I like the Tesco cheap peanuts PN - probably because as you say they are not that salty same as their "Stockwell" crisps.

I'd not spotted their crisps, but that'll be because I've not yet walked down the crisp aisle. It's not an aisle I bother to go into until I've specifically got crisps in mind, so 2x a year it used to be.

I've just looked on the Mr T website. They are £1/10, a mix of plain, c/o and s/v. I'll probably give those a miss as I prefer either all the same (so I can pick a flavour), or something more tangy :)

I think I've got dementia coming.

Had a pot noodle for lunch, about 11ish.
Got thinking about "what to eat" and cooked up the (cheap) frozen beef slices in gravy + made some of the (cheap) Mr T instant mash and opened a tin of Mr T peas. Cooked those, ate it.... and only JUST thought "hold on, you'd already eaten today" :)

I'll probably have a couple of those chocolate buns/fairy cakes later.

They're passable, but not something to rush out for.
  • I've eaten loads again today. It must be the winter and hibernation and all that.:o:rotfl:

I had two avocado rolls, crisps, toast, two slices of leftover pizza, houmous with crackers and salad and my husband is bringing me a Gregg's vegan steak slice home.:T

I'm starving. Been sitting here starving for over an hour.

"In my own home".... I'd have padded off to my kitchen and made myself a cooked breakfast as I'd have a kitchen stocked with 'my foods'.

Even though I'm home alone, I've simply not got 'my foods', or my equipment.... and it's not my kitchen (trying to not use it) ... not to mention there's no hot water for great washing up, nor is the drainer clear (some stuff in there's not moved since before I moved in last year)....

Kind of fancying an early all you can eat breakfast somewhere, but then I get tight about the cost and so will probably go out for some flatbreads in a bit and will get some cooked cocktail sausages :)

The comfort and freedom of being in your own home, with your things around you, can never be under-estimated..

Bit of a lazy day ahead, I think I may have lingering lurgy, nothing I can put my finger on, itchy eyes, runny nose, I'd say hay fever if weren't February

Breakfast. Porridge with a diced apple, hoping the apple adage works;)
    Lunch??? maybe more toast
Dinner, use up cheesy mushroom omelette probably with side salad

By coincidence I've been fancying a bought out breakfast lately, I nearly succumbed in Chichester yesterday, the breakfast in the cafe looked gorgeous and tasty, came in two sizes, small would do me.

It was a bit like when in a Chinese restaurant, other folks food looking far better than than my choice

Maybe I'll have an all day breakfast for lunch at some time

I like all you can eat, costing about £4.29 at T0by, because there are foods there I'd not cook for myself. e.g. sausages. This is one of my top foods for wanting an air fryer :)

I don't eat most of what would be put onto a breakfast plate, so I like just being able to choose the items I do want - and to choose how many of them I have.

At T0by, for about £4.29, I'd typically have: 3 sausages, 2 fried eggs, big heap of scrambled eggs, beans, 1-2 tinned tomatoes, their hash browns (two varieties if they've two), 2 bits of toast. I'd avoid bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes.

I can buy a 6-pack of Walls' ready cooked sausages (£2 full RRP for 6) though .... and they're wrapped in pairs in the box, so (with my own kitchen) I'd typically consider freezing some pairs.

If I just bought the Walls' sausages (£2), 10 eggs (£1), tin of beans (25p), 720g bag of frozen hash browns (75p), a loaf of bread (55p) and a tin of tomatoes (35p) I'd almost be there... using up 67p of sausages, 13p of beans, 15p of hash browns, 20p of eggs and 6p of toast. So I can DIY at home for under £1.50 ... versus £4.29 for an overloaded plate. So I'd spend the same, but have enough in the freezer/cupboard to have several more breakfasts from my initial purchases and cook it and wash up.... versus turning up, shovelling it onto a plate, eating and leaving :)

I did buy a breakfast twice last year though :)

Last time I went they had the "Breakfast Yorkshire Puddings" and a Breakfast Gravy too :)

They sell the ten packs as all plain too - that's the ones I get.:) They're a tasty crisp for 10p per pack.:)
Hope the "wonky foal" settles Brambling my consultant used to call it "bambi legs" <hug>
My sis and I really enjoyed the roast dinner yesterday evening, there's LO lamb which will get turned into shepherd's pie later. I'm not CFO tonight as my elder son will here on a brief work-related stopover, he'll be away again later tomorrow afternoon.
The weather is foul and from this afternoon we are on a weather warning for strong winds and hail, I don't think I'll be straying.
  • I've had toast and Marmite and two Linda McC vegan sausage rolls.

I made patatas bravas the other night and had leftover tomato sauce so I did two lots of penne pasta. I will have one later and then one lot for lunch tomorrow.:)

I'm going out in a bit to view a place I know I don't really want and I wouldn't be likely to get even if I did want it.

    Mad, eh?

... so, while I'm out, I'll pop into the Iceland 'food warehouse', which is just a big Iceland. I'll also pop into Mr T. I might pop into B&M. I might pop into 4ldi/L1dl.

All of this depends on the weather, my mood, how I feel, whether I've found something I fancy and can't wait to eat it.....

I've nothing special I'm getting, just a mooch round, couple of items on the "if you spot it/get it" list ... and some frozen dinners and fizzy pop.

It's just one of those cases of "I'm passing and have nothing better to do + I'd like some fizzy pop, so might as well amble along and take in as many shops as I can before I am food shop-fatigued".

I expect to come home with kebab meat, flatbreads, mac cheese, curry/rice, lasagne... and probably some frozen chips.... oh and pouch rices and Mr T's cheapo pot noodles... and a couple of tins of peas.

EDIT: Didn't go in as many shops as planned as the weather was vile, roads flooded, it was dark/couldn't see much out there, traffic everywhere, but I did discover a new Home Bargains, so slid in there and came out with lots of sweeties (3 bags). I also picked up six rice pouches (49p each) and a small glass cooking bowl (like Pyrex) as it was only £1.49. I've got a large glass Pyrex and had wanted a medium and a small, so now got the small... hadn't intended to get one until I got my next house, but figured at £1.49 why not.

From Iceland I got 30 fishcakes, 48 cans of fizzy pop, 4 scones, a pack of flatbreads (I realised I'd not be bothering with other shops, so might as well get theirs), 2 2-packs of garlic/coriander naans, a 3-pack of trifles ... and I think that was it.

I've just scoffed a trifle, first food of the day. I'll be having a couple of fishcakes in a flatbread later, with a splash of chilli ketchup.

    Good evening everyone,
Oh I love patas bravas:) Wednesday ideally with a good splash of aioli, I've used any spare sauce (and spuds) as the basis of a chickpea, lentil & spinach casserole before which worked well.
The North wind doth blow..... Well actually it's a North Easterly and it's hail & sleet so far! It's still mighty horrible out and perishing. I'm very glad that I'm unexpectedly CFO as my son's job tomorrow got postponed due to a leak flooding the premises he was going to. Thankfully he found out before he set off and it's been put back a week. There will be LO shepherd's pie though, never a bad thing in my book and there is actually some freezer space the excess can go in .
