Not a lot done today a bit of pottering but otherwise I was trying to rest my foot which is still red and swollen
if it's like it in the morning I may go into the walk in centre at the hospital as there is no point in calling the GP tomorrow.
Lunch was a small portion of spaghetti bolognese sauce from the freezer with a sprinkle of cheese. Dinner was trout fillet, asparagus, broad beans, leeks and new potatoesLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Hope your foot is better today Brambling.
Glad you had a good do Farway even if there was no goody bag to bring home.
Drizzling abd chilly here today though the rain obligingly held off last night until after we had finished bbqing and had cleared up.
Some of the grilled chicken with salad in a wrap for lunch.
We're off to my sister's for dinner tonight.

I hope you a a rain free day Farway?I'm afraid foot is getting worse
it was impossible to get hold of doctor this morning so I went to our minor injuries unit and waited over a hour before being told it's not a injury 🙄 at least she wrote on my notes that she thought it was gout but she was not allowed to send me to get a blood test. It did mean when I went into my doctor surgery the receptionist read the notes and arranged the doctor to call me. Then it was back to the surgery where the doctor agreed gout and sent me back to the hospital for bloods which was another hour wait 🙄 so not much work done this morning 😐 and a fortune spent on car parks
at least I have tablets now as dr doesn't want me to take ibuprofen but they come with the warning from the dr of side affects
not good when stairs are a slow process !
So I'm sitting feeling sorry for myself this evening and putting off going to bed
lunch was cheese and crackers on the run. Dinner was beef rendang from the freezer, probably a no no as it's red meat but it was defrosted and too good to waste 😋Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Back in harness after yesterday at Wisley, the rain held off until driving home so all went well, except my ABS warning light came on during trip home, looks like a visit to the garage is next on “The List”, seems it’s one of those things that needs an expensive magic box to diagnose which ABS sensor it is and not a DIY job, even assuming I could crawl under cars any more
Oh dear Brambling, gout pills can have dire consequences I know, I had https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/allopurinol/ once upon a time but never sure it worked or not. Taken off them in the end and all was well for years until my finger came along the other week. I hope it clears soon and you’ll be leaping up the stairs again
Meals for today are lazy options; I was going to go to M & S but CBA this morning, I’ll complete my on line list and sort out a delivery date in the next few days, wait & see what this week’s W8rose offers are first
Lunch, grilled cheese on toast
Dinner, defrosted bangers in AF, make a pot of mash, and open tin of beans

Good morning everyone,
Oh no Brambling poor you <<hug>>
Glad you had a good day out Farway, I hope the warning light doesn't mean a big expense!
Dinner a my sister's last night was lovely, she cooked an aubergine lasagne (JO recipe) which was very tasty.
Grey and damp here this morning.
I need to get organised for the boiler being serviced tomorrow and give the place a sweep/mop to de-hair after pooch visit but apart from that I've not much planned.
Chicken salad wrap again for lunch and lamb keema saag for dinner.0 -
I'm currently housebound, no shoe will fit unless you count a fluffy slipper boot 😐 my lovely neighbour mowed my back lawn today so I went as far as the patio in bare feet to thank him
my £150 council rebate was paid in today and has been transferred to a saving pot for next wi terms bills.Food wise has been a bit CBA today, lunch scrambled egg on toast. Dinner was meant to be cauliflower curry from the freezer but I ended up pushing it around the plate before throwing it away and toasting a couple of hot cross buns from the freezerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Oh no Brambling how horrible, I hope it's eased a bit this morning.
Boiler service today so I'm up and organised early (for me). It's grey and drizzling so not sure what my plans for today will be.
LO lamb curry for lunch and I've sausages defrosting for tonight. DS2 has requested beans, mushrooms and HM wedges which sounds good to me.0 -
Nice & sunny here this morning, with more warm stuff forecast
Welcome to the slipper club Brambling, reminding me of how I went to the doc’s when my foot ballooned up, have to laugh if it weren’t so painful, it’s times like these that the CFO habit of a well-stocked cupboard / freezer pays off. I hope it eases soon but I think it’s down to time and not treatment unfortunately
Caron, fingers crossed the boiler went OK, I’ve had it were it worked but had hidden problems. Not arranged the car repairs yet, trying to sort out a fasting blood test and does it cover uric Acid count [gout] as I may as well get that covered when they are drawing blood anyway
At least I sorted out my online food, Asda delivered it this morning with one good sub and one poor sub which had to go back unsuitable and refunded already
With delivery today’s meals are sorted
Lunch HM burger [mince & burger bun delivery]
Dinner, could be another HM burger with salad, or cottage pie using LO mash, burger seems easier & most likely option TBH
Only real "work" today is trundle the garden wheelie bin around the front in time for collection tomorrow

I made the most of squeezing my foot into a shoe to put the bin out tonight
it hasn't been happy since 🙄 I did get a better night sleep last night, still broken but better than most of the week
but b/day dinner tomorrow will be at my sister tomorrow so I can wear my slippers 😁 I may need a slice of my nephews' lemon dizzle cake to make me fill better 😁
I've ordered a Waitrose shop for Saturday mainly fresh but some tins and cat food to take it up to the minimum spend and I've used my vouchers
I had a smart meter fitted today for electric and gas, although I'm pretty good at the moment so not sure if it will save me much, due to limited kitchen plugs it's currently in the lounge, it may get moved to the spare bedroom
I found a large pita in the freezer so lunch was egg Mayo, cucumber and tomato pita. Dinner was chicken in cider from the freezer with peas and sweetcorn so nice and easy,Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
Nice to hear the foot is improving Brambling, and cake fixes most things of course
I may have to make a W8rose basket up for next week, although the stuff I got from Asda is fine some things just have to be W8rose for choice / variety and quality, at a price of course but the vouchers help a bit
Nice, sunny & warm today, with same forecast for next few days, with spot of garden pottering on the cards, pop a few more sunflower seeds in now the first lot have geminated, can never have too many sunflowers
Lunch, the mince is making nice burgers, but it may be a cheese + salad sarnie for lunch because I’m not sure how far the mince will stretch & I want to have burger + salad for dinner again
Also time permitting I hope to make a banana loaf now my neighbour has given me a couple of her black spot bananas
