How did the viewing go PN?
Lovely little place that would've done.... except, it is on an unmade road, usually sandy coloured/a bit gravelly, with large pot holes.  On the day the road was entirely flooded  .... so I had to drive through it to view.

Oh that's a shame PN, plus the unknown of the road getting adopted or pressure from other houses for drainage works, & huge bill landing at some stage
Parcel still not arrived, but did get round to planting some pansies out the front where I could see any van

S*ds law Farway is usually as soon as you go out of earshot they will arrived or in my case as soon as I pop out for milk 🙄 although I do like it when I'm told that's it was left with resident I picture his lordship taking it in 😁   Watercress was nice and peppery I dislike the Spanish stuff which is tasteless.  If you can't grow watercress try 'American' Land cress as that looks and tastes similar but doesn't need to be in water or damp ground, it does have to be eaten young as gets tough but really easy to grow in pots Wilko use to sell the seeds

PN i agree with Farway re the road, with undoctored roads you can sometimes be liable for repairs, but it's a shame if the bungalow was ideal.  I would have done the same as you and for the same reasons.  I hope you're feeling better today

A lot of the day has been spent in the kitchen, a mix of cooking and tidying / sorting my cupboards and there's now a delicious smell of the turkey drum stick I brought yesterday making stock in the SC, not bad value for £1 - 850g and it needed tackling so I could fit it in the slow cooker, the cleaver was unearthed (which started the kitchen sort out) to take off the end and I still have all my fingers 😳 just don't tell my sister I have one 🤫   Two portions of cottage pie with root veg mash is ready for the freezer as is some cauliflower cheese and I've stuffed peppers, portobello mushroom and a beef tomato for the next three lunches.  Turkey broth will be made tomorrow once the stock has settled, hopefully not quite as much as Caronc made  😁

After all that cooking lunch was toast and marmalade (to finish off both) FYI you can keep crumpets too long in the freezer they go like hockey pucks when toasted so that marred the 'joy' of finding two in the freezer 😂

I took out the Barnsley chop I brought last week and that will go with some LO veg from yesterday as I fancied lamb, the LO beef can be had for dinner tomorrow it will be easier as I've been working late so it wouldn't require too much effort 🙂

It's always about now, when shops are shut, that I dream up all the foods I could've gone out and bought :)
I rather fancy a bit of a quiche.

Oh well.  Today I've had: 1 Shanghai curry noodle pot, 1 apple.

Starving.  Nearly out of crunchy nut cornflakes too.  CBA to microwave a pouch of rice.

Cold's less snotty and less sneezy today....

Been fishy time here for the last few days. Friday was of course fishandchipsnomatterwhat with the added bonus that we got a free bag of breadcakes from the baker next to the chippy. Saturday breakfast was boil in the bag kippers - same old/same old from Waitrose, but the best one I'd had in years - spine & dorsal fin removed leaving only the whiskers (fine bones) and tasty too, with stale bread toasted. Saturday tea was going to be LO mashed potato with some smoked haddock, but CBA, so Mrs Un kindly turned the potato into a kind of aloo chop, and the haddock was postponed until tonight which I had with pak choi thai fish seaweed sauce & lots of parsley - I would have added noodles but CBA. Missed the oyster sauce. Mrs Un threw it out because it was close to ten years old. Can always buy more...

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Got up and went out for early doors at the Breakfast place :)
Had: 4 sausages, 2 fried eggs, 1 piece of toast topped with a big scoop and a half of beans, 2 tinned tomatoes, a small portion of their potato/onion/bacon/cheese hash, 2 hash browns.
Sat and pondered the concept of going back for more, but couldn't pick just one item to get and I felt I was probably entering the "wafer thin mint" territory.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRpt4a6H99c

After that I did a round robin of Home Bargains (sweeties, naan breads), Iceland Food Warehouse (fizzy pop) and then the Out of Date food place (noodle pots and flavoured instant mash).

I've had two cups of builder's tea, two toasted crumpets with raspberry jam. I then had a packet of ready salted crisps and two satsumas.

Sparkling water and green tea too.

I have more of my HM bean soup for lunch.

Sudden decision to go out for the day, sun came out so off to RHS Wisley after porridge breakfast
Just a cup of hot choc on arrival, nice walk round with daffs & crocus out.
Pub lunch, ham baguette, came with chips & a bit of salad, ample for me. I may have some cheese & crackers or similar later tonight

    Good evening everyone,
Lovely photo Farway, wish we had weather like that here!:)
Sounds a sensible decision re the house PN :)
CFO has resumed for me though possibly only temporarily as my sister's cat is back with me for a few days and my sis & nephew might be following tomorrow as their renovations are resuming it will depend on the level of chaos!!
I had a lovely few days with the kids though the weather was truly awful. On Saturday evening we braved the elements to go for dinner. The food was excellent but the service was appalling, I can't see the place surviving much longer if they can't get their act together. Due to the weather the place was far from full and yet the kitchen clearly couldn't cope to the extent my ex-chef elder son was twitching to go in and do a "Gordon Ramsay" though resisted LOL! It's a shame as my starter was some of the best cooked calamari I've had in the UK! Yesterday we cooked at home and made slow cooked brisket to pull and have in soft corn tortillas with HM red cabbage coleslaw, corn cobs, chipotle mayo and HM sweet & white potato wedges . The kids did most of the cooking and it was all gorgeous though my D-I-L to be made enough coleslaw to feed an army :) . It was a  big piece of decent beef (just under 2kg ) so little shrinkage or waste, only five of us for dinner and today there was just enough LO for me to have for lunch :o . Tonight I'm using up the spare tacos to make quesadillas filled with cajun spiced mashed sweet potato & cheese which I'll have with LO corn & coleslaw.  I thought MasterChef would be back on but seems we are only getting two episodes this week...….
