Good morning everyone,
Fab looking F&C Farway, I'm not surprised you didn't need much else after that!
Yes pet fur adds it's own pattern to outfits Brambling lol.
Sounds good greenbee you'll get better use from them by slicing and freezing.
Yes the nights are definitely creeping in JKS though I suppose it's only a few weeks until the clocks change eek!
Sunny here just now but if the forecast is correct it's to rain later. Cold though first thing and still only 8C now.
DS2 is heading out tonight & tomorrow so mean plan as gone awol. Last night we had cauli & macaroni cheese and the lamb jalfrezi will be frozen for next week. While making dinner yesterday I hived off some cauli & cheese sauce and will haveit tonight probably with a baked spud & peas. One cauli left to use but I think I'll keep it for soup next week.
I made ham stock overnight in the SC with the hock skin & bones, it smelled gorgeous this morning. I'll get it strained and reduced ready for freezing today. Might make some more pesto later as the basil is needing trimmed back again if I CBA.
Last of the pea & ham soup for lunch if DS2 doesn't get there first lol, otherwise it will be a sandwich.0 -
Caronc Before his lordship I had a very fat tortoiseshell with a large white belly and a cream British shorthair dark work trousers were a nightmare I would put them on seconds before leaving the house and would still be using the tint roller when I got to work 🙄
Lunch was some goat cheese and herb filo parcels from the freezer, I thought they were my usual spinach and feta one, but I had been using up the goat cheese 🙂😋 with salad. Dinner was salmon, new potatoes and vegLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
This week feels like a slog but we’re over the hump now 🙃
Lunch was quiche, baked beans and bread & butter. Swimming again this evening so a quick pork (LO from the freezer) and kale stir fry, made a sauce from hoisin and peanut butter.0 -
Brambling said:. Dinner was salmon, new potatoes and vegSnap!Dull morning, looks a bit damp but not actually rainingI hope to get those apples stewed today, never got round to it yesterday because I was out mooching in the very warm sun in the garden, far better than prepping apples IMOMeals today are lazy onesLunch, eggs scrambled in nuker on toastDinner, some MFO stab & ping from the freezer, probable some type of Oriental oneOnce I have space & topped up with more meat I need to get old fashioned British MFOs in there really, hot pots & the like.I am back to looking at Cooks ones, cost more but worth a trial I suspect, but until I have space it is just browsingEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
DS2 returned from seeing DS1 with a large bag of beetroot, DIL-to-be had been given a huge carrier bag full by a colleague. I think I'll pickle them.
It's tipping it down here and set to be on for the day. Chores beckon but I think I'll hold off mopping the kitchen floor until after I've sorted out the beetroot!
Last night I added cooked green beans to the cauliflower & cheese sauce from Tuesday. Topped it with sliced cooked baby potatoes, baked for a bit then sprinkled with some grated mozzarella. It was lovely but now have leftovers of my leftovers!I'll have the rest for lunch.
Dinner is tbc but will be cheese-free!0 -
Office day today. Slightly out of inspiration for packed lunches at this point in the week (I think it’s because I’m between salad season and soup season too) so tuna and sweet corn sandwich with some cherry tomatoes.
Maybe some soup making at the weekend…
Dinner was pesto baked salmon and cherry tomatoes with new potatoes and sugar snap peas. Glad to see I’m on trend 😂1 -
Definitely soup season here JKS!
Discovered a CFO portion of pork ribs in the freezer so ribs it is with a baked spud, mushrooms and a corn cobette.
I made three jars of pickled beetroot this afternoon, just need to give it a couple of weeks to mature now.

The joy of CFO left overs of left overs 😁
I had a hygienist appointment this morning it's gone up a lot in 6 months 😐 my usual one is on maturity leave and I felt I was paying a lot to be tortured as the replacement was very heavy handed 😬
i raided the freezer today for meals as I seen to be stock piling HM RMs. lunch was leek and potato soup a left over from last winter soup making. Dinner goat curry which I froze with cauliflower rather than rice (not cauliflower rice as I'm not keen on its texture) and added some LO carrots which needed eating
i do prefer HM pickles but I confess to being too lazy to make them, my mum would be horrifiedLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
Tbh it's something I seldom make these days though I'm contemplating a batch of pickled cherry toms mainly because they are pain to skin for sauce and I'm running out of freezer space. Yes my Mum would be horrified too, every year she pickled beetroot, onions, red cabbage and mixed pickle. Blooming lovely they were too. It wouldn't have been Christmas/New Year without them!0
