Good evening everyone. Very wet and windy here, braved a 10-minute walk to the postbox at lunchtime and that was quite enough 🙄
Very long, busy day so lunch was spicy butternut squash soup from the freezer stash and dinner was jambalaya from the freezer. Thank goodness for the freezer and CFO leftovers 😀0 -
The wind howled through overnight, even woke me up despite double glazing.Still blowy but sun's popped out so chanced it a ventured down Costcutter for milk & bananas, it's quite mild really but with the wind not for dawdling inI'm in use up mode, again, lunch is another fried egg sarnieDinner, HM AF chips with frozen "formed from" cod like fillet and use up half tin of beans. Not exciting but at least it's last of the "formed from" frozen fillets gone at lastEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
We decided to save the cocktails for the weekend and just had a glass of wine with our meal. The schnitzel were delicious.
Brambling if his Lordship likes the Felix brand apparently you can order them directly from Purina. A pal has a very fussy cat and that what she's done as said puss is too old and frail to try and tempt them to change. Thankfully my sister's cat is happy with most brands and flavours.
I'm peering at the screen through a swollen eye due to a blocked tear duct. It's not painful and will hopefully settle over the next couple of days but my is it annoying and very unsightly looking. Not that anyone bar my son will see me lol!
Wet & wild here again today and apparently we have hail, sleet, thunder and lightening to look forward to this afternoon.
Younger son was very happy with his birthday pressies and dinner, he's turned into a keen cook and we had all clubbed together to get him a half decent food processor which he wanted so he was delighted. I also got him Yotam's "Simple" book and some ingredients so I'm looking forward to him experimenting with these
Easy use up cba dinner tonight of pigs in blankets spare from Christmas, baked spuds, beans and sweet corn.

Are we all still here, no-one blown away? What a wild day...haven’t left the house 🙄
Less frantic work-wise and it’s Friday eve!Jacket spud, cheese and beans for lunch. Made creamy sausage, leek and mushroom pasta tonight. Served with broccoli - I do like to have something green 😇0 -
Thanks Caronc his lordship is a fusspot but does eat one variety of felix and a couple of own brands occasionally, I was lucky yesterday as it looked like a box of 48 had been put back by someone in the wrong place, combined with a bigger than I usually buy box of their own brand which was all they had, he's ok for a couple of months, but I may keep my eye out to grab another box should I see one, he doesn't eat human food
.I see you are going to benefit from your sons birthday gifts 😁No weather damage here other than my wheelie bin blown over, it's been quite a nice day up until 3pm and it's been raining since then
Lunch was a ham and cheese spinach salad, the curse of CFO I had to throw away half a soggy cucumber. Dinner was a JO filo chicken Kiev from the freezer, I cooked it in the AF which worked really well, I threw in a few LO new potatoes to make chips and my something green was French beans, tenderstem broccoli and kale. No danger of vampires tonight 🙂 I'm glad I made 3 and froze 2 of the chicken, it froze well raw and meant I could make use of the filoLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
I've recently been eating a lot of spinach, until Mum told me that it can cause kidney stones!! Did anyone else know this? 😲😢"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I'm not sure if spinach actually causes kidney stones but it is on the list of foods to avoid if you have had kidney stones.1

I haven't read that Candy I do eat a lot of spinach especially raw in salads. I'm assuming there are other factors as wellLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1

Still here & not blown away, with only one downpour this morningVery CFO menu today, using up the LO beef stew thing from the other dayLunch, LO beef stew, but I'll call it chunky soup and dunk a stale crust in itDinner, last of the LO beef stew, I'll lob in a couple of frozen Aunty B's dumplings while it's heating through to make it a bit more substantialCarefully avoiding green todayEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
