I've just finished the last load of laundry and put it away.

I had crumpets for breakfast and then I had yoghurt and fruit as a snack.

I just went into the garden and it is warming up nicely. I washed my trainers so I will leave them outside to dry in the sun.

I'm making a vegetable and lentil pasta bake for lunch.

    Good morning everyone,
Yes Brambling fake scampi was the most common use for it. It's brute of a fish that's really all mouth and tail with horrible barbs on top and the demise of many a Masterchef contestant the thick membrane round the tail, so it's easy to see why it wasn't popular! You can buy whole ones from the harbour here for a reasonable price but they are a pain to prep.
It's lashing with rain and blowing a hooley here this morning! There's a cupboard in the corner of my conservatory that's been on my to "tidy" list for ages so today may well be the day.
Chicken chasni for dinner tonight from the "The Curry Guy's Bible" book, we are planning to make extra sauce to have with sausages tomorrow.
LO lamb in a wrap with salad for lunch.
  • Well, today’s heatwave was a bit of an anticlimax 🙄

Did get some washing dry and had a nice sunny walk at the end of my working day but it has been very windy, certainly wouldn’t have wanted to be out in it all day.

Lunch was quiche and baked beans. Did twice baked jacket spud with leeks, mushrooms and Stilton tonight, served with roasted vine tomatoes and good old frozen peas 😀

First time I cooked it Caronc I left the skin on the tail, but it was the da6s before the internet 😁

Lovely day here, a shame to be stuck in doors and working 🌞 I did spend 45 mins outside gardening lunchtime, having recently straighten off the edge of the lawn I straighten off the bottom part only adding about a foot to the veggie patch but the wonky edge was annoying me

lunch had to be quick so I defrosted a 'Mediterranean' pita bread and stuffed it full of cold lamb and raw spinach followed by a slice of courgette cake also from the freezer (I have four slices left of the last summer cake   :'( ) dinner was more of the cold lamb with LO HM coleslaw, new potatoes and salad followed by the last of the bread and butter pudding

    Good afternoon everyone,
The wind has finally calmed but it's still pretty miserable out. If it improves later I might potter in the garden but otherwise it's another day indoors for me.
I need to give British Gas a call, the electrician's are supposed to be back this Thursday following February's fault. However, this work is regarded as non-essential and that's still not allowed here. My appointment seems to have disappeared from the website when I checked so I suspect it's been cancelled but they've not let me know!
I made a pot of turkey broth yesterday so HM soup for lunch. Dinner is tbc either curried sausages using LO curry sauce or salmon & roast veg tray bake.

'afternoon all, sorry Caron but it's a beautiful hot day here, blue sky & fluffy clouds, and ditto for tomorrow B)
If I feel up to it I may hack at prune the buddlia in the front before it gets romping away for Spring
Seedlings are outside to start the hardening off process, soon be time for runner sowing, not as many this year though

Lunch was another BLT sarnie, eaten in the conservatory again, I'll have to tidy it soon so it's not like eating in a shed
Dinner, defrosted a couple of bangers, so it's sausages, eggs, HM chips & some baked beans
Yesterday's salmon was good, it was offer from W8rose and I portioned it up, nice non skimpy sizes with two now in freezer

It's really warm and sunny here too. Chris Moyles said on the radio that it is meant to be snow next week. I don't know if he was joking as I don't seem to switch on the news and weather very much these days!

I have had crumpets for breakfast and some veg sausage rolls for lunch. I've had snacks like carrots with salsa and apples too.

I'm going to have jacket potatoes with veg and salad and either a Quorn fillet or veg burger. I need to use what I have left as I have a shopping delivery tomorrow.

I know the temperature is meant to drop again Wednesday but hopefully not snow 😬

Ditto on the weather Farway although I didn't realise how warm it was until I went out for milk lunch time, my dining room is still chilly so I needed a cardi over my Tee shirt

We had a 'rousing the troops' video from the CEO lunchtime it seems we've all done very well 🙄 the team did comment after the call that there was no mention of any pay rise or bonus so no one is holding their breathe :|

lunch was the last of the lamb with salad, if I buy shoulder I usually buy from the farm shop, I wasn't over impressed by this W8itrose one  it was too fatty even for the shoulder, I'll stick to their leg if I get a joint again

The smell of my neighbours BBQ was too tempting so dinner was the last pork and apple burger from the freezer in a ciabatta roll (also from the freezer)  with fried shallots and salad

  • Gorgeous day here, another load of washing line dried and the grass has had it’s first cut of the year 🌞

Hard to believe the weather is going to be as different again this time next week...

Lunch was jacket potato with tuna and sweetcorn mayo. Due to a glut of broccoli and some ancient anchovies in the fridge, I made broccoli and anchovy spaghetti tonight 😋

Bit cloudy at the moment, hope yesterday wasn't Summer B)
The sunshine brought out the creatures yesterday, butterflies, bees & a lily beetle, the lily has only just popped up and along comes a forager :/

Lunch, has to be another bacon buttie, bog standard with brown sauce today
Dinner, salad time today. I've some frying A Angus frying steak in my W8rose delivery, so it's that plus some HM AF chips with salad

I have my Easter invite now I've been first jabbed & restrictions eased, son's family for Good Friday, last year during lock down they spent the summer hols money on a raised outdoor dining area, sort of veranda / decking which will be ideal for outside seating because it's in a sheltered corner & next to house wall
