Weekend for using up stuff,my cupboards are well stocked, does it make me a hoarder or a prudent ,prepared house person?
I only needed to buy milk this weekend and must remember to buy yeast on next shopping expedition.
Sunday lunch, pork chop and roasties, peas and broad beans out of the freezer, followed by gooseberry crumble.Whilst in a cooking mood,I made flapjacks and Welsh cakes, for visitors and workmen!
Monday, porridge for breakfast with frozen raspberries, spicy parsnip soup ,gooseberry crumble for lunch. For tea it was  frozen YS posh fish fingers and HM oven chips with LO peas and beans from Sunday.
Tomorrow I must use up 1 head of pak choi, part packet of mange tout,tender-stem broccoli. Stir-fry and or tom yum soup.

MrsS I think the correct term for people like us is prudent  :)

    Candy  I hope you're feeling better 🙂

I also had a problem sleeping last night although in my case I had problems getting to sleep and was still awake at 2am, the alarm clock went off far to soon and I regretted agreeing to work until 7pm tonight especially as the 'experts' we drafted in to speed up our testing just slowed everything down (I could use the head banging on wall emoji today 🙄). I'm out tomorrow night so I can't work late 🙂.  I did manage a walk lunchtime and enjoyed the sun shine however it's been raining hard since mid afternoon again 🙁. On the way back from my walk I managed to get splattered by concrete from the building site next to the office, from over the top of the hoarding as I walked past.  I was  luckier than the guy just in front of me who got a lot more than me, I CBA to go back down to the site entrance and complain which I might regret if it doesn't wash off my coat and decent trousers 🤬

Lunch was chicken and vegetable soup and dinner a new recipe which I don't think I'll try again, a friend was raving about a recipe where she used mince (almost a burger) for the pizza base, I made it last night to ping tonight and have with salad maybe it was because I cba last night to make a tomato sauce and added pesto instead.  It was nice enough but needs tweaking and I'm not sure if it's worth it it was filling.  LOs for Wednesday dinner

    Good afternoon everyone,
No lie in here just a morning of chores. I think I've more or less caught up with the laundry back log from the kids staying!!
Sunshine and showers here today and it's to get windy again tonight. There's some cold weather coming in and we've a snow warning for tomorrow night!
It's my younger son's birthday today, he's in Bangladesh with work this week but I managed to speak with him via WhatsApp
Making a recipe from the Guardian tonight for chicken and ricotta polpettes (meat balls) though I'm using turkey mince. We'll have them with tagliatelle and spinach. I had  LO ramen for lunch.

Just reporting back that the turkey, ricotta and lemon meatballs were gorgeous, I made a batch and a half basically following this recipe but using https://www.theguardian.com/food/2020/mar/02/rachel-roddys-recipe-for-chicken-meatballs-in-white-wine-sauce turkey mince and LO gravy from Sunday for the sauce. It should have fed six but there's only two lonely meatballs left as my nephew earned his hollow legs reputation lol. 🙃 They were lovely and light and very moreish 😊. I reckon the recipe could be easily scaled to suit CFO and the ricotta subbed with cream cheese if you didn't want to buy ricotta. Made a nice change from my usual ones.

Thanks for the recipe Caronc The Guardian does have some good ones 🙂 I've bookmarked it for when I see some turkey mince (I very rarely see chicken mince)

Farway some of us have to work so no lie in here 😴 also my furry alarm clock has no snooze button 😸🙄

second trip to the local theatre this time to see a play with my sister 'Jane Eyre' I forgot how depressing Charlotte Bronte can be 🥺   Only a small cast and the lead was in every scene

lunch was chicken and veg soup and dinner LO pork stroganoff from Sunday with soba noodles and LO green veg .

Bit of a sort out paperwork day today, nothing pressing but can't keep shoving it aside forever.
Last night's CBA dinner eventually became a plate of HM AF chips with tom ketchup and a couple of pickled gherkins. Very healthy with two veg rainbows right there :)
    Porridge breakfast again
Sown my tomatoes, I'll probably sow some climbing French beans later, loo roll innards on standby
Dinner tonight is planned as cauliflower cheese, I got an offer cauli from L yesterday, all prepped & only needs sorting, and cheese sauce assembling using nuker
Lunch, back to cheese toasty with use up bread

Had to Google the cheese, I'm not a spice / chilli lover so guessing it's not one I'd choose, my taste buds were formed in the 1950s and honed by Vesta curries in the 60s :#

Can't say I'll miss watching those free range pigs in their little arks near Stonehenge

    Good afternoon everyone,
I'm afraid sowing anything hasn't hit my to yet Farway, I'll need to go through my seeds soon though I think I have plenty for this year.
We have snow/ice forecast for later and it is certainly much colder today. My nephew is off to college but my sis is holed up in my dining room working from there today. I was going to hoover today but it has given me an excuse not to lol. 😉 Lunch was the LO meatballs and tonight I'm cooking lovely looking FR pork chops for us with HM cauli cheese, carrots and baked potatoes. I might just make a large tray of spuds and do something with the extra tomorrow. It looks as though my sis & nephew will be here until Friday if not longer so I need to have a think about the meal plan for another couple of days of not being CFO. My well stocked cupboards and freezers have been a godsend these last few weeks. 😊
