Evening all
Another day very similar to yesterday and the day beforeI think it will be ground hog day for the next few months although with the army organising vaccinations things might progress a bit quicker 🙂
lunch was LO beans from yesterday on toast. Dinner a fish cake from the freezer with new potatoes and veg. I need to get my act together food wise as I'm not menu planning at the moment so not much thinking going into what I eat, I've plenty in the house so no excuses not to cook. My nephew sent me pictures of what he was cooking for dinner. He had a couple of new cookery books for Christmas so they are trying a couple of new meals a week, my sister is a good cook just not very adventurous so he's easing her out of her comfort zoneLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -

Hard overnight frost again, another reason to stay in doorsBrambling said:Another day very similar to yesterday and the day before

The box ticking on "diversity training" for people to assist with vaccinations is an example, as was the Health Sec turning up at a GP's to see use of Oxford vaccine only to find it had not been delivered. In any other walk of life one or more would be collecting their P45 this morningthreepenny_bit said:gt568 said:In memory of the now departed PN....Naan bread pizza. Was delicious.Lunch, some tinned ham, not something I'd normally buy but it arrived as a sub so may as well eat it, maybe with salad bits or pickle in a sarnieDefrosted a FR gammon joint overnight, I'll pot roast that for dinner and have with HM AF chips, fried use up eggs & LO baked beansIt's a large joint, 1Kg, so will see me into the weekend at leastEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Yep naan bread pizza is a CFO favourite of mine
We had a sprinkle of snow overnight which looked very pretty this morning, less pretty was the fact it was still only -5C at 10am!
Groceries have been delivered, sanitised and stashed. Only one minor unavailable item that I didn't want subbed as it was just some frozen mushrooms for the freezer rather than for a specific use.
I'm for a quiet day, I really didn't want to get up this morning and still feel tired. Typical that the one day I could have done with staying bed longer I had to get up!
HM soup again for lunch and dinner is tbc. My son will get his usual Friday chippy and I'll have a freezer rake and see what I fancy.2 -
Aww I hope PN is ok, n comes back! If not, hope She has found somewhere nice to live x
Another naan pizza lover here.I put all sorts of veggie stuff on mine 😋"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I hope you got a nap in this afternoon Caronc 🙂
i dithered over doing a iceland order as they sent me a £5 voucher to use by the 15th, they only delivered carrots from my F&V order last time so it was 'sorry we failed' voucher. However I only needed F &V and didn't want to add anymore to the cupboards and freezer just because 🤔. So I decided to dash into town lunchtime to M&S and stock up as it would be quieter than town tomorrow. It seems 1.30pm Friday lunchtime was a good time to catch the YSs 😁 with most of my f&v 50% or more off (radishes 10p rather than 75p) I treated myself to cherries £1 instead of £5 and 4 figs for 50pThe only stuff I paid full price was new potatoes and bananas
. I avoided the meat and fish aisles but did pick up some white tea bags for 50p instead of £5 part of their Xmas stock sell off
Due to my lunchtime trip and a 2pm call lunch was a couple of short bread biscuits with a banana. Dinner was going to be Vietnamese caramelised pork however I was missing a ingredient so made my standby Nasi Goreng using a pack of sticky black Thai rice I found in the cupboard and skipped the eggLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
Very hard frost overnight this morning, woke up at 0530 and popped the heating on, back to bed to allow house to warm up before shower, woke up again at 0830A cunning plan failBit like yesterday's meal plans, my planned salad sarnie filling failed because the lettuce [BBE pre Christmas] was rotten to the core, binnedCome dinner time I just didn't fancy much, finished up with fresh cooked gammon in a sarnie and cold LO beans scoffed right out of the pan, the HM chips I had ready for AF cooking are now in the fridge, may use later todayI've got a loaf in the Panny, trying Co-op bread flour this time, it was on the shelf before Christmas and not that much more expensive, so bird in hand etcDue to late breakfast, usual porridge, honey & G Yoghurt meals today will be a bit hit & miss, picking away using whatever I fancyI have the prepped chipped spuds in the fridge, so at some stage I'll AF them & may just eat topped with ketchupThe fresh loaf should be completed & cooled mid afternoon, thinking of fresh bread and cold slices of gammon sarnie for dinner. Not nutritionally sound but CBA CFO, maybe pop a sliced fresh tom in there to tick a fresh veg box?Covid update, all my daughter's family now have symptoms, the teenagers with coughs, adults feeling knackered and report they've never experienced anything like itEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Good afternoon everyone,
Hope your family recover soon Farway <<hug>>
That was a decent YS haul BramblingYep I got my nap and felt much better for it. Also got a bit of a ticking off from my son re doing too much
, he's right but ....... !
It's still baltic here though there's rain forecast to come in later which should warm things up a bit. I've not much planned for today, my son is out for a socially distanced walk with his brother so I'm just pottering about. Later we are having a family catch up via Zoom, games may or may not feature but a glass of red definitely will
Cheese salad roll for lunch and easy dinner tonight of southern fried chicken thighs, baked spud, coleslaw and corn.
