Glad Bambi is less skittish Brambling nope combined with low BP is never a great combination
LOL re the cat being let in, his "lordship next door" has apparently taking to doing a "Cato" on the pup after she decided she wasn't so scared of him after all to put her in her place:rotfl::rotfl:

Cats usually win against pups Caronc it's just setting down the rules now. The engineer was saying his pointer is scared of the kitten who lives next door to them and his Jack Russell keeps a safe distance from it :rotfl:

Back to dull and dry today
That'd annoy me too. I'd probably end up, as a habit, though, taking something that is to cook for 20 minutes and just setting the timer 4x and peeking each time it stopped.

I'm a serial watcher/observer, opener/poker/checker when it comes to food cooking.
Setting timer is just what I do, mine's in 10 minute chunks

Brambling, my !!!!!! wouldn't have been crispy ready after ten minutes, maybe 'cos they're battered ones? I'm still on learning cycle though, especially with the variable thermostat, with the old Actifry it only had "on" or "off" but a clear cover so could easily see if food was brown / cooked enough
Re the cheese pudding.... while you've got onions kicking about, you might think about grating a bit of one of those in too ... unless that's inconvenient. If you're using 1-2 anyway you can put a bit aside, but no point cutting into one just to try that.
I did think of that but thought as first time I'd better stick to recipe
Onion would be a tasty extra
It turned out fine, looked lovely when first out of oven, but collapsed after a while:( Tasted fine though, loads left.
Caron I think you mentioned freezing it, does it freeze? If not no prizes for guessing what's for CFO over next few days

    Breakfast was porridge
Lunch, has to be use up OOD XCFO cheese, with use up cucumber in a sarnie
Dinner, rinse & repeat LO cheese pudding, chips & beans

  • I had houmous on wholemeal toast with a sprinkle of hemp seeds again. Cup of tea as well.

In true PN CFO style, I had an individual trifle for breakfast :)

For lunch I'll be having a garlic/coriander naan topped with a bit of cheese. As the 2-pack of naans will then be open, I'll probably have the 2nd one for my 'evening meal' too.

    Good morning everyone,
Farway they do settle a bit but sounds as though more breadcrumbs might have been needed. I'm not sure how it would freeze. I found LOs were fine nuked on day 2 but a bit stodgy on day 3 but might reheat better in the oven.
Damp, grey and cold here today, yesterday's sunshine was obviously a fleeting visitor. I'm quietly falling to bits:(, the lurgy is lurking, donkey is tapping (though gently) and I've done "something" to my back again so I'm like an old crone. I'll give it a few days and if it's not improved I'll part with my cash and book a physio appointment.
Eggs for lunch as I have lots, probably as egg mayo as I've not had that for a while. Veggie pasta tonight. The lamb stock is made and just needs straining, cooling & chilling before I make a pot of soup with it tomorrow.

PN, I thought that could happen with LL, the news & flights home. Fingers crossed & maybe quarantined on arrival, only needs a sneeze on the 'plane

No cucumber on lunchtime sarnie, it'd gone manky, just plain old cheese, could've added pickle or whatever but by time I found manky cuc I CBA

Nice warm sun out, so popped out for a bit more garden tidying. It's all leaping ahead now, large purple flowered crocus are out & waiting for any early bumble bees to turn up, and the hint of pink on the apricot buds

Spuds peeled & chipped , Caron, I hadn't thought of nuking the LO cheese pud but now I know I just may do that, looks fine cold BTW

    Good evening everyone,
Bother PN not what you were hoping for.....
Can't say I considered having the cheese pudding cold Farway, but then again I much prefer quiche warm too.
My back seemed to settle down a bit after a lie down with a heat pad but it's twinging again though not as painfully as before. I'll get the area well coated in pain relief gel before bedtime and hopefully that and heat will relax it overnight;)
It's really cold this evening, if the cloud clears I'm sure we'll get a frost. I see there's another storm due to hit this weekend bringing some properly manky weather for a few days :(.
Lunch was an egg and tomato roll with the remains of a punnet of grapes. The grapes were just the cheap ones from Tesco but were really sweet and juicy:). I could easily have eaten more of them if I had any. Bung it in the pan and hope for the best veggie pasta for dinner!!
  • I was supposed to make a veggie curry as I bought a Meridian jarred curry sauce made with almond butter.

Too lazy so I will see what I can scare up!:rotfl:

Glad the back is feeling a little better Caronc I was beginning to think we might have to offer a 241 deal with a hit man :D

Farway the timer on mine is goes up in 1mins with a thermostat which goes up to 200 but I've been known to just use the 200 :rotfl:

It's been a lovely dry day although a little chilly, there was frost on the car and I hadn't covered the windscreen  but nice for walking lunchtime and clearing my brain :)

Rummaging through the various hiding places (junk drawers) I didn't find the one thing I was looking for but I have just found my spare car key, a necklace I forgotten about and my mum's engagement ring (sentimental value only and where I put it so it would be somewhere safe :o) as I seem to be misplacing my car keys on a regular bases recently finding the spare is a good thing :) I also misplaced my tablets this morning  I was obviously 'man looking' as they were sitting where they should have been when I got home from work :o. Meno fog or the cat has been hiding them :p

Lunch was another portion of HM chicken soup, I forgot to take out the beef cheek ragu I planned for dinner so cooked a omelette with chips for dinner.

On a less scatty note I popped into W8itrose on the way back from my walk and picked up a half leg of D of Cornwall organic lamb YS £5 instead of £11.28 which has squeezed into the freezer with some half price venison mince,I usually buy local venison from the farmer market so it will be interesting so see if it matches the taste :)
