I suggest hand sanitiser PN and 111 on speed dial should she cough  :)

They seem to be digging up half the town I work in, the local radio was advising people from travelling into town from one direction so it got really busy my way, I sat in traffic for 35 mins to travel the last 2 miles this morning, we have road works my way as well :s  as I was parking they were suggesting people avoided the town  :o

I'm off out for a family dinner tonight, it's my youngest nephew's birthday, just to the local pub and I'm assuming my sister made cake  :)

lunch was just some vegetable soup from the freezer, we agree a quick lunch so we could go early tonight to avoid Friday traffic in the road works

    Good evening everyone,
Bother PN :s , I can see lots of hand gel being needed.
Hope you enjoy your evening Brambling :)
The wind is definitely building though apparently the storm we are getting tomorrow isn't Ciara that arrives on Sunday after the "warm up act" has left the stage! Whatever is coming in is definitely bringing some Artic chill with it, it's baltic!
After a chat with my sis earlier, I'm not going to be CFO from Sunday for a week or so as her & her cat her moving in while the worst of her flat renovations get done. With my nephew still in hospital and likely to be so for at least another week it makes sense unless this changes. I'm more than happy to be able to help but will enjoy my next couple of CFO days before chaos descends. Later in the week my elder son arrives so I'm going to have a houseful. Goodness knows how her cat will cope, poor wee thing has just got over moving house!
The scotch broth was even better today, real rib-sticking stand-a-spoon stuff. My sis has headed off with a tub for her dinner and there's enough left for my lunch tomorrow and a portion for the freezer. Proper MSE food as the whole pan cost under £1 for the ingredients and no more than 50p for the fuel to make the stock and then cook the soup. :D  Dinner tonight is a tad less frugal ;) as I'm bunging the oven on to cook some breaded haddock and HM wedges, I'll nuke steam some sprouts, peas and green beans to have with it.  A knob of butter for the veg, some tartare sauce and a wedge of lemon and I'm sorted. :)

some bacon for lunch with YS bread from the freezer, and some nice homemade soup from my "partners" mum who got a soup maker for the present giving season. it was really nice.
going to meet my girls tomorrow. ( DD1 and DD2 with DGD1 ) for some shop wondering and lunch out , they are talking about maybe subway . which would be good as I have some vouchers.
I am so grumpy at the moment .. proper mood swings lol  :#

Hello cornishchick nice to see you posting, feel free to be grumpy we all have our moments!! HM soup is hard to beat, I was brought up on the stuff and have continued the tradition and my boys are the same. With the exception of Heinz tomato soup bought stuff just isn't the same though some of the chilled ones are ok. I get twitchy if I don't have at least a  couple of portions of "here's one I made earlier" in the freezer. I debated getting a soup maker when they first came out but reckoned it would just add to my already extensive "gadget" collection and I could achieve the same with a pan and my trusty stick blender. Folk that have them do seem to really like them though.  My next pot is going to be lentil & bacon, if the weather is going to be foul I want I have plenty of soup on the go.:)

Looks lovely anyway and love that it has loads of pepper on top, I'm a big black (and white) pepper fan especially on soup :D
