happydenial - hang on in there, wishing you a lovely day tomorrow, goldfinches.
Have been clearing out the freezer to make some space and have eaten some slightly weird combinations in the last few days but have definitely made some progress.
Tonight's dinner was a container of defrosted takeaway veg curry to which I added rice and some veggie sausages that were hanging around in the fridge.
I also had a beer to celebrate having cleaned the oven and grill! Ta-da (imagine a line of little star jumpers here please). Bet you're all surprised but I'm sure you're not as surprised as my oven!5 -
happydenial hope tomorrow is a better day for you, sometimes its ok to put those big girl pants back in the drawer and not try to pretend to be ok. Take OH up on the takeaway and make the curry another night x
Goldfinches I had a few wierd combos when using things up from the freezer, I can confirm curry and pasta really don't go, will never take off as a fusion cuisine 🤣 (i thought the curry was mince when i took it out to defrost).
Well done on the oven cleaning. I got a quote to do ours last spring and balked at the cost, so took a day off work and did it myself, then rewarded myself with some oil lamps for the garden in lieu of paying to get the oven cleaned. I also cleaned it in Lockdown 2.0. I'm saving it as a special treat if 3.0 drags on 🤣 (as in I am not sodding cleaning the oven for the 3rd time in 3mths).Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

really fancy a roast dinner of some sort this weekend, with roasted carrots, masked turnip and cheesy leeks, its in my head!5

Red Pepper and Tomato soup for lunch today again.
Supper will be mushroom and bacon risotto and home made coleslaw followed by faux apple crumble (crushed biscuit topping) and custard. Warming food for cold winter days!4 -
Thank you guys - I do feel better today after a good nights sleep. I think it’s mainly down to homeschooling and the dreadful weather - it’s rained non stop for three days, and now that my eldest has started secondary school, he has to be online working from 8:30-3:15, leaving us no time for a good walk to blow away the cobwebs as we did daily in Lockdown 1.0. Anyway. I’m going to see how I feel later before I decide re takeaway, give DH’s wallet time to worry about the prospect 😁👍Books read 2023 - 49/755

I've found some rolls (petit pains) in the freezer we were meant have with pate on Christmas day but I couldn't find the rolls then. So chips with chicken (cooked last night) rolls3

I'm having hash brown, vege sausage, vege bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach. Husband having chips, peas and baked fish.
Daughter having, vege sausages, chips, mushrooms and spinach.
Husband cooking. I'm on the sofa with a cup of tea and a hot water bottle. Lovely.5 -
Perked myself up by making a pear and ginger cake, then made chicken katsu with turmeric rice, broccoli and carrots (and a side of a gin and tonic 😉). The moths in DH’s wallet are safe from takeaway spends once more 😂Books read 2023 - 49/754
