I hope your sil is still doing ok Farway when I was in T Exp 7pm last night for milk it looked like the fruit, veg and meat shelves had been stripped bare and I had to buy a 4 pint container of milk, luckily it had a long date on it

i hadn't heard of chicken handi Caronc maybe one to add to my list to try  :)

the treat of snow didn't materialise, it was just wet again 😐

lunch was a gammon and piccalilli sandwich. I had planned to make chicken, gammon and mushroom pie for dinner but really CBA after work so just made the filling and had with some French beans and carrots, unfortunately a little salty as I forgot the gammon was salty as was the stock cube before adding salt. I may eat the LO tomorrow lunch or make the decision to pick out the little bit of chicken and bin it🤔

Made a loaf in the Panny from a ready mix this morning and it's cooling for lunch
I've made a boo boo with my milk, mixed up the long & short dates over Christmas it seems. :'(
The new one I opened this morning was BBE 22 Dec, tasted & sniffed OK but will not be surprised to have to tip it away & get some fresh, I do have an unopened tin of powdered for emergency but loath to start on it if I don't have to

Lunch will be cheese & salad sarnie using the fresh loaf
    Dinner, nuked LO stew

@Farway I use sour/out of date milk to make scones or soda bread. I freeze the milk in suitable quantities to make a batch of scones.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Bitterly cold here again but it's nice and sunny, we have snow forecast for tomorrow though. I've made the most of the dry and bright weather to get the house aired for a bit. I'll see how long I can bear the chill!
I used up a load of lurking fridge bits to cook a pan of yellow split pea, bacon and veg soup yesterday. It's proper rib sticking stuff to ward off the cold  .
Yesterday's lasagne was really good, I've not put together a HM one for ages. There was a small portion LO which my son has had for lunch. There's lots of ragu left which I'll freeze  for future meals.
Salmon with kale, leeks and crispy potato cubes for dinner tonight.
  • Lovely crisp day here in Alberta, blue sky and no wind. We have not had new snow for 2 weeks so the middle of the roads and paths are pretty clear - the sides of the roads have a large bank of snow where the ploughs left it lol!
Dinner today was chips made from a sweet potato lurking in the veg box from Christmas, a few bits of salad and boiled eggs. Tea will be something from the freezer and then tomorrow is chilli in slow cooker.
Hope you are all staying safe and able to get the shopping etc that you need. I dont think it will be long before we go into lockdown again but currently our numbers are not rising too fast - other provinces are not so lucky and already in their next major lockdown.

Farway that's threat not treat 🙂 I blame my fat fingers on a tablet keyboard :# - one of the advantages of the SE is limited snow the last time three years ago

after a couple of easier days work has gone back to normal with over 7 hours of calls today  :s I was move than ready to close the laptop at 6.20pm  :|  I've reached 'what holiday' stage already 🙄

lunch was a quick scrambled egg on toast.  I tasted last nights LOs but it was definitely too salty so dinner was a lazy jacket potato with beans and cheese followed by a half tin of cold custard  :*

Very hard frost overnight, but sun's out so would be a good day for a well wrapped up walk while trying to avoid breaking a leg on ice patches ;) . I'll pass on that
Completed my on line Asda order, for next Monday, don't need it before then, still have "bits" to use up

My daughter now has tested positive for CV, only to be expected in the same house, the expect three teenage children are next
They all feel fine, with a dry cough & SIL is achy but not bedridden.

Lunch today probably cheese salad sarnie
Dinner, nuked last LO beef stew and wistfully dream of cold custard :)

    Good afternoon everyone,
Cold custard yes please topped with some stewed or tinned fruit if there's any going spare
We seem to avoided the forecasted snow, just sleety and still very cold and icy outside.
I finally seem to be making a dent in the laundry mountain, I've no idea where it all has come from! The bathroom has been given a thorough scrub and I'm ready to get off my feet for a few hours. Lunch will be more of the split pea soup and tonight it's bangers, mushrooms, beans and HM AF chips.
