I have had two veggie burgers
I sometimes buy these... in the main I'm usually deeply disappointed.,  I'd typically choose, say, a spicy bean burger... and they're just not as good as they used to be 20-30 years ago.  I still eat them occasionally though, just for a change, just in case I find a brilliant one.
Yeah, they vary. I really like the Bird's Eye vegan burgers.

I used to like the beanburger you used to get from Burger King. I don't know if they still do that one.

    Good morning everyone,
I usually make my bean burgers as I find a lot of the pre-made ones have (to me) an odd after taste. I quite like the Linda McC Mozzarella ones though.
There was an unexpected heavy frost this morning, has it had rained heavily yesterday evening it was pretty icy underfoot first thing though it was sunny for a bit so it's mainly lifted. It's turned cloudy again but dry so far :)
Groceries have been delivered, a couple of subs but apart from that got what I needed and the subs were fine. With an extended household I'm rattling through fresh stuff at a rate of knots.
Tonight it's just my sister and me as my nephew is off out, I'm making us halloumi & mushroom "burgers" with HM sweet potato wedges and various salady bits. We'll raise a glass to our Dad as it's a year today since he passed away.
I think I'm going to be CFO tomorrow and Sunday before they return on Monday for another few days. Puss will stay as it would be unfair to disrupt him again for a short period. He's not a happy chappy though as I had to shut him in when my shopping arrived so he didn't leg it. He's now perched on my kitchen table glaring at the world lol. :D

Another Spring day here, and my Bloody Butcher tom seeds are now up.
Celebrated by buying bag of compost on my L's mooch, I had hoped for another pack of PB baguettes but looks like panic buying has cleared them out, not a problem, I may just make a loaf in the Panny this weekend but I'm OK for bread [stale] so not fussed right now
I bought a £1 basics sweet & sour + rice MFO in Morries yesterday and nuked it for my dinner. It was fine for a quid. Followed by cheese + apple
Today's lunch, stale bread use up, another cheese toastie :|
I've taken a FR gammon steak out to defrost for dinner. I'll marry it up with LO mash, maybe fried eggs on top and possibly nukes some peas or grill a wrinkled tom

Today's excitement other than system testing was our fire drill. Unfortunately someone (not our office) fell on the back stairwell which is concrete 😕. It seems not as bad as it looked but her jean leg was very bloodied. They did call an ambulance for her but was told at least two hours so as the office is so close to the hospital someone drove her there.  I did get cross at another fire marshal who was complaining loudly that we were outside too long and it was cold, just a really bad attitude considering at the time we thought someone was waiting for an ambulance 😡. On a positive note first aiders from other companies rushed to offer help and the company on the ground floor got her blankets.
Took me back to my Fire Drill wound, I cut my paw when smashing the "break glass" emergency door opener thingy, not buckets of blood, just a plaster and entry in the Accident book :'( . Our drills always involved milling around car park wondering what was going on. Fire or a Bomb scare?

It's good timing that your sister is staying with you Caronc, as you say a good opportunity to raise a glass.  Today's the last of the firsts  🙂

i know you must have about three months to go on your rent PN but for your physical and mental health can you afford to look for something better now.  Your living conditions were bad without the added CV risks and pressures.

My colleague coughed in the queue at W8itrose lunchtime today and the two ladies in front swapped queues (result for her) she was smiling when she asked me if I thought it was because she's Indian 😁

It has been a long week and I was able to escape at 5pm tonight 😁🍸.  Easy weekend planned with the exception of my sister and youngest nephew coming to dinner tomorrow night, they are doing me a 'favour' in helping me eat a half leg of lamb from the freezer 🤔. I don't plan to cook anything fancy just roast with the trimmings.

