    Good morning everyone,
Wild again here today, I think we had every type of weather bar fog yesterday and today looks like more of the same.
Tesco is due soon, after weeks of fairly small shops this one's a whopper both in volume and cost though full of exciting things like soap powder, tea bags and loo roll rather treats!
Lunch will be a sarnie and I'm CFO this evening as my son is "meeting" his Dad & brother for a birthday drink, dinner is tbc but something easy.
  • Made it to Friday, another looonngg week!

Filled pasta, sun dried tomatoes and yellow pepper for lunch. Treated myself to posh takeaway tonight - squash tagine and couscous 😋

    Evening all

hope you enjoyed your takeaway JKS I'm tempted to try one from the pub around the corner which offers free delivery because we are so close and has a good reputation.

My dr surgery phoned me this afternoon and offered me a vaccine in town the same day as the one I've booked but later in the day, so I've taken that as I can walk down to town after work if it's dry.  I've cancelled the other one.

lunch was a duplicate of yesterday a ham and cheese salad, using the last of the ham and some nice farmhouse cheddar from the deli in W8itrose last week.  Dinner was pan fried salmon, asparagus, LO veg from yesterday and new potatoes

Quite windy outside with lots of puddles so I assume it tipped down during the night even though I never heard anything
My fridge is looking spacious now the LOs have all been eaten, just one final stale thick crust to go
I've taken a posh FR pork steak out to defrost for tonight, it's large and looks tasty but depends on weather later what I'll have with it
Salad or roast style with steamed veg?

Lunch will be the thick stale crust, maybe topped with grilled cheese?

Yes, thanks, was good and so nice to have something cooked by someone else. I get it from a local small business and have to collect it but I just combine collection with a walk 😀

Another blustery day here but hoping to get out for a bit of fresh air if the wind drops. There is a bit of ironing and bathroom cleaning to keep me busy...

Tuna salad with a part baked roll for lunch and then burger with sweet potato fries tonight

    Good morning everyone,
Up and organised early today so we could head to the harbour where a boat does direct sales for a couple of hours on a Saturday morning. My it was "fresh" down there but thankfully dry. Whole cod, langoustines and mussels duly purchased to cook  for Mother's day, my son is in charge of catering tomorrow. :)
Family zoom tonight for my son's birthday, he's requested "surf and turf" with chimichurri sauce, Greek style spuds and corn cobs. I'll cook tonight but apart from a bit of chopping not too much prep is needed which suits me.
Between the two it's going to be a foodie weekend.  I'm glad we have social stuff happening as today marks two years since my Dad died, we had to drive past his old flat on the way to the harbour and it felt really strange not to be popping in. We'll raise a glass later in his memory.

two years has gone quickly Caronc <<hugs>> sounds like you have a good family weekend planned

Wet and wind most of today with some heavy showers, I was glad I didn't need to go out.  I borrowed my sister and nephew's muscle power this morning and paid them with a chicken roast dinner, I had a SM substitution of a chicken breast joint with mini sausages and stuffing balls.  My sister has decided at nearly 60 that cabbage isn't so bad 🙄 I think she always associated cabbage with the over cooked soggy white cabbage my mum always cooked 🤢 and my dad always made us sit until it was eaten which i only eat raw in coleslaw. I lightly steamed some finely sliced sweetheart cabbage and she went back for seconds and quizzed me how to cook it and what else she could do with it, my nephew just rolled his eyes 😁

No dinner as it was a big lunch just some cheese and a apple

That's just what I thought, it's flown by
Sun's out after yesterday's mixed bag, I was up about 0530 this morning, just couldn't drop back to sleep so got up instead, one plus is I now have a ciabatta in the Panny with sausages & stewed apples out defrosting for today's' meal plan

Lunch is hoped to be sausage, if defrosted, sarnie with the fresh bread
Dinner, time I started on the posh W8rose cod fish fingers bought on offer last year.
Oven cooked posh Fish fingers, HM chips and nuked frozen peas and maybe stewed apple for pud, if I don't make a crumble first

I renewed my car insurance last week, one of C0nfused's inducements for ordering through them was a free Hello Fresh box, the code arrived in my mail this morning, time to have a browse, at least it will be a change from sausage sarnies
I'll cancel PDQ or I'm locked in to a weekly delivery

    Good morning everyone,
Yes it's been a quick two years!
Enjoy the Hello Fresh freebie Farway but as you say cancel PDQ!
We had a fab evening zooming with the family, the surf and turf was gorgeous and I was very pleased with chimichurri I made as the flavour balance was spot on.  :)
I've been spoiled this morning with a very amusing card from the boys and some blue and white enamel ware to add to my kitchen collection.
Fishy dinner to look forward to tonight and apparently I've just to put my feet up and enjoy (aka stay out of the way lol).

Enjoy the pampering Caronc and the seafood  :)

Lazy day so not much different from usual.  I woke with a headache 5am and probably should have got up then for painkillers, in stead I stayed until 7 when I took some then and dealt with his lordship before going back to bed. I think going back to bed was a mistake as I've felt sluggish all day, I spent ages looking for some fabric which was where I first looked for it  :s I was obviously 'man looking' (story Farway:)

I've felt really CBA foodwise, lunch was cheese, crackers and an apple. Dinner a cheese and tomato cheap Iceland pizza with added vegetables,
