Woke up late with sun shining in, it was firework time around here at 11 last night so bit late dropping off, then I was planning the planting out of my primroses half the night:(

    Late porridge breakfast
Lunch, due to late breakfast probably just some toast + jam
Dinner, I've taken a salmon fillet out to defrost, so it's that plus salad & HM AF chips, I do mine same as Brambling, but first time in this AF

I don't buy oven chips so my AF chips are all made by proper potatoes, I'm lazy so I rarely pre cook the potatoes just cut up toss in a dribble of oil and toss in the basket

Sorry to hear your nephew is poorly Caronc <hugs> But as you say he's in the best place. You're poor sis isn't having to good a time recently she must be glad you live so close
    Second this

If the sun keeps shining I may plant out the primroses I so meticulously planned half the bloo*y night:D

  • I just wiped down the kitchen units and the tiles. I then had a packet of crisps.:o

It feels quite warm today so I'm not having a cup of tea. I think I will put a veggie burger in the oven and have it with salad and a pitta bread.

It's been a very fraught 18 hours, my nephew was admitted to hospital in the early hours following a severe deterioration of an existing health problem. He's where he needs to be and while our NHS is far from perfect when it works well, as it did last night, you couldn't ask for better:). My sis is in bits and exhausted and so am I. Going forward we'll deal with things as they need to be dealt with but for tonight I'm for a glass of red, some oven cooked food and hopefully a decent night's sleep.

    Sorry to read that.xx

    Good morning everyone,
Thank you for your good wishes, it will be Tuesday anyway before we have any idea re discharge etc. I spoke to my sis earlier and like me she's had a fairly decent night's sleep. The world is always a bit of a brighter place when you are not completely exhausted.
I've no real plans for today I might make some soup later as the weather is wet & wild and will be for a few days so just the weather for it over coming days. I also have various oddments of veg that need using which would give them a home!
Last night I ended up with a baked spud topped with roasted mushrooms and a small tub of filling from the freezer that was LO from making a chicken & ham pie. It really hit the spot.
Tonight it will either be fish or chicken thighs or I might make a naan pizza. Brunch will be black pudding, egg, toms & toast.

    Good evening everyone,
No soup was made as I ended up sleeping after lunch - I was out cold!!
The rain & wind has eased and it's turned really chilly.
I must remember to take lamb out of the freezer as my sis is coming over for a "roast dinner" tomorrow evening.
Easy dinner tonight of breaded haddock, baked spud and some nuke steamed peas & spinach.
  • I woke up at 5 today for some reason. Maybe because I knew I had a few Amazon deliveries today.

I just had a strong cup of tea with some biccies.:)

    Yesterday's total scoff was:

    1x MrT 75p spagbol.
    2x chocolate buns/fairy cakes.
Handful of salted peanuts (MrT cheap; don't bother, not salty enough).
    Portion of honey nut cornflakes.
Last 4 squares of bar of chocolate.

    Wet/miserable here today.

Last night's HM chips in the new AF turned out fine, took about 30 minutes. Quicker using frozen of course

'phone call last night, so off to Chichester today, not been for a while, the weather, like PN's is wet, but now brightening & radar says OK, cloudy but dry

    Porridge breakfast
Lunch, out somewhere, could be Cathedral cafe if not too busy with Sunday lunch crowd.

Mid morning in Chichester could be a cake / scone to go with a cuppa. The House of F cafe is now closed, that was always a scone & cuppa stop;)
Dinner,, depends what happens for lunch, always beans N toast. Luckily the 'phone call was prior to me getting a steak out to defrost as I had planned steak, egg, chips style

    Good morning everyone,
Wet , cold & miserable here this morning - a good day to tackle some housework
I like the Tesco cheap peanuts PN - probably because as you say they are not that salty same as their "Stockwell" crisps.
The lamb has defrosted and I'm going to bone and butterfly it so it doesn't take long to roast later. We'll have with it with roasted root veg, baby spuds, sprouts and gravy. Handily I have a tub of HM lamb stock in the freezer already.:)
Lunch will be a sarnie & some fruit.

I hope your nephew is ok Caronc, I'm sure your sister will appreciate the roast dinner and catch up :)

Where did you end up for morning coffee and cake FarwayI'm going to Chichester in a couple of weeks :)

I walked into town yesterday with my sister and we popped into the monthly Repair Cafe, where I found a home for my old sewing machine, they will collect and deliver to a charity. It's over 25years old and basic but it works which is all they need. I also found someone who will wipe the hard disk and recycle the very old desktop of a elderly friend. As well as repairs and recycling they have a lady who sells lose dry organic dry foods, where you take your own containers I picked up some sour cherries, sesame seeds and coconut palm sugar all at a good price and tested local chocolate made 20 miles away :D My sister refilled washing up liquid as they also have a liquid refilling station.

We had a bacon ciabatta roll for lunch and she led me astray in the shoe shop, a lovely pair of short green boots (or teal according to the box) I had walked away previously but they were how less than half price :D. Unfortunately not the black ones I need  but so comfortable and I was eying up a similar pair this time last year. Last night was another live screening opera from the New York Met this time Porgy and Bess, enjoyable but long, a 40min interval meant it was nearly four hours long

The lurgy is still lurking and my sister was complaining of the same symptoms, which included raised glands this morning  it has also upset my sinuses which has affected my balance again, not a wonky donkey more a wonky foal and not as bad as I had this time last year, but my deaf ear is aching slightly and more deaf than usual this weekend - anyone got a gun :rotfl:

Lunch was tinned spicy mackerel on toast, I've eaten far too much bread and wheat this week :o I'm going to cook a small gammon for dinner not sure what I'll have with it yet. Chicken stock made and I'm waiting for it to cool so I can remove the fat. Meanwhile I'm kind of tidying between feeling wobbly, the spare bedroom has Christmas decs and tree dumped it it and bags for charity shop and the guy will want access to all radiators when he services the boiler

a new one on me, very good, I never spotted the tea & cake offer until too late:( £4.95 I think
I ventured into the unknown and had burger there for lunch because the food looked so nice, burger was nice, no mystery chewy bits

I spotted lamb Kleftico on the specials board, but that ran out last night, so burger it:(

Dinner, not required, too full. I may have toast + jam later, or cheese & crackers
