I woke up hungry so I put 2 jacket potatoes in the oven. I'm not sure what to have them with. Maybe grilled tomatoes, vegan sausages and baked beans.4

Breakfast porridge was very nice, one of the vagaries of someone else getting my shopping is what they may substitute due to required item not available, the other week it was T*sco whole nut choc bar, very moreish, and this week it's T*sco Scottish oats instead of T*sco cheapo. They are very nice & creamy, soaked overnight & nuked.Rain anticipated so out early canes up and the climbing beans are in.I was standing back admiring my work when I spotted two slugs climbing the canes, the blighters hardly waited for me to step awayLunch will be a fried egg sarnie, convenient & use up eggs, from famine to feast with eggs round hereDinner, if rain arrives it's LO beef stew & dumplings, if no rain, salad of some sort. I could boil up a couple of eggs I guessEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5

Yesterday's scoffathon ended up being: 2 flat buns, 1 pot of paste, some cucumber, some stuffing mix, a jam sandwich, four squares of chocolate and a whole 250g bag of fruit pastilles5

Morning
Breakfast was the usual left over fest so half a burger
Tonight is pasty and beans where I am hoping to be able to warm up a Greggs steak bake without losing all the filling! Not difficult you would think Not the healthiest day but I do make a salad with every meal to try and get some good stuff I have some feta cheese to use up so will do a big greek salad for nibbles.
Bank holidays don't seem too feature for me atm. I used to love April and May for all the extra holidays but as life is just one big holiday now then a work day would be a real treat.6 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Life seems to just be trundling along at the moment and I keep forgetting what day of the week it is! Grey and chilly here with some heavy showers the recent gorgeous weather feels like a distant memory as it is back to layers and lightning the stove early evening. Last night we had the the wontons for the freezer with thinly sliced carrots, cabbage and spring onions in a spicy broth it was lovely, shame my chances of finding more wonton wrappers anywhere at the moment are non existent so it be a while before I have those again 😞. Lunch today was the last of the cauli soup with oatcakes and tonight it's haddock baked with butter and parsley, roasted tomatoes, peas, green beans and baby spuds.4 -
Hello all! Went out yesterday to go to the little pharmacy that also has a postal outlet, no line up at post office counter so posted the card I needed to send oversees. Don't normally shop in the pharmacy but the store was empty. Bought some distilled water, shower gel, shampoo, fresh milk and a couple bags of crisps! Seemed like everything was on sale including toilet rolls - I just didn't need any. I really need to do some proper grocery shopping for salad stuff and fruit/veg but those stores are so busy and not everyone has a good method of keeping distance between customers yet. We don't have online grocery store shopping where I live but some of the stores are catching on and offering curb side collections if you email your order to them ; it is on my agenda to look at this weekend and see if I can get a slot for this. I have now been out 4 times since we started to close down on March 14th - shopping bills have diminished and I am saving money and running down the freezer and cupboards.
We are a couple of weeks behind the UK with our COVID progress and journey so I watch to see what you are all doing before it happens here. Our schools closed on March 15 as a preventative measure and we wont open till September - I am a Preschool teacher so have been off since then. I keep thinking I am ready to retire but these past few weeks show me that I am not lol!

Evening all
I'm assuming the wild weather was a gift from you Farway 💨☔️ As well as torrential rain we had a five minute squall which has battered my poor tulipsalthough the garden does look better for the rain but I'm worried about my poor seeds sown Tuesday washing away
Todays long Skype call was interrupted several times by fighting children, I don't think home schooling is happening with my colleagues, it's very hard when they're trying to work and manage children and just to finish off the disruptions his lordship threw up in my slippers 🙀 He's worst than a toddler if he doesn't get attention and I was late with his dinner 🙄
Lunch was a portion of turkey soup from the freezer, I forgot how good it was 😁 😋 I plan to go to the farm shop Saturday so I'll see if they have any turkey legs to make another one. I worked until 7pm so had gone past the idea of making the salmon and asparagus risotto which was planned and sandwiched a couple of small wraps together with cheese and smoked pork (from the farmers market) and browned to melt the cheese in the frying pan, I'm sure there is a name for it if my brain hadn't gone to bed 😁 I did have a small salad with it

I used to love April and May for all the extra holidays but as life is just one big holiday now then a work day would be a real treat.I loved that as well, with judicious timing and leave taking I could get a fortnight off for only a few days annual leave usageI finished up with the boiled egg salad option last night, with HM cheesy chips though which probably negated any healthy salad benefitThe downpours certainly watered my beans in, and looking out the window it looks like more is due.My CH clicked itself on this morning but when I poked my head outside later it seemed warm enough, so if the rain holds off I'll get more French beans out laterLunch, trying to think of something to put in a sarnie that isn't cheese or salad.I've got some of T*sco posh dry cure bacon now, via ND, but want to save that for the weekend's BLT baguettesDinner decision is clear though, use up LO beef stew & dumplingsI've remembered my Ice£and delivery had Gregg's sausage rolls in there, tempting
