spot bananas, I’ll have them in a cake / loaf later this week
Today’s highlight is change bedding and tidy up the kitchen, I’m a devil for just putting stuff down somewhere handy; I really should have lackeys servants
Food today, lunch, there is one last rasher so bacon roll, Dinner, nuke the LO savoury mince

Good morning everyone,
Yesterday stayed dry until the evening when my did it pour down so got lots done in the garden. It's beginning to take shape now.
It's dry just now but have domestic and admin bits and bobs to get done so hoping it stays that way and I get back into it later. Didn't batch cook yesterday as planned apart from making veggie chilli for tonight. LOs for lunch as cooked too much sauce and veg last night. I was very pleased with the pork medallions managed to get the cooking spot on. I find it a difficult cut sometimes to get right.
