Attempt two on picture posting - so not up to Farway's standard and not CFO (and apologies for bricks, weeds and general untidiness) but I love when the first blooms appear.

God I hate this new format, n how do I stop the millions of emails coming through, every time someone posts?
I'm not keen on it either, I seem to be flitting back & forth, with a huge empty space on the right of my screen. I can't find a button to set to show Favourites only without going back to Forum Home. Not a show stopper, just PIACalm before storm here, not going out but today would be best day as I'm in an orange warning zone, as I guess is Brambling. Had e mail, the council have closed the local parks in advance, danger of falling trees I guess, plus Southern Softies SyndromePorridge etc breakfastPrepped the beef pot roast, it is a huge lump of beef, barely fits in the pot. I decided to cook it then portion & freeze when cooked as it will need cooking at some point I may as well get it done now. It does look nice cut, but being rolled one never knows what grotty bits may be lurking in the middleAlso made more yoghurtLunch, not sure, thinking of tinned sardines on toast but that could changeDinner, I'm going to make a huge pot of mash, plus steamed broccoli, carrots & frozen whatever veg I find to go with the beef. Could be cold beef + bubble & squeak tomorrowEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I was standing next to a woman on the tube last night with a mask over her face as she was obviously worried about being infectious. Quite off-putting when she was right next to my face and I couldn't move away as it was so packed on there!
I had a vegan burger and chips in Wetherspoons last night before the gig.
I had toast and Marmite for breakfast with a cup of tea.
I am just going to go out and buy some bird food as I haven't fed them every day for a while. It's quite mild here. I'm not sure what time the storm is meant to be hitting us, I haven't looked at the weather today.

Oh I've not had Ling nor seen it here for ages Brambling, what a shame your egg wasn't soft as it sounds like a gorgeous dish.
We have a funny climate here on the Firth of Clyde, wet & stormy but we get the benefit of being surrounded by hills and protected by Arran and the Mull of Kintyre from the worst of the snow and ice. We also get the benefit of the Gulf Stream and Largs just up the coast has palm trees on it's promenade! Plants that don't mind short days seems to do well here, but yes it is quite early for the daffs to flower but not that unusual, often we will get a spell of snow/ice in February/March but knocks them back a bit before they seem to recover in "proper" Spring. It's certainly not Spring-like here today. Dry just now but getting cloudy and the wind is building. It's blooming cold out as the wind is bitter.
Groceries are ordered for tomorrow, I was going to get them delivered on Monday but thought I'd try and avoid any distribution disruption if the weather is bad for a few days. As long as I get the essentials my sis will pick up any bits we need or we can manage without if need be. I've chicken thighs defrosting to bake tonight with veg and spuds. I've taken a pack of braising steak out to cook tomorrow as well as bacon bits to make lentil & bacon soup over the next couple of days.

Pot roast checked, cooked lovely & falling apart, had a taster as you do
Just fine, no additional seasoning required
Spuds & veg prepped, only needs cooking nowQuick whiz round the garden, final shaping prune of my "new" Golden Delicious, the rhubarb crown I planted the other week from Wilko is now showing shoots, always a good sign, at least it's not rotted with all the rainEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4 -
Good evening everyone,
Your pot roast sounds delicious Farway, proper winter food. The storm with no name but not yet Ciara arrived mid afternoon and its blowing a hooley and lashing with rain. We seem to be avoiding the reach of the Amber warnings and I hope any CFOers in those areas are safe and warm. The bacon bits are defrosted and while my dinner is cooking I'll get them popped in the SC with some pot veg to make stock overnight. They're quite fatty so should be flavoursome but I'll probably wait and make soup on Monday so I can get the stock chilled and fat removed. Looking at the forecast until next week I think my meal plan will definitely be having a winter warmers theme 🍲

I knew there was a reason I was going to go into town today ... I decided not to go out as I didn't need anything so just a day at home
A new cat took up residence on my front path today, looked very similar to himself, I had to take a second look, very timid and ran off when I opened the door, when it came back I'm afraid his lordship saw it off, I think it was a case of the kitten is all he was prepared to put up withhe then guarded the front garden for a long while
Wednesday the blood oranges I picked up were lovely sweet and juicy, I almost needed a bib to eat them, thank you for reminding me how much I enjoy themI'm glad I picked up two packs when I saw them YS
Lunch was scrambled egg on toast, to use up some eggs just past their date. Dinner a la Farway was roast beef (mine was only a very small piece) roast parsnips, braised leeks, runner beans and broccoli. Enough beef and LO veg for dinner tomorrow as weather permitting I'm going out just before 7pm so nice and easyLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin5
