What is considered the best UK Bank account for Expats, any takers please0

It's going to depend on where you live but HSBC is always a good first stop. Another option might be Wise. Not a bank but offers current account-like features with multi-currencies.soppybollacks said:What is considered the best UK Bank account for Expats, any takers please0 -
Likely an HSBC global account as above, if you are no longer living in the UK then most banks will not offer you current accounts and/or shut them if you open them with a workaround address like family and they realise you are not here.soppybollacks said:What is considered the best UK Bank account for Expats, any takers pleaseSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Don’t try to be clever with pretending you are in the UK if you aren’t. Banks will obviously see your IP address when you access your account, so know you are usually abroad, unless you use a VPN (though some block all access via VPN). Think about what you would do if the bank requested proof of address, or asked that you attend a UK branch. Your best bet is almost certainly HSBC. If that isn’t an option for you, you could try one of the offshore accounts in the Channel Islands, IoM or even Gibraltar.Nasqueron said:
