Grey day here but none of the forecast rain, my boss who lives 14 miles away had it all instead
It was a busy day for a Monday so we all escaped just after 5 🙂
Lunch was LO fried chicken, coleslaw and watercress with the last of the FS English strawberries 😋 I didn't fancy LO beef for dinner so had bacon, eggs, mushrooms and beans

Awake far too early so been a very long day, in bed now though 😊
I too was out of the door on time, which is incredibly rare. Meant I had time for a short walk before the rain started, only light but very grey and really doesn’t feel very warm anymore does it?
Lunchbox lunch today - a concoction of half a Mediterranean style grains pouch with roasted carrot, onion and courgette topped with pomegranate seeds and slivered almonds. Quick bacon, mushroom and cherry tomato gnocchi tonight with a sauce made of creme fraiche with a dollop of added chimichurri (it’s never ending 😅)
I love breakfast for dinner, Brambling, must put it on my plan soon…0 -
Good morning everyone,
Oh breakfast for dinner (or "brinner" if you're a Scrubs fan) what's not to like.
The rain held off yesterday but my admin took longer than I thought it would so no gardening done. It's dry just now but to rain later so once I've finished my cuppa I'll head out and get a bit done before lunch.
Last night's brown lentil and black bean chilli worked really well, no specific recipe just a bung in and fingers crossed. It make loads though so lots of LOs.
Might be CFO tonight, if so it will be a freezer rake. If not Thai green chicken & veg curry.0 -
Another grey day but very little rain 💦
I popped to the local garden centre for some compost lunchtime but otherwise just a usual work day. Tomorrow I'm back in the office for the first time in over two years, we are taking things gently with two days a week until the end of June when we have a visitor from India for the week. My two colleagues with children are grumbling about going back in, the way the boss is talking I think the plan is to keep it half and half as long as the team is in on the same days. I've made sure there is fresh tea bags and not the ones from 2 years ago 🤢 I've just had a brief what shall I do for lunch moment, until I remembered some lentils and vegetables in the freezer.I used LO beans for lunch and had beans on toast. Dinner was LO beef and soba noodles, the steak was very tender, I must look out for it again even not YS it's a good price especially for M&S and I haven't brought bavette in several years, it was two generous portions with the stirfry veg would have easily fed three 🙂Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
I like brinner and Scrubs, caronc 🙃
Nice, productive wfh day today.Sort of a salad plate for lunch - mixed leaves, tomatoes, pomegranate seeds, some potato wedges LO from Sunday night, some roasted onion LO from lunchbox lunches, half an avocado, a couple of falafels and chimichurri mayo 😋
Swimming tonight so early tea of posh fishfinger sandwich.
Been mostly sunny today with the odd shower but huge black clouds overhead now…0 -
I felt very hungry this morning so I had a tin of soup (a Tesco Plant Chef one) with two rolls with I can't Believe it's not butter.
I made a very lazy curry yesterday with a jarred sauce. It was very spicy so I am going to add some coconut milk to it today and have the leftovers for lunch.:)2025 GOALS

Good morning everyone,
Late night for a week day yesterday as DS2's mate popped by, they were intending to go for a pint but it was raining so just stayed here. I had hoped for a lie in but my body clock had other ideas!
It's supposed to get very windy this afternoon so I've moved all the wee still to be planted pots of annuals so they don't get blown over. I'm hoping everything already planted doesn't get damaged.
There's a small portion of curry & rice LO which DS2 will have for lunch. I'll probably have a salad wrap.
I cooked a vat of tomato sauce yesterday, we'll have some tonight with herby sausage meatballs and pasta.1 -
Back in harness, missed yesterday due to “things” after my blood test I went onto Marks where there were some YS to be had, nice Old English bangers and a not so nice ready to roast boneless turkey joint. It’s OK but a tad too peppery for me, all these fancy dressings. Any how all will be eaten
The problem started after Marks. Car failed to start, flat battery again, and that’s after driving there. I had been thinking of replacing the battery anyway, but intended to wait until MOT time, but my hand was forced. Luckily since my previous battery problems I always carry a jump start booster in the glove box which worked a treat to get me going and home, where I ordered new battery which is being fitted this afternoon. Most odd, same price for fitting while sitting at home as going to Halfords and hanging around, not a hard choice to make is it?
Up early in case my battery bloke arrived early, he hasn’t, I’m number 8 and he’s still at number 4.Made a banana loaf with gifted black spotted bananas
Today’s meals, lunch is Old English banger sarnie
Dinner, possibly some cold Marks YS turkey joint with chips & salad, or nuke my LO savoury mince, or maybe CBA YS cold truly sarnie. With the battery fitting being an unspecified time I don’t want to start prepping and find I’m required
Banana loaf if still a space

Out to my regular offsite meeting this morning (which was long and tedious 🙄)
Got home starving and with a massive to-do list so made a quick cheese and pickle sarnie and had a handful of cherry tomatoes for 1 of my 5. Swimming again tonight so jacket spud with cheese and beans (plus salad leaves on the side) when I got home 😋
Over halfway through the week, hurrah!1 -
your car has been playing up a lot recently Farway, hopefully new battery will fix it
Back to a earlier start for me as it's better to leave early and miss the traffic especially in my work town. Most of the day was spent in the meeting room although I got a walk in via Waitrose lunchtime before it rained. I only needed a few bits. I needed the break before a three hour meeting afterwards.Lunch was lentils and vegetables from the freezer. I popped out before dinner and was out longer than planned so dinner was a bacon and egg ciabatta roll, the rest of the FS bacon has been frozenLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1
