Have you seen/read Rolls' Diary? A shoemaker, of East Lulworth, 1803-1877,.
glad the car lived to see to see another year Farway
I hope you're feeling better Wednesday ?
This heat is so not funny, there have been several villages I drive through on the way to work where over 300 houses had no water from Friday until tonight due to the dry weather, The water company sent out texts asking people to be mindful of how much water we are using. Unfortunately they keep pushing back when it's going to rain.
I've just watched a giant spider run across the floor and under the sofa, it can stay there I'm too hot to catch it and put it out, it was big enough to need a glass popped over it rather than grabbing it 😳
lunch was a naughty slice of courgette and carrot cake with ice cream and dinner slightly more healthy prawn mayo jacket potato with salad

Where are the thunderstorms we were promised?! It's still hot. I had to have the garden doors open until about 1 this morning.
I just had a bowl of blueberries and I'm going to have a bagel with Quorn nuggets.2 -

Good afternoon everyone,
There were a few thunder rumbles yesterday evening but no rain. It's very hot and sticky here today. Cucumbers continue to be prolific with another two picked this morning and a good few more on their way. I'm lurking indoors now until the sun goes over a bit before I go and pick some more blackberries.
Fridge gravel salad for lunch to use up various bits before my groceries arrive tomorrow. From Saturday I'm going probably going to be cfo for a week and as it is to stay warm I've opted for a few easy cook options. Pasta and ragu for dinner, the ragu is from the freezer so minimal prep needed hopefully my kitchen will have cooled down a bit before then.3 -
I think we had your thunderstorms guys.It was so loud last night, then peed it down after.Very refreshing 😁
No idea what I'm eating later, but there's no way I'm cooking in this heat 😯😯"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

It has cooled down slightly and the sky has gone grey so hopefully this will be the rain soon.

We've had 10 minutes of heavy rain lunchtime so not sure how much good that has done to the garden but at least it's brought the temperature down to a very muggy 26 and they are promising a muggy night which doesn't fill me with much joy
Slight baking hiccup this morningi decided to bake a cake first thing before it got too hot to put the oven on, unfortunately it was also too early for my brain to kick in, I forgot to add the mixed spice so grabbed it at the last minute and as a heaped teaspoon hit the cake smelt the curry, yep tandoori curry powder is the same colour as mixed spice and when kept in the same jars
I scraped out what I could and added a generous amount of mixed spice, just haven't been brave enough to taste it yet to see if it goes in the freezer or bin
Lunch was a couple of small chicken thigh fillets breaded and airfryed with salad, not sure about dinner yet I have a small piece of salmon which I took out of the freezer and LO prawn mayo so it could be another salad or as it's cooler maybe another jacket potato with the salmon added to the prawn mayo

Good evening everyone,
Oh no Brambling did the cake end up okay?
Still very warm and sticky here, my son has gone fishing as much for the sea breeze as the vague chance of catching anything
I've just picked over 1kg of blackberries, I already have a largeish tub full in the freezer so they are obviously liking the wet then hot weather we've had recently. My son is going to stock up on cheap gin while he's in England next week ready for bramble gin making. If they keep on at this rate I might have a bash at some vinegar as well.1
