Needless to say, I didn't need any further food yesterday after my all you can eat.  I did, however, still manage to greedily scoff a pack of doritos late in the evening (as you do). :)

Today I've had one of the shanghai curry pots I bought.  There is just one more left from that 12-pack and I've another 12-pack in the car so I don't run out.

Popping out in a bit, I'll no doubt go random food hunting in a variety of shops (weather and route depending), so who knows what I'll have later :)

    Good afternoon everyone,
Weather continues to be manky here, I'm hoping it improves later as the last part of my kids' journey is on a narrow and winding road to head from the M74 to the coast. I'll be relieved when they arrive tonight. Chores and laundry swallowed up this morning and I'm ready to have a few quiet hours before my groceries arrive. Lunch was turkey broth and I've frozen the remaining portions. Dinner is tbc, I might be cfo or not so will decide later.

Last night's AF roasties turned out very well, I reckon if served with gravy & a roast dinner you'd have to be Egon Ronay to spot they're not proper ones
In my research for "what'd I use it for" they were high on my list.  Photos I've seen looked excellent.  I've always felt there was a definite gap in the market for ready cooked/frozen roasties.  You can buy some raw, or a bit done... but nobody does fully cooked roasties to toss into a nuker.  It's one of my main motivators for getting an AF to be honest.  It'd be nice to be able to do a few.

For Xmas dinner, the day before, I've been par-steaming them, then ruffling, then into the toaster oven until nearly done, then into the fridge for "the day".  On the day I toss them back in the toaster oven to finish off, but it seems such an interminable wait and faff before they're cooked... and I just figure the AF will do the job more smoothly, a little quicker.

Today: Was out/viewing... popped into the CoOp but all they had that was grabbable was a 6-pack of sausage rolls.  The other day/previously they were 5-bags, these were smaller (fatness) and pastry less puffy.  Maybe they've changed something and are now doing less puffy pastry.  Scoffed the lot.

A bit later on I was in Mr T.... walked out of there with a reduced (59p) tuna crunch sandwich and a 2-pack of cheapo trifles (59p).  I've only got one teaspoon... to eat with. And I've mislaid it, which should be impossible to do as it goes in the pot (noodle pot saved and re-used as a cutlery drawer).  It's not there. Had to eat the trifle with a fork, but that worked out better than I expected.

    Good evening everyone,
Kids wont be here until late as it's been slow going due to rubbish weather and hitting rush hour in all the wrong places. I cba cooking but I have 1/2 a courgette and 1/2 a red onion needing used up so it will either be pasta or a frittata for me  if I can find my veg chopping mojo otherwise sausage rolls sound tempting as I have some HM ones LO from Christmas lurking in the freezer. ! Think I'll be cfo again tomorrow night as they are hoping to catch up with their Dad. The kids. me, my sis & nephew are going out to the local Italian on Saturday night so it's only fair they spend some time with him too.
