Another too hot day for me I agreed to work a couple of hours today and due to IT issues we have had problems restarting all our servers so that has stretched to over 4 hours so far,  I'm waiting until 8pm to see if it has worked  :| next time i'll keep quiet when they look for volunteers as i could have pulled the holiday card.

Farway I've seen posts on FB from my family about the traffic in Dorset and the police were removing illegally parked cars in Sandbanks (but that could be the money down there have a say in that) and roads around Lulworth and Durdle Door closed and cars being turned around.  I'm meant to be going down at the end of August but I'm not sure if I want to I've time to think about it as I will be staying in my sis & BIL caravan.

Other than work I've done very little today, it's been too hot for me to go outside in it.

Lunch was gammon and salad and dinner was a quick tandoori chicken and salad, I cooked two pieces of chicken so that will also be tomorrow' the tomatoes were from the garden, little cherry and plum ones have been very sweet  :) I did pick a handful of runner beans (and ignored the courgette out there) as lunch or dinner, plenty of tomatoes from the garden to gond they will wait until tomorrow dinner.

Another muggy night but luckily there's a bit of a breeze this morning, still baking though
Thoroughly enjoyed last night's roast dinner, there were loads more beans ready than I thought, so some in fridge & yet more on the vines
I foresee bean & tomato based pasta thing very soon, with LOs.
Not complaining, that is what I had planned for when I sowed the beans back in Spring

Out watering early, spotted neighbours just off to join the traffic queues on the Chichester by pass as they head to Selsey beach. Must be mad
I was right about fig ripening, any day now & I'll pick some more blackberries later today

    Today's food decided
Lunch is Ploughman's, I'll bake a PB baguette to sit alongside the rest of it
Dinner, salad, with a baked spud, one of the pack PN. Using own tomatoes, and if I think of it, some nasturtium leaves
I could do with some of your gammon Brambling but I think I've some trout fillets somewhere, otherwise it's open a tin of corned beef

Yesterday crossed paths with the LL as she was arriving home from a day out.... muttered about having a shower and I said "that'll last 10 minutes before you're back how you are now".  30 minutes later she called out to ask if I wanted a fan.... and she was digging some out of her secret hidey hole cupboard.  She said I was right about the shower and she did now feel no different.  I said yes to the fan. It's a secret fan, I'm not to tell the others.  That was a Billy Bonus!

This morning I've just had 2 bits of toast/marg.  The cucumber's looking super manky, I probably bought it on Fri 31 Jul and it's been in the room here with me since then, just left out on the top.  Still edible though :)  But there is a slim chance I might bin it and buy another one ... but that's a 1 mile round trip so it might not happen.  This one and the previous one weren't very juicy.  The middle/core section was very small and wasn't sopping like cucumbers usually are in the middle.

No idea what I'm doing today.  Can't go out in the sun/I come over all light headed.  Any water bottles I possess are in storage, my shorts are in storage... so I guess I'll just remain here.  Weather seems to indicate it'll be this hot for many days to come.  I have choc ices, I have fizzy pop.... maybe tomorrow is the day to do an early doors at Mr T and get something or other/no idea what except another cucumber.  I've still got the crumpets and flatbreads here, unopened, they have a good shelf life though.  The flatbreads were bought the other day and say 13 August, the crumpets are 12th.

I've still 5 sausage rolls. Had to eat 3 yesterday as the box I wanted to decant them into once opened only held 5 and a pack holds 8, so had to eat 3.   Still got pizza in the freezer.... 3 patties ... 2 fish fingers... 8 choc ices.  I have one hard boiled egg in the fridge (should be eaten today ideally) and 1 fresh one in the pack.... so I should add eggs to my shopping list.   I have cheddar in the fridge.

Not opened the spuds.  Need more beans really, got half a can of beans in the fridge and some cheddar.  Spuds are looking like a mis-timed purchase.  It's not that I can't cook a spud... it's just a faff with being up 30 stairs and going down, hoping nobody else is cooking, nuking the spud, transferring it to the oven, back up the stairs... then down every 10-15 minutes or so to check it, each time hoping nobody else is down there/in the way... then, if they are, getting to the point of getting it out/serving it and "dancing" round whatever somebody else is doing.  In my "own home" I'd just nuke it in a steamer..... but the steamer's in storage.  Steaming them in a nuker keeps them moist and gives a better result than just wrapping in paper towel and nuking completely.

    I'll not starve.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Another glorious day here, a case of enjoy it while it lasts as the weather is supposed to break to tomorrow.
We ended up at the last minute bbqing last night and it was a lovely evening for it. My sis joined us and we sat outdoors until it was dark drinking wine and just enjoying the decent weather. My son enjoyed his hill walk but is stiff today so a quiet day for us both though we might bbq again later.
Brunch was a tasty bacon and egg bagel. Tonight is tbc but if we don't bbq will be gammon or sirloin steaks with salad and spuds.

I found the fish fillet as I thought.
Rainbow trout, defrosting. It's huge, nearly hanging over the ends of my biggest oval dinner plate
While hunting I found a jar of HM 2017 runner bean chutney, had some with lunch
It's OK but not a recipe I'll bother making again, I'll stick with Dehlia's one

Oh, that is funny as I was just saying today to my husband that Lulworth is a place I would like to live.

My childhood friend lives in Dorset and her MIL has a house in Sandbanks. It's meant to be lovely there.

    I hate this heat!

I've had a smoothie, toasted crumpets with Marmite and a vegan burger and a salad today.

I hope you got your mackerel for dinner Caronc  :) I don't think you can beat freshly caught fish,  Farway a few years ago a colleague had the day off to go trout fishing and I joked that he could bring me back one, and he did a large 2lb+  fish which I had to lug the two miles home

Wednesday I love Lulworth Cove and as a child was fascinated by the idea of the road closed sometimes due to the army ranges. By all accounts the tourists yesterday left a horrendous mess all around Lulworth and Durdle Door yesterday  :'(

another scorching day, it seems yesterday a nearby village was one of the hottest places in the country and today didn't feel any cooler. Too hot to sleep last night, I can generate enough internal heat at the moment especially at night without the additional heatwave   :s 🥵.

My courgette free fridge didn't last long as I picked five when I watered tonight, three were handed straight over the fence to next door.  I've picked some pattypans to, although the two plants seem to be producing different colours one the expected yellow the other a very pale green, I did miss one and have picked a giant one, not sure if it will be too tough to eat.

Lunch was the second tandoori chicken breast with salad, I made a fruit/jelly/yogurt terrine and had some for dinner with a Lidl own brand magnum too hot to cook the sea bass I planned.  I put a little too much gelatine in the terrine so it's a little bouncy but still taste nice
