Good afternoon everyone,
Lovely to be helping your neighbour as you are Farway, I'm sure she is very grateful
My sister's cat pointedly ignores the Christmas tree most of the time but always attacks it at some point between Christmas and New Year. We say it's a hint that as far as he's concerned it's been up long enough. This year she's having the same problem I used to have with her male pooch - what do you expect if you pop a lovely smelling tree in a room lol. She's now taken my advice and raised it from the ground to reduce leg-lifting temptation.
My order arrived with only one minor sub.It took ages to stash and today or tomorrow I really must try and organise the fridge.
I'm staying out of the way with a cuppa for a bit as my son strings fairly lights from the conservatory roof (his idea!). Going by the muttering it's proving more of a challenge than he thought.
We ended up roasting the small cauli yesterday in oil and jerk spice instead of faffing about making cauli cheese. My it was good and I couldn't have easily eaten a lot more of it. Lunch will be a sarnie and dinner tonight will either be pasta or something else quick and easy as we want to get the tree up and do the final put back to rights in the kitchen.1 -

I hope the fairy lights were put up with no breakages Caronc 😳 I hadn't thought about male dogs and xmas trees 😁 I remember our elderly 18 year old cat misbehaving behind the tree one year 🥺 my mum had a fit and the tree came down 10pm on the 27th in case she did it again 🙀. Roasted cauliflower is my favourite way of cooking it I usually slice it into steaks but I'm tempted to try it whole if I pick up a small one
it sounds like you live in a good road Farway
I woke with a headache this morning which turned into a migraine by the time I drank my tea, complete with throwing up and passing out on the bathroom floor, luckily I only get one about once a year, my eldest sister also passes out when she's been sick due to her blood pressure plummeting so I've assume I'm the same, luckily no one to phone the ambulance which my BIL did the first time she did it. As I only get sick with a migraine I ignore it just don't tell anyone 🤫 therefore food today was some ginger oat cakes when I got up this afternoon and a couple of plain cinnamon and raisin bagel toasted over the course of this evening. I've only got the lingering hangover feeling left now

Oh Brambling sounds like a horrible attack. I used to get vicious migraines when I was in my twenties so can really empathise with the being sick/passing out before they recede and the horrible 'hangover' afterwards . Thankfully they disappeared for many years before reappearing as the silent type as a side kick to meniere's. Hope you feel fully better tomorrow.3

Hope it's all passed now Brambling, at least you know it & are presumably "ready" for the resultsVery mixed news this morning, going by big hints from TV I'm guessing I shall be in Tier 4 come Boxing Day, especially as I'm surrounded by T4On better news Santa + small Elf [son + gdaughter] will be round later for social distanced present handover to GranddadUnfortunately with the wet weather not really suitable to be in the garden for cuppa & chat as was possible in summerFood today, If I get round to it I may make a lump of soda bread & have it with HM Ploughman's style lunch with some of my accrued XCFO cheeses, minus Brighton BlueDinner, bit of a use up before the Big Day, cheesy baked spud, boiled eggs + saladEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

Oh no, Brambling. I used to get terrible migraines a few years ago.x
I just went out to get some bits from the shop and I wanted to pick up my prescription but there was a queue outside. I walked around the block for 15 mins and the people outside were all in the same position in the queue when I doubled back!
I will have to go back tomorrow. I did miss the heavy rain luckily, though.
I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast and I just had a vegan cheese and Marmite sandwich and crisps when I got home.1 -
Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you enjoy your visit from DS and DG even if it is socially distanced. I'm very much hoping it's dry as forecast on Christmas Day morning as we plan to have coffee, bacon butties and Secret Santa in the garden with my elder son, DIL-to-be , sis and nephew. After that my elder son and DIL-to-be will head off to cook dinner for my ex who they are bubbled with and my sis and nephew will stay here for the day. While we can't all be together as we usually do we plan to mirror what we would usually do via Zoom. Christmas will kick of tomorrow evening at 6pm with cocktails and picky food, then we'll do some games before we all sign off to watch a film. Die Hard here I think. 😁
On Boxing Day it will leftovers and more games, my son bought 'Taskmaster' which should be fun and work well virtually.
Easy food again today. Last night was a quick HM mushroom soup with garlic bread and tonight it's Thai green chicken curry and rice.
I probably won't have much chance to post tomorrow so Merry Christmas everyone, I hope it's as good as it can be in the circumstances and I'll 'see' you next week 🎄🎄1 -
Santa & his Elves [DS + children]dropped by, social distanced chat & now gone.I did manage to get a groan from grandson with my awful Santa reindeer joke, why can they visit during Covid? Because the have herd immunity,. Boom BoomAnd now he & I go into tier 4 from Boxing Day, as does Brambling I thinkMy daughter way to the West, New Forest ups to Tier 3Spud in the oven, just need timeEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

I'm feeling a lot better thanks, just the slight remains of a headache which is ok and not bad enough for painkillers
Wednesday I queued for 15-20 minutes last time I picked up my prescription, luckily it was a nice day. My chemist is small so no more than 3 customers, the problem is when people who aren't picking up a repeat prescription wait inside for it to be filled
Farway I hope you got to spend time with Santa and his elf and it wasn't too wet for garden visiting. I see we are both going into T4 Boxing Daynot really surprising especially as a couple of local towns have had high numbers and people from T4 areas have been coming across the border from Surrey to shop 🙄
Fingers crossed for dry weather for your family meeting Caronc have a great Christmas 🎄
Another dull wet day here ☔️💦at least the warm weather means little or no heating required but I would prefer it cold and dry at least you can get a walk in. If I can get my act together I need to wrap the last of my presents to take for Christmas Day, I hate wrapping presents but I don't have any bags left, we do recycle them around the family but I seem to have run out, I do have paper unfortunately as I'm told that gifting in a carrier bag isn't allowed if I want feeding 😁
lunch was going to be eggs but I didn't fancy them so I had a bowl of fruit and Greek yoghurt. Dinner should be a pork and apple farm shop burger, stuffed mushroom LO from Sunday AF chips and some other green vegLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1
