Scorchio. I had a shower, got changed, tossed a banana, crisps and a drink into my bag.... and by then I was so hot/sweaty that I couldn't face going out in the heat, so I had one of those baking spuds, remainder of the beans and some cheese.3

My people lived/married/died in Lulworth in the 1700s, they were from that region since the year dot, so that whole coastline's dotted with them ... and still are. There are missing records so I can't quite draw the full tree... it doesn't help when everybody has 10 kids and everybody's kids are named after their fathers/brothers and they move about within a 10 mile radius over 400 years.... but the names all match so they're "related somehow".2

It's too hot.
I have to go out tomorrow to get a tetanus injection as I cut my finger when I was at the coast last week and it is really painful and swollen. It will be the first time I've been to the GP surgery in months!
I had cereal with almond milk for breakfast. Lunch was a vegan "chicken" salad made with Quorn. It's funny as when I was veggie Quorn used to make me feel sick. Now it's vegan I can eat it, it must have been the eggs. I wonder if that is why I always feel ill after the flu jab as the vaccine contains eggs. Hmm...

Good afternoon everyone,
It's another lovely day here though we are on stand by for thunderstorms from lunchtime for a few days.
Unfortunately no fish were caught so we had Gammon steaks baked with pineapple instead. Not had that for a while and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Spent some time in the greenhouse earlier before it got too hot. My cucumbers are compensating for the courgettes this year though four ready at once is a bit much. We'll use some tonight in a stir fry and I'm sure I can find homes for the surplus. There's another couple that will be ready by the end of the week. Definitely seeing some signs of tomatoes changing colour but at the moment there's only one anywhere near being ripe. Barring any mishaps it looks as though it should be a fairly decent crop once they get going. Unlike the courgettes the pak choi, mustard leaf and Calvo Nero seem to be thriving on the recent deluges and have pretty much doubled in size over the past few days. I'll pick some later to pop in the stir fry.2 -

Back to work today
after a few bad nights I feel a little wiped out and tonight will be no different heat wise. The forecast has amended from temperature drop and rain from Wednesday to still very hot and maybe light showers at end of the week. The office air conditioning is feeling very attractive at the moment although not the wearing of masks for 8 hours whilst in the office which is company policy.
His lordship had his teeth cleaned today and other than eating has been asleep on the table since 2pm, he's going to be annoyed when he realised I've now shut the catflap and he can stayed in until morning as he is obviously still getting over being knocked out. He did remove the bandage from his leg before I could 🙀 but he has eaten three sachets so is ok. I did feel sorry for the older couple whose dog had to be carried in from the car by the vet and one of the vet nurses, the vet came out to have 'that conversation' none of us want to hear especially out in the open with no privacy, I did leave so I don't know if they would be allowed in to say goodbye but seeing as you aren't allowed in the door I doubt it
PN I have family who worked on the Lulworth Castle estate about 250 years ago, my sister found unpleasant comments from a CoE vicar in the baptismal records of a relative as the child had been baptised in the 'Papal' Church in Ireland she has been unable to find out if the mother was Irish or if they were in Ireland as the estate owned property in Ireland and maybe the servants had gone with the family and the child was born there.
Food wise its still too hot to cook much, lunch was berries, yogurt and a fake 'magnum' dinner was sea bass with runner and French beans and another ice cream

I hate this heat. I just went out this morning to get my tetanus jab and then again to pick up my antibiotics.
I only had a banana before I went out so I had some bread from Coop with Flora when I got in. I bought a falafel wrap from there as well so I'm having that for lunch with some orange juice.2025 GOALS

Good afternoon everyone,
Hope your jab wasn't too sore Wednesday.
Lovely day here and pretty warm. We had thunder and lightning during the night so the air feels a bit clearer today.
Unfortunately my 'wonky donkey' had an outing in the early hours. Thankfully the vertigo has settled and seems to have retreated but I'm absolutely shattered. Consequently my plans to do a fair bit in the garden have been shelved for today. I'll water the garden later but that will be about it I think. My son is off out this evening with his Dad for dinner so I'm CFO, dinner is tbc but it will be something easy to put together. Lunch was a ham and coleslaw sandwich with cucumber sticks, radishes and fresh peas.2
