The courgette had gone squishy and was past salvaging and the onion will be fine for a bit so stovies from the freezer with peas and instant gravy it is4

Farway there's a big W8itrose next to the office which some days seems to give good reductions and YS 1.30pm ish I'm not sure if it's because it's next to the station and near lots of businesses that they do more trade during the day than the evening. Sometimes on the fresh counters it's only a £1 or £2 off a kilo and then it's not worth it but if I'm lucky I can pick it up half prize. I think it depends on what day it is and the manager but I've never worked out what day is best it's a bit hit and miss
My late night at work didn't happen 🙂 I think my colleague put her foot down at starting it lunch time and finishing late, by the time I got into work at 9.30pm after the hygienist she had got into work at 7.30am and started the work and told the manager how it was going to be when he got in 😮 😁
I could have done without my hygienist bill this morning but I bumped into two ex work colleagues in the waiting room when I came out, we usually try and have coffee every couple of months, they're both now retired so very busy 🤣 but we haven't managed it since October so nice for a quick catch up and arranging a date to meet up. Quite a coincidence that all three of us were there at 9am today 🙂.
Lunch made me slightly unpopular today, LO dinner from last night which included smoked cod 😱 not my best idea 😬. Thinking I wasn't going to be home until very late I hadn't planned dinner so quickly air fried some HM chips with some scampi I unearthed from the freezer with sweetcorn, so a real CBA dinner
The cheeky PITA from next door visited twice before 7.30am this morning after a early breakfast 🙄 I got hissed at for picking him up and throwing him out. I temporarily locked the cat flap so his lordship could eat in peace and forgot to open it again before going to work, I wasn't popular shutting him in all day 🙀 I also left a light on all day which annoyed me 😐

It's raining today and I'm not terribly well. Got a bit of a chesty cough, snotty cold. I've got some honey nut cornflakes here and a noodle pot, so they're prime candidates for today's menu.4

I hope you feel better soon PN.
It's pouring here as well.
I have had grapes, tea and a vegan BLT. I had a really early night so I feel hungry.
I made roasted seasoned chickpeas earlier but I will have them for lunch instead before I go out. I will have some more fresh fruit too. I have passion fruit, bananas and easy peelers clems in my fruit bowl.2025 GOALS

Tipping down here, PN's LOs & storm Jorge?L's first thing, nothing YS worth having, somehow L's posh choc on offer found it's way into my trolley, rang up at correct offer price this week, they must be losing their gripThe CH boiler has busted [fan duff] at volunteering, freezing in there which made me fancy hot comfort food, avoided chippy on way home thoughLunch, back to cheese toastieDinner, will be comfort food, oiked a singles mince & onion YS [June 2019] pie out to defrost, I think it''l be with HM AF chips, may even go Northern and add some gravy to chipscaronc said:The courgette had gone squishy and was past salvagingPasturesNew said:and I'm not terribly well. Good evening everyone,
Hope you are feeling better PN 🤗
Yep cues and large courgettes are a CFO nightmare, too much to use at once but perfectly fine one day and liquifying the next 🤢. I do like both though so buy them but they are probably the foodstuff that is most likely to have portions go to waste in my kitchen.
It's dried up now but it's been another day of lumpy rain! Looks like a only temporary improvement as it's to get wild again tomorrow. My elder son & his fiancée got here safely late yesterday evening after a long & tiring drive, younger son is on his way but heading straight to his Dad's for the evening. We've had a pretty lazy day after not getting to bed to the early hours - too busy catching up! Washing machine has been on overdrive as my son was working in London all week and is back there on Tuesday for a few days so no chance to get clean things and I'm still catching up from my sis & nephew being here. At least he'll do his own ironing when it's dry.....
Lunch was ham & cheese salad wraps and as I'm CFO tonight I'm having my favourite oven bung-in of chicken thighs and roast veggies. The lurking 1/2 a red onion has been joined by half a red pepper spare from lunch so that will use these up. Tomorrow the kids will probably want lorne sausage & tattie scones so I've made sure I have plenty of those in and we are out for dinner in the evening. My younger son heads back on Sunday so unless arrangements change it will be the three of us on Sunday night for probably a roast, casserole or similar if we can decide what needs defrosting tomorrow. Otherwise it may well be a takeaway from the local Indian.

Evening all 👋 I hope you're feel better PN 🤧
After what feels like a very long week at work it's a real TFIF feeling and we escaped at 4.55pm so just missed the worst of the Friday traffic to get out of townAlthough I arrived home to empty food dishes, a hungry cat, knocked over kitchen bin, little dirty footprints 🐾🐾 all over the floors and had to rescue my knitting from the floor 😳🙀 I think I'll have to investigate new cat flaps at the weekend 🙄
Yep courgettes and cucumbers seem to hide in the bottom of my veg containers and die. I begrudge buying half cucumbers as they often work out more expensive and I don't think last so long but this time of year tends to be a false economy
Lunch was the last of my HM RM from the freezer, beef cheek ragu and rice however there still doesn't seem to be a lot of empty space In there 🤔.
