I think my sister falls under the same tier as your DD Farway although their village was placed outside of the national forest due to its location on Southampton water they can walk to the forest and I believe come under NF council

Sunny day, but the wind is biting.I had to collect a prescription this morning, luckily my chemist though only small is never really busy, steady flow during the day, it's two only allowed inside but so far I've never had to waitMooched into social distanced Cost cutter, nothing really, I was looking just in case there was a YS cake about, for the XCFO 1950s trifleThere wasn't, seems I may have to make one but no rush, the rest of the trifle is in tins so not urgentI did put a loaf in the Panny before I went out, it's now out & cooling in time for lunchLunch will be open the Christmas posh bacon & make a BLT sarnie with the fresh loafDinner, looking at quick & easy here, defrost some posh pigs IB, nibble on them and maybe graze the XCFO cheese & crackers with a sneaky mince pie along the way?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens3

I got my prescription this morning as I got up early and luckily there were only two people in there and so I had to wait only a few minutes outside. It's much chillier here and I needed my scarf and gloves!
I have been very organised and done some decluttering and paperwork as I got up so early. I'm going to watch a Christmas film later. We have the most recent episode of Star Trek Discovery to watch when my husband gets up.
I had a toastie for breakfast and about 4 cups of green tea as it's so cold.
I kind of fancy roast potatoes but then if I make them I probably won't want them tomorrow! I'm not sure what to make for lunch...

A somewhat chilly morning here , we had 14" of snow on Tuesday ready for our white Christmas. Today is just white and cold with no more snow forecast for the next week. January is always the worst month though when temperatures plummet to minus 40 and people are just wrapped up and no time top stop and talk lol!
Today I am doing the last minute cooking bits for tomorrow for the 2 of us, we are a 2 person household but I joined this group when hubby worked irregular long shifts and I was generally only cooking for myself every day! Most of the things I need are cooked and squirrelled away in the freezer - bread sauce, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, etc. Turkey is cooking and so tomorrow I just need the extra veg, stuffing , bacon wrapped dates and sausages.
I see we have another 2 week restriction in place for flights to the UK from Canada - at some time in the new year I want to fly home to see my family. My dad has brain cancer and has been in hospital and care home since July with not a single visitor due to covid and restrictions. I always promised I would fly home at any time but this year that has just not been possible for us.3 -
Sorry to hear about your dad Threepenny it must be difficult for you all
I was going to say the temperature as dropped here, but I'm not complaining as it's dry after TPS comments on 14" snow I don't think I can 🥶
I decided to avoid any shops today although I did go around to my sister for a cuppa and a fresh out of the oven sausage roll, they had to be tested before tomorrow 😁
Lunch was scrambled eggs on toast and dinner venison steak with AF chips and green veg

Merry Christmas 🎄🎄
lovely picture threepenny I'm not sure if it stayed but my brother in N Yorkshire reported snow yesterday, the advantage of being in the SE is just a first this morning.
Right off to make cheese straws to take with me I usually make them Christmas Eve and bake Christmas morning but forgot until I was going to bed, I won't be allowed in the door without them it seems 😁Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin3 -
