I kind of had it in my mind to have an AYCE breakfast this morning, before doing a bit of a drive around... but then a house came onto the market late yesterday afternoon and I researched it and decided to call the agent first thing this morning.
This then gave me timing/location issues.... I'd have liked to have had the breakfast starting at 8am, but, to phone the agent I'd have not relaxed/enjoyed the breakfast so much. So then I thought, phone them first, then have the breakfast. That was kind of the plan at about midnight last night.
Trouble then came as I didn't actually fall asleep until 4am. Woke up this morning, not feeling great, showered at 8.30, but, as I was about to phone the agent (phone agent 9am, be eating a breakfast by 9.30am), my LL was in the kitchen at 8.55... and you can hear every word between here and there, so I didn't want to make that call until the LL'd left the area, but by the time I was sure it was "safe" to make a call, it was 10am. So I figured that today wasn't a good day for the breakfast
Had some honey nut cornflakes instead, eaten from a "saved Pot Noodle pot" as I find them handy. I eat cereal dry, so the noodle pot is just a good container for wedging them by my side and dipping into them as I surfed the Internet.

EDIT: Just had a thought... I could go for an AYCE DinnerThat might happen. I think they open at 12. Yorkshire, roasties, veggies, gravy

Episode not available at the moment, https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01m81bjGregg Wallace sets out to solve a long-standing family mystery: what happened to his great-grandfather, Henry Roland Springett, who abandoned his wife and children, including Gregg's grandfather, and was thought to have deserted the navy? Gregg turns detective and follows the clues that enable him to piece together Henry's life. Gregg uncovers a tale of infidelity, heartbreaking tragedy and cruel fate.
Gregg is also given an intriguingly formal portrait of his great-great-grandmother. On the trail of her story, Gregg is shocked to discover the origin of the portrait and to find out where she ended her days. The tales of catastrophe and misfortune that he uncovers leave Gregg reeling emotionally.
LOL CG - that pretty much sums up my meal planning most weeks
That sounds like a gorgeous chop Farway, hope you enjoy every mouthful
Cold but dry here so far, but that's supposed to change back to rain/hail/sleet/snow later. I'm making the most of it not tipping it down to give the house a good airing! My nephew gave me hand this morning to give the place a thorough hoover & dust. I'll mop through after lunch and then hopefully most of the cat fur will be banished.
Turkey broth for lunch and tonight it's griddled raw beef ham (thinly sliced top rump) on a toasted ciabatta roll with mushrooms & onions and lots of coarsely ground black pepper.

Hope you managed the AYCE lunch / dinner, when I first read it I thought it said 12 Yorkshires,I knew you were starving but not that much
Viewing on PN? Best of luck with itI'm another who doesn't meal plan, well maybe the evening before if something needs defrosting, otherwise it's what I spot YS or fancy that day, or in CFO style, what needs using up before I bin itIt was fried egg sarnie lunchtimeI am going to attempt the AF roasties, baby small King Edward spuds in skins are soaking, hoping they will magically scrub themselves clean.I'm also hoping I can find my rosemary plant out the front but I've a feeling it curled up & died, if I spot a 50p cheapo live one in Asda I'll get one

