Well... an unexpected find. Tried one of those 4ldi flat buns.  Not what I'd expected at all.... highly recommended.

There are four in a pack, but they're double.  Each is like two round flatbreads conjoined by a flap, so ideal for making filled rolls as the flap means nothing slips/slides out of the bottom when you're holding it.  There's a definite smell when you open the pack, the chipotle smell. They're not dry, they taste amazing.

I had the first one with sliced cucumber and little tomatoes, as that's what I've got here... then I opened a salmon paste pot and dabbed half of the jar on the other side of the conjoined bready bit.

It was bl00dy lovely.  I'd recommend them for all manner of crunchy salad sandwich combinations, as well as 1960s style cheese/pickle, cheese/tomato, egg/cucumber type of rolls.  Also, great for burgers, especially if you overload those with onions and/or ketchup as the flap (when placed at the bottom) means you don't get a lapfull as you're eating.  I bet they'd be great as a pizza snack too - flap them fully open, load both sides with your pizza stuff, grill or heat up, then flip the top half over and scoff.

85p for four.  Recommended for eating everything with.

A nice find PN, of course if things follow the usual trend having discovered them you'll never see them again
Had a peek at the beef & M stew, looking good, topped up with more water. Dumplings to follow later and it's still raining

    Good afternoon everyone,
The flat buns sound tasty PN.
I don't mind a bit of chat when I'm shopping unless there's a queue! As I only use small shops for odd bits you get to know the staff so there's always a bit of chat.
It's quite cold here today and it's supposed to rain this afternoon, going by the sky I think that might be sooner rather than later. I sampled the banana loaf yesterday and it was delicious as was last night's mushroom risotto. There was some LO risotto which my son had with a poached egg for his lunch. I had made a batch of cauliflower soup in the pressure cooker this morning so I had a mug of that with oatcakes and cheese for mine. Tonight we're having spag bol, the ragu is from the freezer so minimal cooking required later.
Looks as though masks will be the next thing for us, in Scotland anyway. This afternoon I'm going to have a bash at putting together some. Hopefully some of the non sewing ideas on the internet actually work and I don't have to battle over threading a needle 😂.

I had soup and bread for lunch but I was still hungry so I had two burritos with the leftover rice and beans. I wrapped them in the tortilla wraps and oven baked them and then put hot sauce and salsa over the top. They were lovely!

I've put the heating back on too. Feels chilly!

I just caught one of my cats sitting in my pyjama drawer, I don't know how she knew which drawer had the clothes in, pretty clever, She must be cold too. I've put some blankets out on the chairs for my pets just now.

I don't mind chatting to the cashiers I just don't want a running commentary on my shopping especially if they are telling me what I should buy different 🙂 even in the bigger SMs if you go in the same time regularly you get to know them to have a natter.  I used to be a Saturday girl at a  village supermarket where everyone knew everyone so we knew Mrs Browne in her fur coat would come in every day for a bottle Harvey's Bristol cream sherry and the old ladies buying coley and saying it was for the cat 😁

Candy i was in his lordships bad books today after peering out his catflap he made me open the front door to confirm it was raining in the front as well, he sat for nearly an hour on the door mat sheltered by the porch refusing to come in this morning.  His leg will get stiff because of the damp and he'll be grumpy tomorrow 🙀

Lunch was quorn goujons in a wrap with watercress.  Definitely a cba dinner, cold pork the last of the LO braised red cabbage and some LO new potatoes chipped in the air fryer.  Tomorrow I'll try to do better 🙂. I'm definitely a little stir crazy today even through I was on a Skype call all morning I'm another one who misses face to face contact 😐 to wet even for a shouted conversation with the neighbours today

I had my usual sandwich for breakfast. I can't get enough English mustard at the minute.

I'm making lentil spaghetti bolognese later, not sure if that will be lunch or dinner.

Just checked the weather radar, rain on it's way, that kicks my salad plan in to touch along with sorting out the runner beans
I've run out of ripe bananas, one minor problem with not being able to choose my own bananas is having to leave them to ripen up in the bowl. But at least I've got them
Thus it was chopped apple in my breakfast porridge today
Lunch, that bit of LO beef is stretching away, despite me thinking I'd finish it yesterday, it's the final bits today in a sarnie, of course with English mustard Wednesday :)

Dinner, I've taken a huge FR pork chop out to defrost.
Plan was grilled with salad & HM AF chips but the rain arriving after lunch, LO from PN, means I may go for steamed cabbage, broccoli , carrots & frozen Aunt B's spuds
At least I've alternatives to hand

Sorted out shopping list for ND in T*sco, I'll get that to her before the rain starts.
Now I'm getting more fresh veg back in stock I can branch out, T's Finest bacon & T's cheapest custard creams are on this list :D
