A very frosty start outside this morning, now turned to rain, which i think is snow further north. Very mixed weather the last few days
The chutney I opened yesterday is not really to my liking, too much of a curry taste IMO. I'll give it another go but I can see that heading bin wards

I'm still in use up XCFO stuff, very pick & mix
Lunch could be soft cheese spread [that was for a HM pate that never got made :( ] on toast
Dinner, probably cheesy mushroom omelette [mushrooms were also for above non existent HM pate], + HM chips in AF

    Good afternoon everyone,
Ouch Brambling that sounds painful! I hope it's eased a bit today.
It's perishing here today, just barely above freezing and due to dip once it gets dark. My son has headed for a cycle with his dad but I can't see them going that far especially as he couldn't find his gloves!
I've had a very lazy morning and an indulgent brunch of a toasted bagel, half topped with smoked salmon and half topped with pate and cucumber. I'm now having the cheek to put my feet up for an hour lol! For dinner tonight my has a notion to make potato and spinach stuffed parathas and I'm certainly not going to stop him. I'm going to cook a pot of spicy parsnip soup which should go well with them. Santa brought me a nice new jug blender so a good chance to give it a test drive. 😊 My old one had started to slightly leak and was needing replaced. It was only a cheap one and certainly didn't owe me anything as it was well over ten years old.

My foot is still sore and swollen but has stopped hurting if I'm sitting down, his lordship appreciates the captive lap 🙄  I did do a bit of decluttering of the little bedroom between sitting down

meals were a repeat of yesterday, vegetable soup for lunch and LO Nasi Goreng for dinner with a slice of Christmas cake for afternoon tea 🙂

Bit of wet snow first thing but not settled, chilly of course
I was diving in the crisps last night, two piggy packets, the sooner I get back to "normal" the better ;)
Today is another use up day
Lunch will be the C & O Smart Price pasty which is on it's BB day
Dinner, I'm opening the last pack of smoked salmon that was not used, it's either eat or freeze it, and no point in freezing it for "another day" which will be just postponing same CFO problem
Most likely have the S salmon with scrambled eggs on toast. No Bagels here Caron or that would be my choice
Maybe add a fresh tomato in a nod towards some veg

    Good afternoon everyone,
Smoked salmon  bagel again for lunch (what a chore lol) as like you Farway it's a use or freeze job.
It snowed overnight and lay as the ground was frozen. Just a smattering but very pretty to look at. Apart from the odd patch in the shade it's all gone now.
Another lazy day here, I did an hour or so of voluntary admin this morning and will finalise my grocery order later but apart from that my only "must do" is give the fridge & freezers a quick tidy.
The stuffed parathas my son cooked yesterday were delicious, slightly faffy to make but worth it. The recipe made four decent sized ones, we used two and the other two have been popped in the freezer. They went really well with the HM spicy parsnip soup. Easy dinner tonight of cold bits and bobs with the rest of the soup.
  • Good morning all. Hope the snow melts soon caronc - parathas sound amazing with your soup.                   I cancelled my grocery order that was due tomorrow; fridge is still full and lots in freezer so don't need to add anything except maybe milk later this week.
Just signed up to do low spend/no spend January and set my spending at $250 ..... hoping to get away with much less though. I have ordered the cheap fruit and veg box ready for delivery in January  and paid for it today using money from the loose change tin lol!  Need to photograph some craft bits to sell today and try to make a dint in the credit card.
New year coming and time to concentrate on spending less.

Smoked salmon seems to be catching 😁 unfortunately no bagels here other than a cinnamon and raisin one so it scrambled egg and smoked salmon on toast for lunch.

My sister came round this afternoon to pick up some frozen veg renting space in my freezer, as per support bubble rules she was able to come in for a cuppa and to share a toasted tea cake with butter.

Dinner was pork and apple burger with AF chips and beans

Up at three this morning, somehow I've "pulled" my left shoulder, no idea how, the heaviest thing I've picked up is a tea pot
So a very early shower & cuppa, and being so darn early I watched some of the box set I'm into on on iplayer, Spiral.
Once day broke it's cold, frosty & sunny now, and would be ideal for a well wrapped up walk for brave souls

Due to early start I'm not that hungry, not eaten yet but meals will follow recent days of picking even though smoked salmon has all gone now
Meals today are very much wait & see how I feel

    Good morning everyone,
Bright, crisp and very cold here this morning, we have heavy snow forecast for this afternoon!
Deliveries day for me with both a butcher's order and a Tesco one due. Between those and existing stores I'm hoping to pretty much just have to buy staples and F&V for the next few weeks.
My elder son dropped off two legs of lamb yesterday evening, he was shopping and spotted them RTC (use by 31/12). At £7 each for a large leg definitely worth it. I'll break them down into joints and dice then vac pack and freeze them.
The smoked salmon is finished but the bagels aren't so today's lunch will be a bagel with cream cheese & serrano ham. Tonight it's garlic and parmesan chicken wings, salad and wedges for dinner.
