Evening allΒ
I'm officially a two freezer household π after resting for 4 hours it's now sitting switched on cooling down at the moment and seems to be living up to its quiet claim. Β I was a little annoyed as they didn't text me with a timed slot last night, so I was up, showered and dressed by 7am and they texted 7.30 to say it would between 1.30-15.30 π. Β I'll be after recommendations for online butchers please guys π I'm glad I chose black as it doesn't look too obviously in the dining room. Β Tomorrow it will be introduced to runner beans π
Other than a quick dash to T Exp it's been a stay at home and potter day, I meant to weed but cba so the weeds are still waitingΒ

Good morning everyone,Β
Brambling, for meat I mainly use Campbells (great mince, venison mince, brisket, pastrami, haggis, sausages etc.) or Farmison & Co for pork, beef and lamb. Poultry and bacon I usually get via local butcher. I've also used Donald Russell a few times if they're had a steak offer on. Well worth signing up to them as you get pretty decent offers sent through. Worth keeping an eye on Campbells around Black Friday as they often do 40 or 50% off then.Β
Dry and sunny here this morning, no gallivanting for me today just some housework and gardening. My poor flower baskets are looking very bedraggled after all the window and rain. My son is going fishing, just catch and release so no fishy treats for dinner. Meals are tbc depending on when he gets back but I'm thinking veggie pasta or a Naan pizza.Β2 -
Morning all, drizzle here but only enough to make it damp & encourage blight, not enough to sort out the garden wateringBrambling, congrats on the freezer doing as intended. Plenty of space for W8rose YS gammons?the meat supplier I use is Farmers Choice, based at Park Gate, but delivers all over. There is a bit to pop address in to check.Local / ethical sourced meat, flash frozen prior to delivery. So far I've stuck to meat lumps, not sausages / bacon / fish. because pre covid I could buy those in W8roseDid have nice pie but it was tiny & expensive, should I fancy a posh pie it'll be M & S or W8rose in futureI chose FC because of the traceability & ethics, no doubt there are othersMy Panny loaf was super, the sausage sarnie dinner likewiseLunch, bacon sarnie. Getting close to BBE day on the W8rose back baconNow decided dinner will be bacon, sausages [defrost a couple], frozen chips & last couple of eggs, friedMaybe make a chip butty with my loaf?Just typing it is making my arteries clogEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

Farmers Choice is on my list to try, I got an email from them at the beginning of the year advising they now covered my post code π3

Bacon buttie lunch morphed into BLT sarnie. At least I will have had some veg todayCouple of sausages defrosted, it was a fiddly job putting two per bag prior to freezing them, but today I'm glad I did spare a few minutes to separate & freeze in pairsTV licence letter arrived, now they want me to pay to watch.I have seriously considered opting out & not watching live TV but even though I only watch a few bits, like local news & Gardeners' World I think I'd be a nervous wreck trying to avoid catching live broadcasts, especially as I use the radio on the TVSo I'll cough up with bad grace and await the downfall of the BeebEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

Thanks Farway / Caronc some shopping required π
We were meant to go walking this morning but my sister wore sandals and forgot her walking shoes or trainers then said it was my fault for not pointing it out when I picked her up π. We did some gentle walking but not what was planned and TBH it was hot even at the top of the hill. Β We did pick a few blackberries which all seem to either end up in my sister or are now at her house π€
We ended up with fish and chips at the beach for lunch, not sure if they were just very good fish and chips or because they always taste better at the beach π small cod and chips were a Β£5 and a very generous portion therefore other than a half piece of my nephews' chocolate brownie with a cuppa when I dropped my sister off I didn't need any dinner.

Been out and done a quick Mr T "early doors".Β Mostly as I'd bought 8 choc ices the other day ready for this heatwave, but have already scoffed 4... so thought I should stock up a bit.Β Very limited freezer space though... so can't just buy willy nilly, in fact that's why I've not bought any chips yet as even a 1Kg bag'd be too large, especially as it'd be in there 2 weeks once bought/opened.Β
Bought all the "quick/easy/CBA food" I usually buy.Β But then something new.... I bought a pack of four baking spuds.Β My first time... I usually buy cheaper 2.5Kg bags of spuds as they're cheaper/Kg and then I just cook 2-3 (size depending).Β But this time I bought an actual 4-pack, which I've always thought were poor value for money as you're paying for their marketing trick of bagging four and writing "Baking Potatoes" on the bag.Β
Total haul this morning was Β£5.something.Β Β
Bread, flatbreads, crumpets.Β
4 bananas, 4 baking spuds.
Frozen 67p pizza, 8 choc ices.
Chilled 8-pack of sausage rolls.
I've got plenty to pop into sandwiches on a whim: cheese, eggs, cucumber, salmon paste, jam, 2 fish fingers left, 5 sausage patties still to scoff... and, if it's superhot then sandwiches are the way to go.
I've food overload really2
