Survived first day back! Cold is slowly improving (taking its time though).
A fairly productive day and not too many of the dreaded emails to catch up on 🙃
Lunch was Mediterranean rice (Lidl pouch) with roasted veg and feta. Made a quick chorizo and chickpea stew tonight, served with toasted pitta.
WFH tomorrow, phew 😅0 -
I hope you both manage shift this lurgy soon
slightly manic today not good for a Monday 🙂 but at least it meant the day went fastjust catching up on Beck before I go to bed, subtitles aren't good this late 😳
Lunch was the last of the Parma ham lurking in the fridge and some Brighton blue cheese with some salad. Dinner was LO lentil and vegetables

Good morning everyone,
Raining again and the cold still lingers. Had hoped to pot up some hanging baskets but I think that will be waiting until tomorrow when the forecast is better.
Off to my sister's for dinner tonight, she making a fish pie.
LO peri peri chicken with salad for lunch.0 -
Rain has stopped and sun is out with promise of a lovely warm day ahead and more Sahara sand on the way for the weekend now the rain has washed the last lot away
Just bimbling around today with nothing desperately requiring attention. It’s car repair day tomorrow, being collected early so need to get up & like I’m at work & on time
Lunch I’m going to try the W8rose thick cut bacon in a BLT sarnie, on offer two packs for £6, hoping it’s nice then I’ll use that for when I’m not able to get to Farm Shop
Dinner, undecided, I have a couple of nice steaks so maybe one of those, HM AF chips + salad now it’s sunny & warm

I hope the bacon met expectations Farway? I stock up at the farm shop for that reason and freeze in one portion packs TBH I don't eat that much bacon 🙂

Day two done. Definitely a bit better again but gosh this lurgy is taking its time to shift! WFH but didn’t get quite as much as planned done due to an urgent request…
Lovely weather most of the day, load of sheets and tea towels line dried very quickly. Turned to rain this evening as forecast.
Lunch was avocado and scrambled eggs on toast. Pesto pasta with sugar snap peas and pan fried salmon fillet tonight.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Lurgy still lingers but easing, glad yours is too JKS.
Trying to be sunny here this morning but it's dry after some torrential downpours yesterday.
Just enjoying a cuppa while waiting for the washing machine to finish then it's potting on/up time.
Lovely fish pie at my sister's yesterday, just the thing for what felt like quite a wintry evening. She lit her stove and I did the same when we came home!
Last of the peri peri chicken for lunch and tonight DS2 is cooking - dal, rice, salad and naan.0 -
Brambling said:I hope the bacon met expectations Farway? Farm shop + freezer seems only option, like you I don't eat much bacon but I would like it to be good stuff when I doThe rain is behaving nicely now, rains at night, sunshine in the day
Today is get car fixed day, local two man band came to collect this morning, phone call a bit later and I knew I’d made the right choice of garage. The rear light cluster has rotted away internally, so he popped a few doors down to the scrap yard for a used [cheap] spare instead of picking phone up to Citroen, yep, that’s the sort of garage I like, doing what I’d do if I could
The Anti-skid brakes are another item, could be expensive day in the end but has to be done
Because of brakes and maybe car delay I decided to get my Asda online shop completed and delivered for tomorrow, I had intended to go to Marks but that may not be an option, and having paid for annual delivery pass its “free” any time of day
Meals today, another BLT sarnie for lunch
Dinner, think I’ll go with the remaining Mark’s single chicken pie, with HM AF chips and nuke some frozen peas

I haven't been on this thread in ages! Almost 1000 new posts since I was on here last. Haha!
I have been cooking for one lately as we have moved house and my husband has a longer commute on top of his usual shift work.
I have been using my air fryer since I moved house and I love it. I haven't used my oven once, apart from the hob.
The last thing I ate was a big salad with dressing and a bit of a baguette. It is quite warm here today and it felt like time for a salad.:)2025 GOALS

Slightly better again today, thanks caronc, it’s certainly a lingerer! Even braved a short swim this evening.
A sunshine and showers sort of a day here. Out to an offsite meeting this morning and then wfh this afternoon. Just about caught up with the urgent stuff but as ever, new challenges keep popping up stopping me getting to my long term to do list 🙄
Posh fishfinger sarnie for lunch when I got home and jacket spud with tuna mayo and a salad after swimming tonight.0
