Loving these new bread thingies.
Just used one to make a cucumber/chicken paste roll; I'll use the other half of the paste jar in the final flat bun and add stuffing to it. Well nice, but only four in a pack, probably calorie heavy too.... 85p for four doesn't make them the cheapest option (compared to a loaf costing 55p), but WELL tasty.3 -
making a fridge bottom veggie chilli today , full of all sorts including wilted celery, courgette ,n carrot .I don't follow a recipe, just bung it all in with tinned toms, beans n loads of chilli n garlic. Will have with crunchy bread 😋

Good afternoon all,
It's a CF1 x2 day here. I had toast for breakfast, eggy bread for lunch and will have quiche, crispy potatoes and salad for dinner. Our cat doesn't like the rain either. She likes to check all of the doors to the outside to make sure it's raining at all of them. I've been busy trying to do as much outdoor stuff as possible but rain has stopped play for now.
Take care all of you.3 -
I made the lentil bolognese for lunch. It was very nice.
I had some fresh pineapple afterwards.4 -
Rain arrived as promised, full roast dinner with grilled pork chop it is then. It's turned quite chilly as well, be nice to have the oven on warming the kitchen up

Good afternoon everyone,
Cold, grey and damp here today so not a day for gardening. Instead this morning I tackled the glory hole that a corner of my conservatory had become over the winter! My attempts yesterday to make some no-sew face masks were awful so it was get the sewing box out time after my son found a couple of easyish ideas online. The practise one worked well so I'll make some more over the next few days. We ended up not having spag bol last night but had pasty, beans and oven chips instead. We'll either have spag bol tonight or stick with the planned wonton from the freezer. Either way minimal cooking prep will be needed. Lunch was a mug of cauli soup with buttered oatcakes.3 -
As it's a bank holiday Monday, I was mindful of the fact I don't want to go to shops and queue for a bit of food, so thought it best to go today to get what I wanted.... Fizzy pop, loaf, bread, baccy were the top items. I also thought fruit, pastes. I also wanted to check out some jelly sweets at the out of date place (allbeit 3Kg of them)... and off I went.
Mr T was the destination, no queue, straight in... baccy, fizzy pop (48 cans). Grapes in the fruit section but they had 0 loose bananas and I didn't fancy a bag of apples... picked up their folded flatbreads and a loaf, bread overload there really, but what the heck. Got to pastes and couldn't muster the enthusiasm to reach out and grab a couple of jars, but I did get another jar of jam. I also grabbed four cans of mandarin segments (as they're nice as a meal and cheap). I predict lots of jam sandwiches for the next 4-5 days.
Then it was off to the warehouse... found the sweeties.... 12 bags of 250g. Opened the first one and they're the nicest "cheap pastilles" I've had, much better than the usual 80p-£1 bags I get from £land or home bargains. They work out at 42p/bag, or just under 17p/100grams.
In short: That's it, stocked up for the bank holiday weekend now... no need to go out3 -
