  • We had a takeaway. Hubbie had vegetable Sambar and I had mixed tandoori with a side order of saag paneer. Got a supermarket delivery tomorrow so will be having a cookathon to fill the freezer in the afternoon. Not yet decided what to make but will update tomorrow once I have obliterated the kitchen.

Risotto ended up being mushroom as i picked up some RTC shitake mushrooms when shopping today so used those with some closed cup ones that were looking sad in the fridge. Then realised i had no parmesan so my portion tonight ended up with the end of a bit of cheddar and some mozarella. Also cooked some peas and chucked those in, and the last quorn sausage that was in the freezer cut up. So it was risotto Jim, but not as we know it 😂

Rex pie + baked beans is tonight's dinner plan.
    What's rex pie? Please.

@ goldfinches thanks for your kind words 😘
We had a change of plan. Husband had a chicken and spinach Balti, daughter wasnt hungry after eating a very strange smelling vegan mac and cheese at lunchtime ( strange in that it smelled of fried onions)
So I had one of my favourite things, a load of roasted veg, with some pine nuts, olives, mozzarella and pesto.

JIL was it one that had yeast flakes in it? I bought some to try once, gave a tub to my SIL and still got the other to finish. They were ok but found the one thing they were lacking was errrr cheese  :D

Pre ordered a roast dinner today from the local pub. Its usually a wet pub and they haven't done this kind of thing until now but with minimal support and rents and overheads to still pay they, like many are really struggling. Hoping its yummy.

The package had made it all the way to the bin this time😄
It did say not suitable for home freezing but it was frozen by daughter.
    She described it as edible.

  • Dinner tonight is leftovers roast with mash and veg, yum. Will be making extra mash to do fish cakes during the week.

  • goldfinches - ha, I think a lot of us would like to chase Boris with the naughty slipper at the moment 🤣🤣🤣
florenceem - excuse my ignorance, but what did FF and SS mean?

We’re having chicken pot pie using packet puff, yorkies that I made a few weeks ago and froze, broccoli, runner beans and peas. With gravy as that’s the best bit. I’ll make pesto and cheese swirls for lunch tomorrow with the leftover puff.

:D  thanks for going through your bin for me JIL Hope the neighbours didn't see lol. I don't think based on your daughters feedback I'll be rushing out to buy one.
Our roast dinner from the pub surpassed expectations.  £10.99 and plenty on the plate. Really tasty too. We haven't had the pudding yet, that will be later but definitely order one again if they make a regular thing of it.
