Thanks for keeping the rain your side of the border Farway  :) it got a bit dreary here but none of the wet stuff

other than usual Sunday pottering in doors I rummaged under the stairs and found a forgotten bottle of champagne 😁 and almost gave myself concussion on the door frame, which is when I gave up and put it all back in 😐

lunch was a mug of broccoli soup with a couple of cookies.  Dinner roast pork, hassleback new potatoes (thanks for the idea Caronc it's been ages since I've done them 🙂) I also did a parsnip when I had the knife and wooden spoon out  :) with LO green veg from yesterday and carrots.  LO pork for a couple of days

Dull out but it's dry at least. If sun does peek out I have a bit of pottering to do
Another ciabatta loaf is in the Panny, trying Allison's bread flour for once, it was on offer for my on line Asda shop, £1, be a shame not to try for that price.
Lately I've been using Co-op BF, mainly because that's where I have been mooching and it's available. Not cheap but it makes a nice loaf

Lunch, if it goes to plan, will be a couple of fresh bread slices for cheese + salad bits sarnie
Dinner, maybe another fresh bread sarnie? I found a pack of posh FR streaky in the freezer when I was rummaging, part of the XCFO bulk buy, I may defrost that & BLT sarnie for dinner, or possibly a frozen pizza?

More Spring signs found yesterday while I was tidying the front, Tete a Tete daffs now opened, always the first in my garden, can't do crocus' cos the squirrels scoff the bulbs :'(

    Good morning everyone,
Fab photo Farway my daffs are still a good while away from flowering.
It's a lovely bright morning here but not to last with wild & wet returning tonight.  I've some bits I want to do including making a pan of turkey, veg, lentil & rice soup and then I'm heading outside for some more garden tidying.
Soup, if it's ready, for lunch and tonight my son is cooking a Thai minced pork dish from a book he got at Christmas though with a lot less chilli than the recipe specifies!

lovely picture Farway, no sign of mine yet but bulbs seem to disappear in my garden I may get a year, sometimes two before they give up  :'(

I didn't fancy soup for lunch so had bacon, egg and a potato farl for lunch. I was too cba to cook what was planned for dinner so had cold pork, mashed potatoes, runner beans and pickled red cabbage and radishes

I made chicken stock from a chicken carcass from the freezer, I'll skim the fat tomorrow and make a chicken soup tomorrow night

  • Busy day so no fresh air or exercise 😕

Easy meals - more of the soup for lunch and leftover roast chicken, roast potatoes and gravy tonight (a simple reheat job except for cooking some fresh carrot and cabbage)

Sun's out but with a cold wind, very deceptive from inside looking out
I finished up with a BLT sarnie for dinner last night, in my defence it was HM ciabatta and posh FR streaky.
The streaky was part of the XCFO package but having defrosted & tasted it I'll repeat that on my next order, it's just bacon without water or odd white bits when cooked

Lunch I think will be rinse & repeat BLT sarnie
Dinner, I've LO boiled spuds so a frittata thing is on the menu for tonight, maybe with side salad

    Good morning everyone,
Very wild and wet here today, what a contrast to the lovely day yesterday.
I've not much planned for today, a catch up with my voluntary admin and some laundry and that's about it. Last night's Thai pork mince dish was delicious but neither of us were keen on the accompanying dip/pickle which was a right faff to make but was too fish sauce heavy for our taste. The dish IMHO was perfectly fine without it.
HM soup for lunch and tonight it's chicken cacciatore, something I've not made for ages so I'm looking forward to it.

  • Windy here too, and the sun gave up late morning. Still haven’t managed fresh air but did do a workout before starting my working day 😇

Another busy day where I was glad of lazy easy CFO meals...goats cheese and pesto filled pasta (ready made) with sun dried tomatoes, leftover chicken and baby sweetcorn for lunch. Egg fried rice with more of the chicken and various bits of fridge veg tonight. Bored of chicken now so remaining two portions gone in the freezer 😂

You can't beat proper bacon Farway  :) I don't mind spending extra at the farm shop for it  :)

lovely day weather wise, first day in ages where it was bright and sunny and when I pottered in the garden lunchtime it was quite mild especially for Feb.  I had a small pack of seeds sent by one of my sisters today, no covering letter just a random package 🤔 she buys a garden magazine which has free seeds. I won't use all of them but will offer to my other sister and anything left like the lemon balm seeds I'll have to think what to do with, I think there use to be a seed swap in town?   I did go through my seeds and worked out what needs dealing with and when and I'll have to get some more compost

I think my sinuses are playing up again, my left eye feels bruised and my balance is a bit wobbly tonight which I think means it's effecting my ear as well  :|

Lunch was broccoli soup with grated cheese,  I've a couple of portions in the freezer and it's as good as the last one. I intended to make Singapore noodles with the last of the pork but ended up making a peanut / satay type sauce instead.  Very taste although it could probably have done with a bit more chilli.

chicken soup has been made for the next few lunches 🙂
