    Good morning everyone,
Bright and sunny here but there's a brisk and chilly breeze. It's supposed to quite wet and stormy tomorrow.
I think I might be going out for dinner on Sunday for the first time since November which was when things locked back down locally here again. It will probably just be to the local pub but I'm looking forward to it and know they are being very strict about COVID-safety.
Spring cleaning my bedroom today - I wonder how much hair will have gathered at the awkward bit at the back of the headboard this time?
Yesterday's Jamie Oliver Crispy Chicken was absolutely delicious. The avocado sauce was a winner though I used the end of a carton of sour cream as it was needing used up rather than yoghurt. Super simple to make just well mashed avocado, sour cream, salt, pepper and a good splash of lemon juice and it went really well with the chook.
Pork steaks for us tonight,  I'll marinate them in garlic, rosemary, sage, olive oil and a splosh of red wine vinegar for a couple of hours before griddling them. We are having them with Jersey Royals and salad.
LO chicken with salad in a wrap and grapes for lunch.

    Good morning everyone,
Forecast was for it to be wet and windy today and it's not wrong! The "feels like" 6C temperature isn't great either!
The bulk of the garden supplies are due to arrive tomorrow. They were only ordered on Tuesday evening and weren't expected for 2-3 weeks but the supply folk phoned to see if they could deliver the bulk of it on Friday as bar the chips it was in stock. Thankfully the weather looks a bit better as it will need shifted from the back lane to the garden after delivery.
I'm very stiff after going splat yesterday while turning my mattress and while I didn't think I'd hurt myself at the time some rather large bruises have appeared overnight on my hip. I think I'll be having a fairly easy day today with some gentle pottering to ease the aches.
HM soup from the freezer for lunch and easy naan based pizza for dinner this evening.

Hope the bruises clear soon Caron, I know when I took a tumble ages ago it looked like I'd gone 14 rounds with Mike Tyson despite it only being a light bounce off the floor
We're promised more rain here, and the wind's getting up with weather warnings across the area, luckily my Asda order was delivered this morning so I'm  all set, no subs or missing items either :)
Amazing bag of spuds, just the cheapo Farmers Choice whites but this time they are all decent size and look fine, some could be even used for bakers
That's the problem with on line shopping, so variable results. Of course the spuds may be rotten inside, mustn't judge a spud by it's cover ;)

    Lunch was pate on toast
Dinner, Frozen coated fish fillet [probably cod by not checked], HM AF chips [from older use up bag] and nuked frozen peas
Rhubarb crumble + last of the XCFO Devon cream ice cream, make some more freezer space

I hope you're not too colourful Caronc  :)

work is still really busy but I managed to get in the garden for 45 minutes lunchtime it was windy but the rain held off, just  :#   I wanted to clear out the weeds in the back garden where I put my bean wigwams ready for the weekend, my beans are finally doing something although they may not be ready this weekend to plant out.   My peas will need to go out as well

Lunch was the last of the blue cheese with pear and walnut and chicory salad.  Dinner was a cheese and tomato pizza from the freezer with added veggies and a little more cheese

I’ve only just clicked that I am, indeed cooking for one  now!
I’ve skimmed past this thread so many times but never made the connection. Maybe I’m subconsciously in denial? 😃

anyway, I live alone and every week I stock my fridge was fairly nice food and most of it goes to waste! I have no appetite and no incentive to cook for one person but I can make anything at the drop of a hat if anyone else needs feeding 🤷‍♀️

My goals for this year started with trying to eat two meals a day. Success is about 50-50.

Looking forward to getting my appetite back

Welcome aboard, you'll find plenty here, including cold pizza and left over curries for breakfast B)
I seem to be in similar lack of appetite position as you since i started my medication, just lack oomph these days to prep & cook something, like you I have freezer & fridge full so not lack of options or choice
I've reverted to the CFO style many adopt, which is eat what you want & when you want as there's only you to cater for you may as well eat what you like while trying to maintain something healthy where possible
We CFO folk do suffer from repeats and use ups though, with fridge bottom soup a regular option

Very wet & windy overnight, no damage here though, luckily the trees are not yet in full leaf or some would be down by now
Lunch today, I have my new loaf so could be some of that with Brussels pate and maybe a tomato for a bit of veg
Dinner, pork steak out of freezer and grilled, hopefully with steamed fresh broccoli, carrots & baby boiled spuds and blobbed with butter
I have LO rhubarb crumble should I have a space, with the very last scoop of real cream ice cream
Not a low calorie meal is it? tasty though

    Good morning everyone,
Welcome to CFO 3secondmemory, it can be hard to find the mojo to cook for yourself but as Farway says anything goes when you're CFO :-)
I'm still stiff today but not as achy though the "rainbow" on my rear is pretty impressive!
Garden supplies have been delivered more or less intact apart from a mix up with one of the wood lengths which they are sorting out. If the weather ever gets better there's no excuse now for the garden not to be transformed. At the moment it just looks like a building site/junk yard! I'm not sure if I'll get much use out of the greenhouse so might need to rehome rather a lot of tomato plants unless the weather really perks up and they can take their chances outside.
Cheese & ham toastie for lunch and dinner will either be a fish finger & salad wrap or breaded haddock and a baked spud.

Which is why today's dinner was porridge that and a last minute call from my Indian colleagues at 8pm just before I switched off 🙄 it's was a long work day  :(

    welcome 3secondmemory 👋

I hope you're not showing your bruises to anyone Caronc 😁

very windy here today unfortunately it was recycling day so both myself and a neighbour were outside chasing other people's rubbish around the close this morning our wheelie bins go on the grass verge opposite me. Typically (and nosy) the heavier garden bins were emptied 6am the recycling 2pm 🙄

Lunch was a veggie 'burger' and salad (on offer burgers and will probably not get again 🤔) and a late dinner was porridge and blue berries I cba to cook anything else and it was 8.30pm before I logged off

Farway was it you who said W8itrose was going to start charging for delivery? as they are still showing as free delivery if you spend £40

There's a thread on it https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6265607/waitrose-introducing-charges-for-home-deliveries/p1 but I've just checked and mine is still free  over £40 like yours, presumably depends on how the trials go? I'll have to look closely with a holiday coming up maybe some decent offers if I can time it right with a delivery

More rain & wind but seems to have eased now, a neighbour's fence is down but that seems to be it from what I can see, I'll try & squelch down the garden later just to check

Lunch today, I think it''s use up the Brussels pate time
Diner, bit unsuitable given the weather but I realised the smoked mackerel I bought is BBE Monday, so need to get skates on with making pate & get it eaten, not a hardship  really, however it means today's dinner is peppered mackerel salad, maybe with HM chips or maybe boiled "bay" spuds.
I was intending baked but on closer examination of my recently delivered spuds they are a bit rough in parts so I'm not risking baking one to find out it's manky inside after all :s