I was obviously much more tired than I thought when I got home last night as I hadn't soaked my oats for breakfast or taken anything out of the freezer for lunch 🙄 so lunch was a crusty bread roll and some salmon pate I also took the opportunity to pick up a salted caramel cheesecake for dessert tomorrow night my nephews' favourite and payment for installing his lordships new microchipped cat flap (I will keep the little **** from next door out) the reduction in cat food and a less stressed and grumpy lordship will be worth the cost 😼)   I was going to make a apple crumble but I was feeling lazy the cheesecake was on offer 😉 not my favourite so I won't be too tempted and he will take LOs home.

Dinner was chicken thighs with HM chips and roasted veg a nice and easy meal

one query if I remove two chicken thighs and a half leg of lamb why don't I have space in my freezer? I'm sure food expands in there 😳

Nothing vaguely suitable is coming to market.  It theoretically exists, but it's not for sale yet.
Nearest has been a nice enough looking little place... up an unlit, private, potholed, flooded road.  Absolute top of budget.
Otherwise, next nearest ones are not where I want to be ... and not nice enough/cheap enough to lure me in.

I had an early night as the meds I'm on make me tired. I woke up hungry and had two vegan sausages with roasted tomatoes and two slices of toast. Two cups of tea too.

I'm about to have a bath and go for a walk. I need to stock up on loo roll as I couldn't get any grocery deliveries until Monday!

Rain early, but stopped in time for me to plant out some shrubs in my Volunteer border once breakfast was over. More rain due overnight so not bothered to water them in
    Lunch was another cheese toastie
I'm off to my grandson's 13th birthday party this afternoon, so at least cake & crisps for dinner. Otherwise I'll see what or if I fancy anything when  I'm back, I've got one chilled MFO sweet & sour chicken left so that could be pressed into service.
Must admit I'm in two minds about CV & DGs party but it's family only so not crowds, his parents are both teachers and are getting concerned if schools close as they have been told they will have to work from home and teach using t'web so no lazing around watching Netflix for them :disappointed:

PN, would it be possible to venture out in the quite times for something hot, early doors maybe?

I was going to order a takeaway pizza earlier but thought I would just cook instead. I made hot jalapeno pepper and pineapple mini pizzas and they were delicious. Nicer than the recent takeaways I have had.

    Good evening everyone,
Shame nothing suitable is coming up PN, as Brambling suggested with things being so dire it might be time to cut your losses and move into different digs that work better for you.
I'm back to CFO :):) , well until Monday assuming no calamities strike! Much as I'm more than happy to help my sis & nephew out it has been an unsettling period for us all and I'm looking forward to it just being me even if it's just for 48 hours. I'm sure they are equally happy to be sleeping in their own beds for a change! Earlier my sis appeared clutching a 9 roll pack of loo roll - she said she was going to buy me some daffodils while she was in the SM but thought these might be more practical lol.  Our local Morrisons were rationing various things but apart from pasta, hand wash (though plenty of bar soap) and frozen chips seemed fairly well stocked. Can't say I was complaining much as I like a bunch of daffs, there are plenty in the garden and with all the extra in the house loo roll disappears rapidly ;)
Domestics this morning and the usual catch up with the never-ending laundry pile after which I've had a pretty lazy afternoon as it was cold, wet & windy out so not a day for gardening. I had lovely catch up calls with both my boys, my younger son starts 24 hours of travelling/waiting at Dubai airport tomorrow evening and is working tomorrow before that, but had a great time sight seeing today well plastered in Factor 50! Both him and his boss are big guys and both fair skinned and my son a red head so not best suited to blistering sunshine! Compared to the petite Bangladeshi people they seem like giants and everywhere they went today local folk wanted to take their photo. Well seeing my son isn't camera shy :D .
Lunch was a ham & mustard roll with sliced gherkins and a few added LO sweet potato wedges which actually worked really well. Tonight I'm going for an easy oven bung in of jerk spiced chicken thighs, baked spud, mushrooms and LO corn & pepper salad. I've popped a couple of haggis stuffed beef olives in the fridge to slow cook tomorrow.
