Old favourite of jacket spud with cheese and beans for lunch, wintry food for a wintry day...
Pasta Norma with added mozzarella tonight (because the mozzarella needed using 😂). Now, I like an aubergine but not convinced this is the best way of serving it...In true CFO problem territory, an aubergine, even a small one is too much for one...would usually make double the sauce but I only had half a tin of tomatoes...leftover from something else of course 🤨
So at least I haven’t got to eat pasta Norma again, the rest of the aubergine has been fried off and frozen...will probably end up in a curry at some point...0 -
Farway said:Brambling, I've been to Leanards Lee, it was a bit since and I think it's changed hands & had a tart up since then, there weren't any wallabies then. What I do remember is the homeward journey and the sat nav taking us on a tour of every winding back road in Sussex before we could escape southwards towards Chichester and the tranquility of the A27 roundabouts
when it was sold by the original family in 2010 I think it was the daughter who still came in to feed them, some are semi-wild and live in the grounds and about a dozen with young are kept in a enclosure near the top of the garden. The new owners brought it 2017 (i think) and also own the local golf club and vineyard. I'm local enough that I tend to ignore the sat nav when it tries to take me down the back roads to Chichester
I though about using my lunch break to start ark building but it was too wetI did manage to just get two bean wigwams in the 5 mins between storms lunchtime although the beans need hardening off first. I did manage to move my home insurance and half the price (foolishly I never move it last year) and both this year and last are underwritten by the same insurer (my old company) but the new one is buy the buildings and get the contents free.
Lunch was a couple of crumpet with grilled cheese, chilli jam and gammon. Dinner now when I've finish work (currently waiting on IT to fix a issue so we can go) will be LO rice, prawns and asparagus from Saturday so just a lazy ping and eat before a early night, I'm shattered and it's only Monday

Good morning everyone,
Dry here just now but forecast to rain later on. Yesterday the rain arrived earlier than expected and it was pouring by lunchtime so my planned afternoon in the garden got shelved. Once I finish my cuppa I'm heading to weed and at least make a start before it rains again!
I both really enjoyed the ginger chicken dish yesterday and just as good as I remembered it.
Another Ainsley tonight - Chilli & cheese meatballs. Lunch will be an egg mayo sandwich and fruit.

. Not the healthy planned meals that should've been
Middle of May and my heating cut in this morning, the TV was saying this time last year we were all melting and I can believe that
Breakfast was more easy & convenient choices, toast & marmaladeLunch, I have the other half of the evening ham sarnie in the fridge, I may check that out, but I also have LO HM mackerel pate which needs using up.Lunch will be one or the other, or a nibble of each & rest in the binDinner, will be my second attempt at ham, eggs, HM AF chips [ready prepped LO from yesterday & in 'fridge] & open a tin of beans

Like caronc, completely confused at the idea of missing meals 😂
Made a batch of harissa couscous with chickpeas, roasted sweet potato and feta last night as I have a few days this week where I need “lunchbox” lunches.
So lunch today was one of those and tonight was nice and easy reheat of leftover gammon and roast potatoes and carrots, cooked some fresh cabbage and sugar snaps to go with.0 -

I haven't cooked a Ainsley recipe for ages and I'm tempted with the ginger chicken recipe Caronc maybe at the weekend when I have more time, I have all ingredients except the mushrooms 😁
Nothing new happening here just the same work and rainI managed to avoid being volunteered for working at the weekend, I just need to need my head down until then 🙂
lunch was gammon, HM coleslaw and salad. Dinner LO pork chop in cider and mustard sauce with rice and green veg. I found a cake in the freezer I think it's a lime and courgette drizzle cake so a slice was defrosted for tea 😋Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Sounds like a plan Brambling and I'd recommend the Chilli & cheese meatballs they were delicious. It's meal plan day Chez Caronc so will be flicking through the book and seeing what else I fancy revisiting/trying out next week.
Dry here today and it's supposed to stay that wall all day! Torrential rain yesterday curbed my efforts in the front garden so I hope to make a good dent in the weeding/tidying today.
Salad sandwich for lunch. Salmon, Jersey Royals, asparagus and green beans for dinner.0 -
Dry here as well, with promise of more to come over the next few days, should get the last couple of runners planted out thenBlood test earlier today, actually it was set for this afternoon but somehow I got mixed up and arrived four hours early, luckily my surgery is a human sized one and not some monster practice and the receptionist on today is also a phlebotomist so she scrubbed up and jabbed me there & then to save me returning later. When I read of surgeries with weeks of waiting lists, can't see a doctor etc it does make me grateful I finished up with my little surgery, not quite Dr Finlay but comes close, and it's opposite the chip shop & next to the pub & newsagentMeals today,Lunch was ham & pickle sarnieDinner, stab & ping Iceland veggie lasagneEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Yes the human touch makes all the difference, glad you didn't have to go back 4 hours later Farway.
Front garden is looking far more respectable, far from perfect but certainly tidier. I'm "bended" out now so my book beckons until it's time to sort out dinner.0 -
Nice and easy one here today - more lunchbox couscous and takeaway Mexican tonight 😋
Walked to collect said takeaway which will surely counteract some of the calories, right?Busy work day...0
