Good evening.
Feeling worse I’m afraid (took a sick day which is unheard of 😕). Have slept, read, watched telly and not much else.Had some of the noodle salad for a late lunch. Did make the egg fried rice tonight but with chorizo as I forgot to defrost prawns…
Hoping for a better night’s sleep 🤞0 -
Caronc, JKS sorry you're both feeling yucky still
My foot is a lot better thanks Caronc,I got a pair of shoes on for the first time in over a week tonight, although after a hour it was happier when I took them off. 🙂
I came home tonight via T Express about 8.30pm and picked up a less than half price YS corn fed chicken and a 15p red cabbage. The chicken is their finest range £3 rather than £9 so that will be ok for dinner tomorrow,I may spatchcock it to cook quicker
lunch today was half a potato farl from the freezer with a poached egg, I'll have the other half tomorrow. Dinner was goat and cauliflower curry from the freezerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Sunshine today, looking and feeling brighter here, my gouty finger is back to normal colour and the itching has gone, hope your foot is similar Brambling, shoes on is a good first test. And gouty fingers crossed, nose bleed has been OK for 24 hours now, however checking Doctor You Tube seems I must refrain from blowing nose for at least 48 hours, nasal equivalent of not picking a scab I suppose
DR YT also thinks Covid & blowing noses could be at the bottom of some nose bleeds, seems likely explanation to me
Caron & JKS, take care and hope you improve and get back to normal CFO soon
Only thing I have today is a volunteer meeting this afternoon, so I’ve taken a posh Marks YS “put on one side for last Christmas” flan / quiche out to defrost for dinner because time will not allow much prep or cooking.
Lunch, OOD ready to bake baguette with cheeses & salad filling
Dinner, the YS flan, heated up in oven, with HM AF chips and salad. I used the last of my store of frozen oven chips yesterday or I would have bunged them in with the flan.
Added frozen chips to my next order before I forget, a very handy standby for me

Good morning everyone,
Hope you are feeling better JKS.
I'm still lurgified and I think I may have a mild chest infection. If not improved by Monday I'll be asking for some antibiotics. I was supposed be attending a meeting this evening but will join virtually instead.
DS2 away before 6am to head to the office so I've the day to myself. That said I think the most exciting thing I've got planned in his absence is to mop through any risk of him walking on the newly washed bits.
Sunshine and showers here today and cooler than it's been.
LO pasta for lunch and Thai green chicken and veg curry with rice for dinner.0 -
Thanks for everyone’s well wishes - slightly better but still lurgyfied and still off work. Did sleep better last night so no nap today, still haven’t done a lot though and won’t be long out of bed (just watching the jubilee cake competition).
Hope it isn’t a chest infection caronc but if it is,make sure you get those antibiotics sooner rather than later x
End of the noodle salad for lunch. Made pasta with garlic, chilli, spinach and cream cheese sauce tonight (less effort than puttanesca and used up some spinach).0 -
Take care of that chest Caronc you don't need to add to the wobbling with breathlessness
It was a manic day but tomorrow's Friday 😁 our IT team trying to 'help' us managed to generate 500+ System emails today which did cause a oh **** moment before we realised what they wereand could be deleted
I had the quickest telephone asthma review this afternoon, total waste of time but I suppose it ticked a box for them 🙄 at least there were no weight comments
lunch was the half potato farl left from yesterday with fried mushrooms. I spatchcocked the chicken I picked up yesterday which saved on time and electricity and made Delias spiced red cabbage and cranberries (using 25p cranberries brought after Xmas and froze) runner beans, roast parsnip and broccoli. I had three sad potatoes so made mash and froze some along with some of the red cabbage. It was a nice chicken but not worth the £9 I was pre YS even if it was corn fed, his lordship who rarely eats human food did give it a seal of approval 😁 tasted very different from the £3.50 Waitrose ones

Today is W8rose delivery day, arriving around 1ish without subs or missing items, tonight is feast night, not really but it could be should I care to, my loyalty coupons knocked two quid off, they seem to be better now with money off things you use, it was 50p off milk & £1.50 off loo rolls this week instead of what used to be £2 off something you never buy, like pickled larks tongues
I’m going to try some of their thick cut bacon as I’m having trouble sourcing decent stuff without going to Farm Shop etc. I’ve given up on the Asda bacon and even Mark’s is just passable. Oh for the butcher who packed up years ago.
Meals today
Lunch; last bake your own baguette, with cheese & salad filling
Dinner, to some extend this will depend on the dates of my new delivery, I have in mind salad, and use up LO boiled new spuds in HM spud salad and maybe LO bit of cold flan / quiche, but if short dated fresh meat product could be that instead
Brambling, I think I may follow your quick medical review; I have a telephone “Healthy Heart” one due once I get my blood tested, but likewise at least weight will not feature this time, or urine sample & blood pressure. Seems a bit pointless TBH to do it over the phone with three important bits missing but as you say, box will be ticked and move along
Hope lurgy eases for the afflicted

Good morning everyone,
Still feeling meh but marginally less so than yesterday so hoping the lurgy is easing.
Caught on the hop first thing when the guy arrived unexpectedly to start work on the front fence. He'd had a cancellation and as it's dryish decided to crack on with it.
Tesco due soon, one unavailable item I'd asked not to be subbed but nothing essential.
Hope to do some potting on later.
Pork pie and salad for lunch and usual Friday freezer rake for dinner.0 -
Not quite yay it's Friday as I'm working tomorrow, hopefully just the morning
my hot water was fixed today, you were right on what the issue was Farway and as he was doing the service as well he only charged for the part on top of the serviceI've told him he's not allowed to retire anytime soon even if his son will take over. He is also the only cheque I write a year 🙄
lunch was a egg and Parma ham salad, I managed to salvage the end of the cucumber as it went soft at the cut end. Dinner was a repeat of yesterday's roast chicken using all LOs so a ping meal

Feeling quite a lot better today, still not done much but did manage to leave the house to run a couple of errands. Also managed to not have to go back to bed during the afternoon 😂
Don’t know what the lurgy is but it’s a nasty one…
Smoked mackerel pate and toast with veg sticks and cherry tomatoes for lunch. Must be feeling better as did actual cooking tonight and made shakshuka, served with toasted pitta.
🤞for more improvement for caronc and I tomorrow 🙃0
