Good morning everyone,
Yum prawn saganaki, I'd have some enthusiasm for that too even if I wasn't feeling 110% JKS.
Grey and drizzling here this morning. Tesco are due in the next hour or so and once I've got the groceries stashed I'll make a start on a pot of chilli con carne for tomorrow. My elder son and DIL-to-be are coming down tomorrow to help my younger son take down the old wooden outbuilding/log store. It's falling to pieces so shouldn't be too hard a job but the forecast isn't promising. Then they plan to use my garage to work on a pallet coffee table they are constructing. It's needing a lot of sanding and not really practical to do it in their flat. The chilli can just heated up as and when folk are hungry.
Toastie or BLT for lunch I think and freezer rake for dinner probably breaded haddock or fish fingers.0 -
Out early on, collect prescription + milk & bananas from Costcutter, at least they still sell bananas in prepacked bags & not priced 25p singlyFound YS streaky in Costcutter, so it's Snap on BLT for lunch Caron, and belated Snap for dinner, mine was Posh breaded cod fillet + HM chips yesterdayDinner today however is another unknown, I still have the LO mince + dumplings but the YS streaky may need eating as it's not "best" even when newI've no problem have BLT for dinner if needs be, but depending it could be sort of Full English breakfast if I defrost some sausages, I have frozen hash brownsThe more I think about ti the more likely it's becomingEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

I hope you've just been sitting and supervising Caronc 😁 letting your boys do the heavy labour
Not a lot happening here other than work 😐 a long day 8am - 7pm with just a few minutes to ping my lunch and eat as I worked. I'm on call tomorrow but hopefully I won't be needed and then it will be a long day Sunday, we told my boss if it looks like a late day we're claiming takeaway / delivery on him 🙂
lunch was LO stir fry and rice, I'll be honest it doesn't taste the same microwaved but it was ok and quick and easy. I was glad I made bolognese sauce yesterday, for dinner I just had to cook the pasta and heat the sauce. It was very nice if I say so myself 😁 slow cooked on the hob with a heel of Parmesan added to it, couple of portions popped into the freezer as wellLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good evening. Really enjoyed the prawn saganaki, and I have perfected making a single portion, hope you enjoy it when it comes round on your meal plan Brambling...
Office day for me today so rest of the tuna couscous for lunch. Naan bread pizza, coleslaw and salad tonight. Glad to have made it to the weekend, been a long one 🙄0 -
Good morning everyone,
It will be supervising only for me today Brambling, I don't want incur the wrath of my "weans" lol.
Dry so far and fingers crossed it stays that way and the kids don't get soaked taking down the old shed/log store. The chilli has been half cooked and I'll get it on to simmer again after I finish my cuppa . I think it I might have been a tad heavy handed with the spicing and will need to mellow it but we'll see how it has matured overnight.
I went for the toastie option for lunch yesterday so I could make BLT wraps for folk today.
Chilli con carne, rice, HM salsa, sour cream and cheese for dinner.0 -
We had the rain here first thing, sun's out now though, it looks like my rhubarb is rocketing up again
, too wet to venture down the garden to check but it looks like another crumble is brewing down there, and I have flowers on the strawberries but because I only grow a few as a taster I'm not expecting a lot from them, just the occasional sun warmed one as I potter
Spent half the morning trying to master my camera using manual lenses, very much work in progress there, sort of prepping for lock down easing & doing something that is more productive than walking round Lidl againLunch was BLT baguette, discovered BBE April part baked lurking which made lunch an easy decisionBecause of the rain dinner is LO warmed through mince & dumplings, which I'm having regardless despite the sun coming outEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I think I can get another crumble worth of rhubarb as well Farway, I'll have to check tomorrow.Weather has varied from sun to drizzle to heavy showers. I had to go into town for my friend in hospital or I wouldn't have bother and was led astray in the farmers market. So I now have frizzy curly hair thanks to getting damp In town 😬 I picked up eggs, chilli jam, wild garlic pesto (using local hard 'Italian' cheese) and Brighton Ewe cheese which is the sheep milk version of Brighton blue which they have recently started to make, he told me it was nicer 🤞 The stall holder has expanded his range of local cheeses from 3 to 8 and now includes sheep and goat cheeses, I resisted and only brought the one kind it is more expensive than the SM but worth it Next time I'm going to try his goat cheese. I brought his wild garlic pesto last year it was lovely but it is probably just as well we're still wearing masksNo substitutes with my W8itrose delivery tonight and it came with a box of free ice cream lollies, salted caramel and macadamia nut, too much salt in the salted caramel for me but they will get finished, i definitely won't buy for nearly £4 for 3, but gratefully received 😁
lunch was using up the last of my old eggs so a quick omelette with the last of some salad bits. Dinner was a roast chicken dinner, with LOs for a busy weekLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Wet on and off here today but did manage a walk into town to run an errand, quiet day otherwise.
Lunch was jacket spud with cheese and coleslaw, dinner was burger, sweet potato fries and salad.0 -
Chucked it down overnight, which must have woke me because I was awake before six and slurping my cuppa by seven with a ciabatta for lunchtime in the PannyRain is hammering down right now so not rhubarb checking todayLunch, strong posh cheddar + sliced raw onion sarnie using the freah warm loafDinner, probably a pizza from the freezer then settle down to my recorded gardening programmesThe talk of wild garlic reminded me of my discovery of what I thought was wild garlic growing at my volunteer place is in fact three cornered leek, which sounds like some lunch ingredients are available for me next time I'm up there, substitute for spring onions, should go well with my HG radish and blood pressure.I initially thought they were white bluebells until someone had a sniffEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good afternoon everyone,
Rain (and beer) stopped DIY play yesterday but today the sun is shining and the kids are cracking on.
The chilli went down well, for a massive panful there are only two small portions LO.
Cheese and mushroom omelette in a wrap for brunch shortly and tonight I'm roasting a thick sirloin steak to slice and serve with flat mushrooms, baby spuds, asparagus and peppercorn sauce.0
