so is that...not used services and topped up....its a bit misleading

Perhaps you should read what you quote. It says "or", not and.

I received a text a few hrs after that said that the disconnection text was sent by mistake and that they are switching to 4g network in July blah blah.

Anyone else received it? I have been using my TPO sim as my main number, but haven't topped up as I had £10 free credit.

I hope it is a mistaken text as it doesn't give us any time to port out!

Are TPO still going to use Three's network?
They where suppose to switch from EE to Three because they where saying Three's 4G is better then EE's and it was supposed to happen about now.

  • I have been in communication with them, and they hastily withdrew their threat, saying much as they did to Saeed, but referring me to a web page which says that when they switch carriers, we shall all have to re-apply for membership, and that we would lose any credit that we have above £5...........this is simply illegal.

Not a scam at all nor illegal.

It was short notice even though the threat as you put it has been withdrawn so I'll give you that.

There's that word used again. Is it illegal though ?

    Hi all,

My TPO sim seems to have died today. I forgot to take it to work with me and when I returned home, I had received a text from TPO asking me to order a new sim before 28 July at ~2pm. My phone cannot get a TPO signal at all now even though I have power cycled my phone a few times.

My credit has also disappeared from looking at my online account too!!!!!:mad::eek::eek:

Anyone else having the same problem?

Can someone help please? My old Nokia will not be compatible with the new 4G sim will it? I only use this as an emergency phone and so I guess I will either have to buy a new phone which I don't need or lose the credit I have

  • We have 2 phones with TPO each with around £10 credit.

TPO are not answering my calls ( hung on at least 30 minutes each time!) but as far as I can tell, they are not continuing a standard PAYG service but just offering bundles which last only 30 days. I think we will lose our credit anyway, even if we go to the bother of changing SIMS and porting the numbers, as they request.

I accept that they want to change their charging methods but think it unfair that existing credit is lost.

    .

I have recived my new 4g sim but not activated it yet, if they are not having a standard PAYG service rather than bundles i'm off and just lose my credit which is about a fiver.

Where ARE you getting this (sorry, but frankly) rubbish from?
TPO will be continuing PAYG just the same as before; the choice of whether or not you want to use a bundle system is entirely up to you.
    See:
    https://www.thepeoplesoperator.com/pay-as-you-go
It gives standard rates PLUS bundle rates on that page.

@ panda64 - the switch-over process is explained very clearly in the new sim pack.
From what credit you have: £5 is transferred as soon as you register your new sim (and it is too - 3 times our household has done that so far) with the remainder being credited ASAP after 1st August.

@smw1948 - it is unlikely. Your Nokia must be 3G compatible at least, as TPO will be using the Three network (if you have not already discovered that ;) ).

They have a Facebook page too, if you are so-inclined:

I was just reading post 18 about bundles only, but as you say thats not right and you don't have to take a bundle.

    Thanks.