I think I was disappointed. I had the dinner. Meatless version. It wasn't that good. I think it was the chef's failure, not the menu or establishment. I'll stick to the Breakfasts at that venue.
I had: 2 yorkshires, 3 roasties, stuffing, mashed spuds, baked onion, potato bake, cauliflower cheese, mac cheese, carrots, peas, shredded greens, green beans and gravy.
It was the first time I didn't finish my plate at a carvery. Usually I'll force-feed myself the last 6 spoonsful or so... but as I wasn't overly enjoying it I just left some bits on the plate.4 -
I'm not keen on carveries, being veggie, as I hate the sloppy cauli cheese n mushy veg:(
Just had jacket spud, cheese n coleslaw, was surprisingly yummy"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Good evening everyone,
Glad you got some hot food in you PN even if wasn't the best AYCE you've ever had it sounds as though you should have full tummy tonight.
Cheese n coleslaw is one of my favourite baked spud toppings CG
I'd probably not meal plan (even if it does go to pot regularly) now I'm not working if I could shop more but as can't and aim to only get deliveries every 8 days or so and also don't want to overbuy or waste food it works reasonably well for me and stops my default dinner being perpetual variations of oven bung ins.
Brrr it's cold here, "feels like" -3 apparently which I'm not disagreeing with! We had some fairly heavy snow fall 🌨 for about 15 mins this afternoon before it turned to rain. My sis phoned, she works 50 miles inland and it was pretty bad there so she was leaving work sharp as it is supposed to get worse quite quickly and she didn't want stuck . I'm hoping it clears before my kids drive up tomorrow.🤞 Grocery order is booked for tomorrow so I have plenty of supplies for the hordes though I'm CFO tomorrow night as it will late before they arrive and I'm not sure what social arrangements they might have while here so I've not bought much extra, just bits for cooked breakfasts. One of them can always pop to the SM if needed for me.
After having some for lunch and my nephew taking a double portion away with him for his, which being the hollow-legged lad he is will no doubt be had with a mound of bread & butter lol, I reckon there are still have 3 or 4 portions of turkey broth left. Definitely a very MSE pot of soup as including fuel it only cost a couple of £ to makeand though I say it myself it's blooming tasty
(Just as well given how much of it there's been). The raw beef ham only takes minutes to cook so I'll get the mushrooms and onions prepped and cooked shortly so I can settle down to watch the second episode of MasterChef.

Had those Richmond sausages with mash that is going to make very nice bubble & squeak tomorrow with something yet to be defrosted. Masterchef here too shortly with crisps or similar to keep us company
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?5 -
Cheese and HM coleslaw tends to be my go to topping for jacket potato especially a good strong cheddar 🙂.
My menu planning tends to be the vague pork Monday, salmon Tuesday etc and I'm only specific if I fancy a certain recipe and need to check ingredients but there's always room for LOs and YSs to change my plans or CBA days. I find the structure means I eat probably and helps with the diet
I've a feeling I'm being laughed at, as I pulled away this morning I watched the kitten scale their gate heading to the back gardens I think he was watching me leave before letting himself in 🤨 his lordship was definitely hungry when I got home, not helped by another late night and I ended up giving him more dinner as he was complaining 🙄
I realised lunchtime that the freezer diving last night hadn't produced vegetable soup (I must label😳) but a vegetable/ tomato/ chilli stew type thing - one of those use vegetables up concoction 😁very nice but it needed a carb so I dashed down to W8itrose for a crusty roll. Thanks to this talk of pork chops in CFO land meant I grabbed a reduced thick FR Hampshire pork rack chop from their meat counter as it was so nice last time I had it. I was tempted by their rack joint also reduced but it was quite big, it I hadn't been rushing I would of thought to buy it and got them to half it.
Dinner was another W8itrose reduced bargain from my freezer, this time their undyed smoked loin of cod (recommended if you have a W8itrose fish counter near you 🙂) lovely chunky fillet 🙂. I was thinking kedgeree but by the time I got home it was easier to make colcannon and cook some broccoli, the fish I poached in milk in the microwave. I've made enough for lunch tomorrow as there is only one HM RM in the freezer and I don't fancy it. I think i will be batch cooking at the weekend to top it back up again for lunches. We've been told to expect a even later night tomorrow, I was a little sarcastic to the boss 😳 and told him that some warning would have been nice and he's lucky I didn't have any plans 😡 it comes with the job but asking rather than assuming would have been nice.

Omg , just found out , my Niece's school has been closed for a deep for a deep clean, as a group of pupils have just returned back from Italy, where the coronavirus is! Scary times:("You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
