Good morning everyone,
I hope you're feeling better today Brambling.
It's a lovely, sunny morning here after thick mist yesterday evening.
I've voluntary admin to catch up with so I don't think I'll get much of a chance to get out in the garden. Just off to to do some meal prep for tonight and tomorrow before the kitchen gets too warm, There's a load of washing to peg out to and then I'll crack on with it.
The halloumi fajitas last night were lovely, a definite keeper. I cut the halloumi into fingers and baked it for around 12 minutes before adding it to the veg mix. LOs for lunch as it made loads.
Tandoori spiced chicken legs with red lentil dal, rice and naan for dinner.0 -

Head was a lot better this morning thanks, with just a slight twinge of left over headache
Lovely warm sunny day here, I went out to the dentist late morning and really didn't want to go back to work. Dentist was pain free other than the bill 😐 although because it was so close to my check up they took the cost of the check up off the bill 😬 and no numbing as it was just repairing a broken tooth
lunch was a pork and apple burger and fried onions (no bun) but wrapped in lettuce leaves. Dinner was the thick pork chop with HG runner beans and courgette chips which were coated in Parmesan breadcrumbsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Glad you are feeling better Brambling
Another fan of grilled cheese on toast here preferably with a good splash of Lea & Perrins and lots of black pepper. I think that could be lunch sorted.
Lovely and sunny here again today but I have another pile of voluntary admin to wade through so I'm not sure how much I'll see of it.
Slow cooked hoisin pork cheeks with vegetable fried rice for dinner this evening.0 -
Sunny here today, up watering at volunteer spot earlier. I had hoped to pick a lot of blackberries from there but a poor showing this year, small & pippy type and not a lot of them. The patch was heaving last year & none have been cut back or down so I assume it's weather related. I have plenty in my garden but extra are always welcomeWent into Co-op while at volunteer spot, nil lettuce as usual, but did get some YS, mini snack pizzas + family size steak pie. Some Pie for tonight and pizzas in freezerOn arrival back home I found neighbour has left me two going over bananas, which I like and she loathes so that's good for me,sliced for breakfastLunch was tuna mayo sarnie + one of the bananasDinner, some of the YS pie + HM AF chips and maybe nuked frozen peas, could go Northern and have gravy with itEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good evening 👋, back CFO after a lovely few days of being cooked for. Even got a food parcel for last night’s dinner ☺️Your meals all sound lovely recently, caronc - was tempted to pop round tonight 😉. Any chance of a recipe for the halloumi fajitas please?Lunch today was a quick beans with toast after a long meeting. Luckily the afternoon was quiet so made a good start on catching up on everything. Made a chicken and veg egg fried rice tonight, quick, easy and tasty. Lunch for tomorrow also made as back in the office.0

I haven't had pig cheeks in a good couple of years Caronc I'm now wondering where I can buy some once I'm back from Dorset I may have to see if I can put a order in at the butchers 🙂
Today was a three meeting day 🙄 so was glad to log off even if it wasn't u til 6pm, it was a shame to still be working when the sun was shining
lunch was a small jacket potato with cheese and HM coleslaw. Dinner was from the freezer 🙂 ragu with LO gnocchi gratin, I'm not sure if I would freeze the gnocchi again but there was enough ragu to make it a tasty dinner.

I may make mash to go with it, + cabbage + carrots given the weatherThe only other highlight is the garden waste wheelie bin trundling round for tomorrow collection, living the retirement dreamEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
You should try pig cheeks Farway they are ideal for the SC, Brambling I hope you manage to find some.
JKS no recipe as such but this is what I did. Cut a block of halloumi into 12 fingers, coat with a little oil then bake for around 12 mins until golden but soft. Veg mix was onions & peppers fried add a tin of toms that had been blitzed with 3 cloves of garlic, a deseeded red chilli, 3 tsp Cajun spice, 1 tsp oregano, salt & pepper. Cook until thick. Add halloumi a few minutes before serving. We had it in wraps with avocado mashed with lemon juice & tabasco, grated cheddar and creme fraiche. It made enough for five wraps but easy to scale down.
Gloomy here today but the sun is supposed to break through later. Typical that now I've caught up with the voluntary admin that the sun has disappeared.
Tesco order to finalise and then I'm hoping to get a bit done in the garden.
LOs of yesterday's pork & rice for lunch. Pasta with HM pesto, HM tom sauce & chorizo for dinner.0
