Must be beef weekend as I'm cooking braised steak tomorrow
. With my sis coming I'm not expecting LOs lol
and I suspect her moggie might want to snaffle a bit, apparently after prawns and bacon it's is favourite. I think for the next week or so I'm going to have to be careful with what's on the counter as for a puss he is very unfussy food wise lol. In fairness he a lovely wee thing who got lost or was dumped when he was just a kitten so probably got used to eating anything he could. He was rescued after jumping in an office window to scoff someone's sarnie as they had left it to answer the phone. He was a bag of bones and is still very small and timid for an adult male. He wasn't feral though as he was litter box trained and very happy with people from the outset.

It's the weather for beef
.
His lordship turns his nose up at human food, except the very occasional piece of plain chicken but after 30 years of cat ownership I've learnt not to trust the little darlings with food on the worktopsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin4 -
Went to bed to a lovely full moon, woke up with howling wind & rain
Only casualty I can see is neighbour's bird table blown over, but in this wind any bird less than an albatross would be struggling anyway
The beef, mash & veggies was just the job with loads of LOs. I'll portion up the cooked beef later and freeze some of it. While I was freezer diving for veg yesterday i found some LO XCFO turkey I'd forgotten about, I'll add the beef to thatBreakfast, ideal for my porridge todayLunch, guess what? Beef & mustard sarnieDinner, beef is main event, not sure about the rest just yetBlood oranges, tried one of my L ones, tasty but I thought a bit dry , no bib required for mine Brambling

It's possible my "not home alone now" event is being followed by a "better kind of isolate myself for a fortnight" event as they didn't leave the house all day yesterday.... now, for a variety of reasons, I can only cook/eat when they are absent. So I waited it out, hoping they'd sod off so I could nuke a couple of fishcakes... but no.
Yesterday I ended up having: some honey nut cornflakes ... and, for my evening meal, a cold tin of peasI've been saving/washing/collecting my pot noodle pots in case they come in handy ... and I found that it's easier to eat the peas with a fork from a Noodle pot than from the tin, so I ate the peas from the pot, not the tin.
Bl00dy windy here today.... cold/damp.... and I've no sweeties.5 -
Wednesday the blood oranges I picked up were lovely sweet and juicy, I almost needed a bib to eat them, thank you for reminding me how much I enjoy themI'm glad I picked up two packs when I saw them YS
I made a lovely veggie curry yesterday with a Meridian jarred curry sauce. It's made with almond butter.
I have some chickpeas in the fridge and I will make another veggie curry later on, I think.
It's very windy here with an amber warning. I got my husband to move the bins nearer to the house and I have weighed down our garden storage boxes so I hope that will do.4 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Oh no PN - you need to get some hot food in you today!
It's still wild here though the rain has eased a bit, a lull I think before the predicted snow/hail/sleet comes later. Apart from changing my bed and popping a load of laundry on I've had a leisurely morning. Sis, cat and their "stuff" will arrive later this afternoon and I think the three of us will just hunker down for the evening. My sis has said she's bringing wine;) . Braised steak & mushroom casserole for dinner with spuds and various veg. Probably wont be posting much for the next week but will pop in when I can.

Dinner decided, some of the beef, it's a bit "crumbly" so sort of "pulled" style & not slices, and I've LO XCFO mini roasting spuds [small King Edwards in the real world] so I'm going to par boil in their skins and "roast" them in the AF, or maybe I'll just boil the bu66ers in their skins & scoff as they are if AF becomes CBAI had another of L's blood oranges, I think this one was an escapee and a standard, not blood, no reddish tinges at all, and juicerBut also had cheese & apple, the apple was Gala also on offer in L's, that was super, I may get another pack if I think of itPN, bad news if true, looking at the news I saw Chinese health people forcibly & literally dragging possible suspects off to isolation, seems neighbours snitch on them. That maybe going too farEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4

I managed to hold out quite awhile... but my "not home alone person" hasn't left the building, so I had to snap and made myself a Mr T noodle pot. That was the last one. Ideally I'd go out tomorrow and buy a dozen ... but the weather's due to be as vile tomorrow as today, so I'll no doubt not fancy that.
I've not been hungry today. I think my body's probably given up waiting for food and figures there's no point nagging me as I'll do what I want in any case.

When I looked out the window at 1am it was really light, especially considering no street lights after midnight here, but by the time I got up wet and horrible. My nephew luckily was on a early flight to Italy and had taken off before it got too bad, he's texted his mum to say he's arrived and wishing he took shorts
Only damage here is my empty compost bin has been blowing around the garden and my rotary washing line is looking sorry for itself. There are some branches down on local roads, hopefully no trees between home and the office in the morning
I haven't been far to day, just popped something around to a elderly friend and to my sister for a cuppa on the way back, even then I got really windswept walking to and from the car much to my sisters' amusement on my 'new hairstyle'I'm not sure why I bothered to wash it today 🙄 I'm growing it to cut it (if that makes sense) so it's a little wild at the moment anyway. His lordship decided to go out whilst I was out and arrive home an hour after me extremely wet, stupid animal
lunch was a spicy veggie burger and roll from the freezer, dinner is planned to be LO beef and veg from yesterday. Weather permitting I'm going out tonight, on screen showing of the musical kinky boots, I may have to think carefully where I park the car as some of the spaces are on the outskirts of the park and there are some big trees
