Yes Farway great news, I do think the double jab has helped as the guys that have got it all have only had one. So far only DS2, the groom's Dad, FIL-to-be and uncle have tested negative. Five are awaiting PCR results though four of those are likely to be confirmed as positive following LFTs. Thankfully although a few are feeling poorly no one so far is seriously unwell.
Hope the fishfingers live to up to there promise.  :)

Good news Caronc, hopefully they're all have time to recover before the wedding or they wouldn't be popular with the bride.

I can sympathise with the crazy work load JKS although I will admit to claiming a prior commitment tonight so I could leave at 5 and found myself apologising for leaving on time 🙄 it gave me time to do a little gardening and picking 6 more mini cucumbers 😬 as well as three more courgettes and a handful of beans. I may have to make a couple of courgette cakes for the freezer 😁

All this talk of tray bakes has made me rummage in the freezer for ideas for tomorrow 🙂 not chicken but I'm defrosting some goat sausages and bacon bits and I'll see where it leads me 🙂

lunch was poached eggs on toast.  I defrosted some tomato and veggie sauce for dInner to go with pasta and a sprinkle of Parmesan grated over the top so a meat free day 🙂

'morning all, sun's but out if a bit weak, already watered the pots out front as not expecting rain in any quantity
Good news on the Asda cod fillet F/fingers, very nice and more of a manageable F/finger size.
Should do well in a five F finger sarnie :) I cooked them in the AF along with chipping the LO boiled new spuds

    Today's meals are undecided, again
Lunch a sarnie, maybe cheese & piccalilli
Dinner, could be another salad, and maybe pop on one of my own tomatoes which are at last ripening

Update, I picked a lot of blackberries from the garden this morning, not quite knowing what to do with them [the apples are not yet ripe] I had a search and found blackberry cobbler recipes, so I've made one

A first for me, it wouldn't win a prize for looks and too hot to sample just now. I'll try some later with tinned custard and report tomorrow

My 4kg cat can lose a amazing amount of fur Caronc  🙄 although the worst was my cream British Short Hair, you only had to look at her to be covered in fur and when she was stressed for example at the vet it would shoot out of her 😲 I would put on dark work trousers at the last minute before leaving the house and still had to have a roller at work 🙂

I was watching a thrush out of the window lunchtime and was worried it was hurt as it was laying down on the lawn, I think it was just full of my blueberries and was guarding the bush 🙄 it allowed me very close before it flew next door but has since come back and is laying next to the plant again, I have warned it about his lordship as I would prefer it didn't end up inside for a visit

Lunch was LO pasta and sauce and I cooked the filling to stuff a giant courgette for tomorrow.  Dinner was a sausage and new potato tray bake with runner beans, I added a small amount of vermouth half way through the cooking and it left a lovely sauce.  Being MSE I stuffed the courgette, added some white sauce from the freezer and mozzarella and cooked it when the oven was on, a portion will be froze

I'll swap cobbler for beans Farway  :D

  • Phew, made it - it’s the end of the week for me 🍸

End of the LO traybake and couscous in a lunchbox today, which I was again very glad of as I ate it between meetings…

It was nearly toast tonight but actually enjoyed making the planned prawn saganaki. Served with green salad (shhh, just lettuce and cucumber) and a freshly baked part baked roll 😋

    Dull but mild out

The blackberry cobbler turned out well, but never having had anything like it before I'm nor sure if mine is correct

it's very odd how it's done, but seems to work, the scone stuff mix rises up through the melted butter which fits my lazy bung it all in style of cooking http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/40351/easy-blackberry-cobbler.aspx  Mine needed an hour in the oven to be crispy topped

Probably a million calories by just glancing at it but as a slight nod to calorie control I had blobs of natural Greek yoghurt on it. I'll try with custard today

    Meals today are use ups
    Lunch,cheese toasty
Dinner, LO boiled new spuds chipped in AF, with salad + ????
Blackberry cobbler & tinned custard to follow later

    Good morning everyone,
Sounds as though it could be worth the calories Farway, my Mum used to make a batter pudding which seems to be the same as the link you've posted. She used to make both sweet and savoury cobblers where the meat (usually minced beef in gravy) or fruit was topped with scone circles and baked.
Enjoy your day off JKS. :)
Infection rate from the stag do is now 12/16 as one of the original negatives has developed symptoms and tested positive. He's been double jabbed + 2 weeks (the groom's FIL-to-be)so hopefully it will just be a mild dose. DS2 is keeping going with the LFTs but so far seems to have escaped.
Winter is a-coming, logs were delivered this morning and the stove's getting swept on Monday!
Tesco have not long been so well stocked again, I thought I might be in limbo as their website crashed last night but it did eventually go through and there were no subs.
Salad sandwich for lunch and tbc for dinner.
